Or maybe have a single battery or two batteries that hold a charge for longer?
Multiple batteries are more efficient and take less space.
Four batteries in RAID 0. :v:
Well it looks pretty, but looking at that spec sheet that's all it will do
Fuck off mac
If nothing else, it's a killer Emulator machine... but then again, so is any regular netbook. :smug:
haters gonna hate
I personally don't think it even looks good.
Since I'm too lazy to quote, this is basically for all of you:
First, this is far from a netbook. Full keyboard, nice screen, not clunky, etc as every other netbook I've seen. Second, the SSD obviously adds to the price (and the performance)

What performance?
I wouldn't mind having one just for class. I need a new laptop, but I need one that can actually do stuff and for $999 it just isn't practical for me to get that.
I wish I could get one though. I don't necessarily like Macs, but I don't even use my computer for anything useful any more other than typing reports or research.
Does look really nice though.
Dammit Apple if you're going to charge me $1000 you can give me more than a 64GB SSD.
Oh look!
An 1000$, 3 pound Frisbee!

My netbook has a full keyboard, a working screen, it carries well, and why would I EVER give a fuck about an ssd in my netbook.
my dell netbook costs my ~3.5 times less and it can do more than this shitty toy.
I love how people get angry over apple products.
if you don't like it, don't buy it. relax.
Love the lightness of it, its for those people who live in New York and are always 'on the go' but they don't want to carry a labtop case with them.
I would actually buy that if Apple doesn't overprice their shit so much.
isn't the regular macbook the same exact price? and the macbook pro just $200 more?
I lol'd
Does it fit in a manila envelope?

i started a shitstorm by posting something apple
:ohdear:
it would look cool if it were more square, I don't like the weird progressive curve style.

I think it looks lovely. It'd be a great alternative to a, no offense to all you netbook owners out there, cheap feeling and looking netbook.
Not everyone who is out to buy a netbook style laptop is wanting the cheapest thing on the market. Also, I can bet you the new MBA performs much better than a Atom based netbook.
a 320 is shit a 330 would be much better

You have to conserve power, the goal of a MBA or netbook isn't gaming. Gaming aside, I'm sure the 320 would happily do any task you asked of it.
The real question is, what happens when you drop it?
but it costs the same as a regular macbook

also funnily enough this is better and cheaper than my first windows laptop
I just came up with a brilliant idea.
1. Take the hardware of a Macbook Air.
2. Place inside a standard-size laptop case.
3. Fill all the empty space with 1.2 metric fucktons of batteries
4. ???
5. Enjoy having a decently-powerful (non-gaming) laptop that can go (if my estimates and calculations are correct) 20 hours without recharging.
Think about it. The specs are terrible for gaming, but they're OK for a laptop. Better than a netbook, at any rate. It already has a pretty good battery life, too. Now add another 2-3 pounds of batteries. Should be at least a full workday's charge, possibly a full day's charge. I can think of a lot of ways to use such long-lasting power.
