Its the one that lets you use OtherOS and hacks.
Well 3.21 took OtherOS away, so if I upgrade from my 3.15 to 3.41... I'll get to keep it?
what a dick move
Yes, upgrade to 3.41, buy an *unofficial* PS3Jailbreak USB dongle, and enjoy PSGroove
Already got it all from a PC magazine disc.
Close, but no cigar.
Even if it really was free, it still doesn't compete with mplayer or vlc or mpchc for playback, nor ffmpeg or utilities that use it for encoding imo
I got a better giveaway but it's a contest http://promotions.newegg.com/Sweepstakes/GiftOn/index.html?cm_sp=omepage_Toprightv1-_-SweepstakesGiftOn-_-http%3a%2f%2fpromotions.newegg.com%2fSweepstakes%2fGiftOn%2fShowcase_390x130.jpg
I can hardly fathom how nice a $10,000 credit to newegg would be.
I can hardly fathom how nice a $10,000 credit to newegg would be.
I'd probably be the happiest person alive.
I'm gonna make a list of what I would buy I think.
I'd buy 4 of the fastest SSDs, RAID them up, 4 2 TB drives, RAID them up, and drop the rest on a video card, CPU, Motherboard, and RAM. maybe a new PSU too, this will be a power-hungry system.

The new version crashes my browser, so I'm stuck with 1.5.
Have fun with no TRIM support.
I use Server 2003 anyway, it doesn't support TRIM
Not gonna lie, I'd probably build the most top of the line computer I can, and then a server, and then 2 37" screens. And a large desk... Oh, and an iPhone.
I use Server 2003 anyway, it doesn't support TRIM
Why would you use TRIM with a top of the line system like that anyways? Aren't RAM disks faster than SSDs?
Why would you use TRIM with a top of the line system like that anyways? Aren't RAM disks faster than SSDs?
TRIM is a technology. Why wouldn't you use it? [editline]14th December 2010[/editline] And yes.
TRIM is a technology. Why wouldn't you use it? [editline]14th December 2010[/editline] And yes.
I don't know why I typed TRIM, meant to say Server 2003. Other than costs what are the advantages of one over the other?
Why would you use TRIM with a top of the line system like that anyways? Aren't RAM disks faster than SSDs?
yeah but they also cost more [editline]15th December 2010[/editline]
I don't know why I typed TRIM, meant to say Server 2003.
because I like server 2003 [editline]15th December 2010[/editline] though honestly I'd probably pick up a Server 2008 R2 copy
I don't know why I typed TRIM, meant to say Server 2003. Other than costs what are the advantages of one over the other?
RAM disks are extremely fast but lose their information unless kept powered. That's about it.
yeah but they also cost more [editline]15th December 2010[/editline] because I like server 2003 [editline]15th December 2010[/editline] though honestly I'd probably pick up a Server 2008 R2 copy
Yeah, I was curious because doesn't 2003 have a physical memory limit of 32 gb? [editline]14th December 2010[/editline]
RAM disks are extremely fast but lose their information unless kept powered. That's about it.
So a good use for a RAM disk would be as a cache? Also, I read up a bit, and it appears most RAM disk systems have a battery that keeps data even when a computer is shut down. I'd imagine for as long as the battery is charged.
Yeah, I was curious because doesn't 2003 have a physical memory limit of 32 gb?
I wasn't planning on having that much anyway
