It's on both.. What is it?

That's part of the image, which I cropped out. It's in the same spot on both.
looks like an artifact in the camera :(
Well, half a coloumn of dead pixels.

Even if it has that issue, It's still a great catch. Maybe edit out that spot in the computer later if it's very noticeable on some images
aww... But it's barely noticeable, right?... RIGHT?!?!?
Sensor's fucked up?
aww... But it's barely noticeable, right?... RIGHT?!?!?
It's not, sorry.
The dead pixel coloumn is pretty much in the middle of the CCD and the pixels have a distinctive red colour.
Yeah, set the shutter speed way low and I bet it's ridiculously bad. :(

Only photograph redheads and red roses?
aww... But it's barely noticeable, right?... RIGHT?!?!?
Should be pretty easy to edit out if you think its noticable.
Ask your teacher when does / did the guarantee expire.
The guys at Nikon will replace your camera if the amount of dead pixels are above the threshold.
Make a small program that takes the .raws or whatever and then replaces those pixels with the ones surrounding it to the left and right.

Awesome! I have always wanted to get a DSLR, but I could never justify getting one. Maybe one of these days I will. Anyways, that is awesome man, I hope you enjoy the heck out of it.
edit.
I just noticed your previous pictures with the dead pixels. They are called Hot pixels, usually they get fixed through software. It is a pretty common issue, look around online for it and you will find ways of getting rid of it.
The d40 isn't really that good to begin with, so I wouldn't be too worked up.
It's like someone giving you a 1.5ghz celeron.

It's from 2006 but it's still a $600+ camera

It's still a DSLR camera, and those cost a fuckton of money (at least in Hungary).
Having a D40 would be like a dream to me.
Any luck on making OSX actually look nice?
I'm considering hackintoshing my inspiron 1720, and I don't want that bloody dockbar.
I did a bit of research and apparently the dock is integrated into a lot of the GUI functions, so if you kill the dock, you also kill stuff like the wallpaper and the cmd+tab functionality.
What I managed to do is clean it out, auto-hide it, shrink it, and (with TweakTools) relocate it.

It's not too bad now. I can live with it.

The Norton 360 TV ads are extremely bad. One about a guy who recommended free antivirus to his friends, who all hated him because they "Got hacked". The other one consisted of a bunch of people yelling made up swears at their computers because they "Got hacked".
I also saw a $29 Android version of some Norton security software. Besides protecting your phone from malware, it allows you to disable or track your phone through text messages. Not bad, except the Android market is filled with apps that do the same thing (Plus more) for only a few dollars.

Pfft, those apps are hacker scam apps. Norton is the only thing on the internet you can trust

Anyone here want to buy a 4870? (I'll also accept a reasonable trade of some type :v:)
I need to get rid of two. I don't have the original boxes or cables or anything.
One is 512MB, other is 1GB.
