Maybe it's because I use the x64 version?
That would be it, always use x86 when it comes to media players - same situation with regards to plugins and codecs as browsers.
How could I screw up an installation that only offers me "Next" and a few extra choices?
Not implying you screwed it up, but if you'd installed a codec pack in the past it could cause a shitload of different issues. Anyway x86/x64 is the problem

I can't seem to get my 580 to do any acceleration... GPU usage is like 1% and my CPU is loaded. I enabled OpenCL, but can't seem to get it to do anything different. Any ideas?
Can someone please help me out? Is there another switch I need to find. I would think a 580 could do 1080p at 60fps or something. It works, it just doesn't use the 580.
I've been using it for a few weeks now, and when I don't use it movies look really choppy. The effect is definitely pretty awesome and I'd recommend it to anyone with the processing power.
Brt5470 It works, it just doesn't use the 580. If it really works and the "GPU acceleration" is checked then it actually is using GPU. And the advantage of GPU depends on processing settings so try to post them here may be I could give some advice ;)
http://forums.amd.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=390&threadid=128404&STARTPAGE=2&FTVAR_FORUMVIEWTMP=Linear Looks like it could be a while until we see a fix for OpenCL on 69xx cards :saddowns:
The new version SmoothVideo Project 3.0.3 is available now. This is a bug fix release. If you've SVP 3.0.X installed the "Lite" version is recommended for upgrade. You can download it from http://www.svp-team.com/wiki/Download. Changelog:
+ SVP now can handle videos with variable framerate. Emergency framedoubling mode is used; + Pixel aspect ratio (SAR) is now using for stretch and crop operations and for black borders lighting (thanks to Rimsky); - Fixed installation password bug (reported by DeathTheSheep); - Updated English translations (reported by edison); - Fixed minor bugs (reported by Andr1an0, BipBip, DAAO, Fenyx, LordMerlin, mattlambertson, Noweol, nv0001, s2a, SubJunk); - Deleted gradfun2db plugin because of unstable work; = Updated components: ReClock 1.8.7.7 and madVR 0.65.
Wow, this looks amazing, thanks.
My eyes do not accept this as truth.
It does make it look more like a TV show though, not that it's a bad thing, takes some getting used to but looks fabulous in on HD films.
Since this has been bumped I might as well ask; I recently got a GTX570 that according to the chart should support the OpenCL acceleration in this, but the option's still greyed out. Any ideas how to enable it?

Generic.Monk Reinstalling SVP will not help, but: 1. ensure that - you've got latest WHQL driver installed - there's no AMD's or Intel's OpenCL SDK and/or graphics drivers installed (may be your previous card was ATI/AMD ?) 2. run this: http://www.svp-team.com/files/CLInfo.exe (it's AMD's command-line tool to show OpenCL devices and their capabilities)
Does this work with VLC?
Does this work with VLC?
You best be joking
Does this work with VLC?
VLC is a self contained video player, it doesn't rely on external filters, so SVP can't do its job. VLC is like North Korea.
-snip- [editline]7th July 2011[/editline] I got it playing 720p videos smooth but after half a minute it starts stuttering (CPU load over 90%) before it goes back to normal. I don't know what to do. [editline]7th July 2011[/editline] I'm using Q6600 and GTX 460.
Are you using OpenCL?

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=148117 Take the avisynth.dll and plug it into C:\windows\sysWOW64 Take the plugins folder and put it into C:\program files (x86)\avisynth\, have it overwrite whats inside.
i got it thanks e: how do i do blu-ray with this? I don't care what player i have to use
Are you using OpenCL?
Yes, I'm using it.
I don't know what to do.
There's a www.svp-team.com/forum supporting forum where everyone always gets help ;)
Take the plugins folder and put it into C:\program files (x86)\avisynth\, have it overwrite whats inside.
No need to copy our plugins into avisynth' folder.
It refuses to install on my copy of Windows 7. (64-bit.)
Right now, all I have is The Thing in 1080p and I'm to scared to watch it this smooth.
VLC is a self contained video player, it doesn't rely on external filters, so SVP can't do its job. VLC is like North Korea.
Except VLC is actually good at what it does.
Except VLC is actually good at what it does.
Just because it works doesn't mean it is good Perfect comparison would be Internet Explorer
