If you are looking for a good program to monitor stuff with, checkout System Information for Windows, SIW its great and free. I know this is a shameless plug, but it really is the most comprehensive free tool that I know of.
Got one of the old C0 Steppings :frown: E8500 @ 4 Ghz 2Gb Crucial Ballistix 5-5-5-15 1050Mhz Nvidia 8600 GTS 785/1175 (the highest it can go without artifacting, got an awesome cooler for it though maxes out at 55 whilst playing a game)
E6850 (3.0GHz) at 3.6GHz - 45C idle, 50C load. Asus 8800 GTS 640MB at 560MHz/1200MHz - 60C Aero, 75C load
You could break some underclocking records with that thing. also what biotoxsin said, AMD and Intel are both just as good for overclocking.
The older AMDs, Athlon XXXX+ x2 series are fucking terrible at overclocking.
Show us realtemp after 10 mins of stress.
Sure, doing it now. Here:
The older AMDs, Athlon XXXX+ x2 series are fucking terrible at overclocking.
This.
The older AMDs, Athlon XXXX+ x2 series are fucking terrible at overclocking.
Yah the old 90nm windsor chips and so on. They were pretty much maxed out completely as it was. mines at its physical limit as it is.
I got my 4600+ X2 (2.4ghz stock) to 2.7, almost stable
My old pentium 4 Then i just sat back and rela- Currect running this (don't mind the rofl thing) The vcore is less now though.
I'd go higher but I don't want to overclock my RAM, I didn't have the foresight to buy DDR2 1066 :frown:
Idling at low 40's Yea and that's like 1,1 ghz overclock.
NOT THAT AMAZING I'm idlein @ 34c http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=666375 Beat that :smug: 7.2 Gigatransfers per second (QPI) (7200MT/s) ... DOIWIN ORDOIHAVETOCMOAR Oh and by the way guys, QPI clock can be changed, so that crap where the i7 920 is "4800MT/s" well its dumb, you can change it to 6400MT/s.
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=666378 Motherboard only lets me add 150mv so I can't take it higher.
Modest OC, but that's running on a voltage lower than stock, perfectly stable too.
I'd go higher but I don't want to overclock my RAM, I didn't have the foresight to buy DDR2 1066 :frown:
What is your RAM speed? assuming its DDR2-800, that's great for OCIng to 4GHz. there is no big deal in overclocking your RAM.
Been running like this for a year+ Also got 1066Mhz RAM, though it seems un-necessary now, the chip seems maxed :( EDIT: Yes, the Sun is my GPU.
Lmao is that SLI? because i had that issue when running SLI, the temps fucked up until i updated the drivers.
Lmao is that SLI? because i had that issue when running SLI, the temps fucked up until i updated the drivers.
Latest drivers, and it's a single EN8800GT 512Mb XD
lmao touch it :smug:
lmao touch it :smug:
brb going to the hospital. Nah, it's real temperature is around 55'c Idle, 75 load. Measured with some other program a while back :)
Can't go any higher :(.
brb going to the hospital. Nah, it's real temperature is around 55'c Idle, 75 load. Measured with some other program a while back :)
o that's better. Maybe the sensors were borked? Probably just the driver tho..
What is your RAM speed? assuming its DDR2-800, that's great for OCIng to 4GHz. there is no big deal in overclocking your RAM.
Really? Sweet, in that case maybe I'll try to go higher. Yeah it's DDR2-800, specifically this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227267
I wasn't lucky at all and got a piece of shit batch of E8400:

I didn't know C0/C1s are that bad D: you don't even have HT on, and the volts are really damn high.
1 GHz overclock. Current temp is 37 C :smug:
That's what I keep mine at, more than fast enough.
1 GHz overclock. Current temp is 37 C :smug:
ugh C0s lol Good thing i picked mine out at microcenter!
35C in idle 50C when playing some game. GPU Overclocks: Core 506 MHz (Default: 375 MHz, overclock: 35%) Memory 709 MHz (Default: 600 MHz, overclock: 18%) Soutbridge fucks up all PCI Devices if i go over 10% OC on FSB.
ugh C0s lol Good thing i picked mine out at microcenter!
What's wrong with C0's
