I don't even know what changed, videos all seem the same to me.
Did you definitely install the custom SVP builds of FFDshow and AviSynth?
god dammit I'll just uninstall everything from the past hour
I installed but I see no difference, what do I have to change?

If you don't see a very obvious text overlay as the video starts playing then you're doing it wrong
I'm doing it wrong then. But what do I actually do...

It works in WMP-HC, but every time I use WMP-HC it gets stuck in fullscreen mode and I can't get out, and I cant navigate or do anything with the options.
so how do you make it use your GPU instead? 5770 here
also I don't know if this is how it's supposed to be but the menu's in Chinese
Video playback actually appears faster (as in, the framers per second seems faster), and more fluid when I installed this.

Right click the icon in the taskbar and select GPU acceleration (open CL)
Oh wait, missed the bit where its all in Chinese.
Erm, not really sure in that case.

duh
got it working, it looked the best with my collection of Harry Potter movies and that was about it, most of my other movies it either didn't work or it did and made an almost invisible change
some other videos that I have stored such as some of my favorite frag videos did not benefit whatsoever, so I ended up uninstalling it and going back to MPC-HC
Does this work with MKVs? 90% of my movies are MKV's and they don't work with this.

worked for me
Only have mkv movies here to and they work like a charm.

It's way smoother yes, But kind of akward.
I don't really want to install a custom ffdshow or avisynth as I use avisynth daily for editing. Wish it could like run a temp copy or something.
Edit: I installed it anyways.
Edit2: I have linux's problem.
I installed the custom ffdshow and avisynth and still nothing.
I'll have to try this with a 6970, my q66 can't do it.

It can't? My E6850 @ 4Ghz takes 1080p files with ease.
Yeah, I've tried following the directions, reinstalled several times, and it still keeps saying Waiting on ffdshow video.

Make sure you install the Lite SVP after the custom ffdshow and avisynth, and you are actually decoding with ffdshow
I hate when movies are recorded at 60 fps instead of the standard 24. It makes it feel more like a home video than a production quality movie. Good example is the DVD version of Gattaca.
Films are shot in the 'standard' 24 because it is cheaper. It's actually a lot worse than 60 it's just that people are used to 24.

Ok, it decided to work. Once. Then I changed it to a different video and it stopped working again.

Now it works. I had to add an ffdshow as an external filter to MPC-HC. Looked pretty decent watching Saving Private Ryan. Its actually pretty noticeable. Although, I don't think my GPU is actually doing anything (either that your the GPU load meter is lying). At DVD quality, it hovers around 35-40% CPU usage on my Athlon II X4. There's a bit of jerkiness at some parts, but its not terrible. Its definitely watchable. Haven't tried HD yet.
Can it be Avivo-accelerated?
Avivo is different, this is computing new frame information which doesn't deal with some denoising and decoding.

Plenty of movies and shows are shot on RED or something similar.
24fps was true when everything was film and like a minute of film cost a hundred grand.

What video card do you have? and secondly, I'm at 2.4ghz. I manage 40fps from 24fps content.
I can't get it to work with MKV's.

GTX285.
And most scenes just look so weird on 60FPS
How do I make it work with MKV's, I've tried everything.

The developers are Russian, they probably couldn't understand it anyway

There's a little problem. As of Catalyst 11.5 there's a bug in 69xx drivers: when you're trying to use both OpenCL app and D3D11 app simultaneously the driver just crashes. In our case it's OpenCL-acceleration in SVP plus D3D11 render such as EVR working together.
We're talking with AMD support since February and now they seems to admit the bug.

Are you sure you see the ffdshow icon in tray area while playing MKV's?

Also there's a good thread on AVS Forum starting from here.

Haha, let me ques, you saw a traffic spike from us?
custom ffdshow
There's no "custom ffdshow build" in SVP, only the suggested one that always works so you're free to use any x86 ffdshow build you like.
Also there's nothing special in Avisynth installed but SVP will replace system32/avisynth.dll (or syswow64/avisynth.dll) with the one from /distr/MT/ on start.

the menu's in Chinese
We're not providing Chinese translation, so may be you just switched to Russian?

Haha, let me ques, you saw a traffic spike from us?
Not so high, it's only ~100 visits from here at the moment :)
Woah, this looks awesome.
BTW
Darkimmortal
Obviously this is not real 120hz
SVP can do interpolation to any frequency including 120Hz. So if you've got a "3D" monitor that can produce real 120Hz SVP will calculate 4 additional frames for each original one (24 -> 120).
