Our school is investing in SMARTboards, too, now the fun part, they ordered a HD one, and the teachers macbooks weren't powerful enough (Intel X3100, students have newer ones with 9400M's) to run them at HD
You think that's bad, nearly every class in my school has either a SMARTboard or an ACTIVEboard, so every teacher knows how to use them to a basic extent.
My new Science teacher (who comes from Earthquakeified Christchurch and has never seen a smart board) promptly wrote time reminders all over the board in permanent marker.

I had a teacher do that once, it was fucking stupid because everyone let her.
[editline]11th June 2011[/editline]
fucking laughing as she did it.
God I hate them.
I think my router is deliberately screwing me over. The same router has 2 different UI's and 2 different networks for 2 computers on the same local network.
The fuck is this

Someone in my high school did that in my IT class. Needless to say, my IT teacher was pretty pissed. It's hard to get that stuff off and there's now a permanent grey mark on it.
My friend insisted the eyefinity was native to nvidia cards, even after both me and my other pal told him he's dumb.

Why didn't you tell him about nVidia's alternative? Or did you.
Why didn't you tell him about nVidia's alternative? Or did you.
nvidia has an alternative?
-snip-
Somehow I confused Eyefinity with 3D, this would be easier if the name made sense
nvidia has an alternative?
Nvidia surround.

That's not multi-monitors.
not the best place to put it but for the guys in chat I goto restart my PC. be back soon.
There's a really really annoying bug in the Libraries in Windows 7. If you're navigating folders through a Library, the view doesn't update. For example, creating a new folder doesn't show up until you press F5. Then when you give it a name, you have to press F5 again to get rid of the "New folder" folder.
Same with editing names of files/folders and deleting files. However, if you browse to the folder normally, it works as normal.

Permanent Marker is the EASIEST thing in the world to remove. Just use a polar solvent to remove it, basically any form of alcohol. The most common choice is usually Isopropyl alcohol, aka rubbing alcohol.
Even Industrial Strength permanent markers are removed easily with polar solvents.

This.
I remember once I had accidentally used a permanent marker on my whiteboard.
Just coloured over it with a whiteboard marker and wiped it off. :v:

i figured this out in 3rd grade - became the best whiteboard cleaner in the school

Yeah, dry erase marker is the same principal. It is a polar compound so that the solvent they use to clean the whiteboards can remove the dry erase marker easier if it gets stuck on. And since the dry erase marker is already easy to wipe off, you can use it as the solvent to remove permanent marker.
:saddowns: I was installing GTAIV and I had just finished the second disc.
I put the first disc back in, and the CD drive saw the disc, but couldn't read any of the files.
Couldn't do anything, and I had to use a paperclip to get the CD tray to open.
Now the drive still thinks it has Disc 1 in it.
Is there a way to fix this without restarting PC? Don't want to have to re do the entire install. :saddowns:
Having all your games on Steam is really great :smug:
Having all your games on Steam is really great :smug:
I actually have two copies of GTAIV. One retail, then I bought Steam version after (It was only $2.50 more to get it with EFLC)
Really should download it so I don't have to mess around with CDs and shit.
Reminds me of the time I bought Just cause 2 in a store. Brought it home, and the installer kept crashing. Good thing it was a Steam game :buddy:
So I didn't need the disc at all
You bought from best buy.
...
Yep. Best Buy is the only tech store in my area. It turned out well though. I got $90 off the Apple tax courtesy of them.
I got content from the salesperson, too. He had apparently been selling the 15" MBPs as dual-core, despite that every available configuration is quad-core. :v:

Here's the thing.
Online shopping doesn't really need to have an "area".
[editline]12th June 2011[/editline]
I also see you're posting from it, at least you're using firefox.

Neither of my parents like online shopping. :saddowns:
Of course I'm using Firefox; I can't efficiently use anything else. I would be using Windows or Linux but I'm still exploring OSX. Some parts are really cool (smooth scrolling multitouch trackpad things and the terminal (so far)) and some things really suck (the way OSX manages windows and processes, and parts of the GUI).
The best thing is the battery. Jesus Christ the battery life is amazing.

Your only option is to kill them.
I convinced my parents about online shopping a few years ago by showing them the little green lock in the url bar and telling them that it means your details can't be hacked.
I'm really glad my dad knows his stuff about computers
Ah, fuck.
My laptop charger is getting frayed at the end. Probably my fault, partially - I usually didn't make sure it was laid out straight, the end was usually bent a lot. So now the thing is starting to fail on me - I've duct-taped it back together, but if I move too much it stops working.
So I'm going to have to find another one. Problem is, I can't find any info on Asus's website about "which charger goes with which laptop". They have three or four different ones - ranging from 40W to 120W. And the model number on my current one is completely different from any of them.
I did a bit of math (well, plugged the numbers into Wolfram), and I think I'm supposed to get the 90W one. I'm going to try to get on chat with one of their service people, just to say "hey, this will work, right?". It seems like they don't do that over the weekend though, so I may have to sit extremely still for the next few days.
no. pictures and videos are accepted.

So is that a yes? Also I never use WMV.

90W chargers are very very common. So I wouldn't be surprised if it was.

At least it's the charger that died for you.
The battery in my fucking HP 625 just died.
I have it connected with the charger right now, no battery, mining bitcoins.
It's not exactly a power-beast but hey, every bit helps.

I really love the screen space thingy, it's next on the F3 key, and shows all open windows.
Rate me clocks if Vista/7 has this too, i haven't upgraded from XP yet but will when my new pc arrives.
Maybe Windows + Tab is similar?
And that is awesome, but I never use it :v:
