Also content from the computer store that built the pc for a friend of mine (I offered to do it but he already bought it), first it has a AMD X3 ish processor, that i unlocked today for him to X4 (Maybe they could have done it at the store for an extra price), and he had Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit on 4GB of ram :arghfist:
I forgot to mention, when I was at Best Buy getting my MBP yesterday the checkout guy tried to sell me on a "virus removal" service for the computer.
How much did that virus removal service cost? $119 at checkout for a year or $199 at a later time per instance.
I asked the checkout guy for verification. Then I laughed. Loudly.
Yes how DARE someone try to sell you something that gets them commission and makes the business profitable

I'm all for employees pushing for virus removal and I don't mind if they get a commission, but $200 for a simple virus removal is beyond excessive. I usually do that for free simply because I can't bring myself to charge for something so incredibly easy. I would probably charge $60 if it was a particularly difficult virus, but never $200
Our school is investing in SMARTboards, too, now the fun part, they ordered a HD one, and the teachers macbooks weren't powerful enough (Intel X3100, students have newer ones with 9400M's) to run them at HD
Now that we have Polyvision eno boards in all the new science labs I fucking hate smartboards like the plague. They're so much better and can double as a whiteboard.
Ah, fuck.
My laptop charger is getting frayed at the end. Probably my fault, partially - I usually didn't make sure it was laid out straight, the end was usually bent a lot. So now the thing is starting to fail on me - I've duct-taped it back together, but if I move too much it stops working.
So I'm going to have to find another one. Problem is, I can't find any info on Asus's website about "which charger goes with which laptop". They have three or four different ones - ranging from 40W to 120W. And the model number on my current one is completely different from any of them.
I did a bit of math (well, plugged the numbers into Wolfram), and I think I'm supposed to get the 90W one. I'm going to try to get on chat with one of their service people, just to say "hey, this will work, right?". It seems like they don't do that over the weekend though, so I may have to sit extremely still for the next few days.
I got the same problem with not having a charger. Mine was stolen but the result is the same. I thought i saw several chargers that adapt to what your laptop needs. If only the connector fits
That sounds like something my sister would do. I started playing Dwarf Fortress once, and didn't save for an hour or two, and I got up to go to the restroom. I came back after less than a minute, and my sister had already jumped on the Mac, closed Dwarf Fortress, and started posting on some stupid website about cats called Mweor (Sometimes she sits on the Mac and watches Ghost Whisperer or one of the Step Up movies for FIVE FUCKING HOURS STRAIGHT). I complained, and she screamed at me. My parents didn't give a damn about it.
This happens often and it really pisses me off. I'm glad I'm building my computer soon, so I won't have to deal with her.
EDIT:
Also, she NEVER wears headphones. Jesus christ, I don't want to hear every single goddamn obscure British band song in existence and everything that happens in whatever movie she is currently watching at maximum volume while I'm trying to read.
Also, she feels that it is completely necessary to describe every single detail of whatever movie, movie trailer, TV show, book or forum post she just watched/read/wrote when she walks by.
Sounds like my sister.
Sounds like a generic sister

Jesus what
The PSU is in the laptop, isn't it?
[editline]11th June 2011[/editline]
Oh wait the battery does not qualify as such it seems.
yeah the context was that he kept saying his laptop psu was failing so I told him that he could buy a new adapter, but he said the psu is in the laptop
PSU = Power supply unit = the battery
The charger is only used to charge the battery, and isn't really a PSU.
I have got stuck with tutoring a bunch of first years because of my grades(All A's, they just say "You're doing this or you don't get your classes you want.") so of course I get the kids that don't know how to do shit and claim they do. Today I had some kid who seemed like he was 17 when he was 14. He thought that a monitor was a PC and a mouse was a keyboard. :downs:
You can download a copy of Windows 7 installation and just use the key that came with your disk. It isn't piracy since you are actually paying for the CD Key. Windows support actually has suggested this to me before.
You can download a copy of it quicker than two weeks.
Happened to me once, having a really good internet connection and a good download server, I got it in two hours.
What kind shitty router crashes when it's used?

Guns and explosions would be nice if they are used on the ponies
How did that shit become so popular? I remember seeing plastic toys of those things marketed directly at little girls and now half of the internet seems to be infatuated with that cartoon crap.
Odellus was nice to me. I'm scared.

On October 19, 2010, Cartoon Brew wrote an article about the show entitled, The End of the Creator-Driven Era in TV Animation, which had an oddly alarmist tone to it. Threads on 4chan’s comic and cartoon board, /co/, attacked and made fun of the article for this reason. The article and the threads generated /co/’s initial interest in the show, causing several members to go and watch the first episode. After the second episode aired on October 22nd, threads about the Ponies started to boom even more, gaining the show fans outside of its target demographic.
And it just grew "out of control" for there.
Just to be on the safe side, lets drop the subject before things get out of hand.

I was on an impressive connection and had to download Visual Studio or something I can't remember. I was downloading from the official Microsoft servers and ended up downloading 10GB worth of information in 10 minutes. I had no idea what was going on.
So i checked the update window to see what needed to be done and saw, Under the "Important" section i saw "Internet Explorer 9"
