and that includes a 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i5, 4GB RAM, 500GB hard drive. Pretty decent I think.
The iMac is probably the least overpriced Apple computer you can get

One of my friends posted this on Facebook... :geno:
So, i have this spare desktop with an old ati card, so i figure, hey, lets use it to mine bitcoins. thing is, i dont want to have an extra screen, or an extra mouse and keyboard invading on the corner of my desk.
right now its running xp, i dont have much experience with linux but i would be willing to try it out, and i need some way to get both the computers performance (heat) and a bitcoin console. iirc xp doesnt have remote desktop, so anyone have a direction to look in?
doesn't matter if it does, if you're remote desktopping to linux you're doing it wrong
In case you havent read whats about to happen (hopefully) yet: http://redd.it/hxtjy
XP has remote desktop built in.
Go to the bottom of the page and click the Moderators button or the Top button
It auto-hides and only activates when mousing over the very bottom row of pixels. I haven't accidentally activated it so far, so it isn't unbearable.

It would be a good idea, provided it's PC exclusives.
PS: I figured out how to get IPv6 adoption up. Start making games that only work in IPv6, and bring back that IPv6-only free porn site.
hahaha, tehwhale is whining about being rated dumb on my profile, and then proceeded to call me "dumb as fuck" and is now stalking my posts and rating them all boxes. pro facepuncher right there.
doesn't matter if it does, if you're remote desktopping to linux you're doing it wrong
ok guys by this I meant you should be using SSH or whatever and not a remote desktop viewer for most linux remote viewing. Especially something as simple as bitmining that you have to use command line programs for anyways.

I think a lot of people misunderstand what purpose ratings serve. They're essentially the most common posts people make ("I agree", "You're dumb - fuck you", "That's late", etc) in a condensed form. It keeps the forums from being flooded with too many simple repetitive posts - imagine you many "^ this" posts we'd get without the agree rating. It lets people express very common opinions/sentiments without taking up an actual post.
Sure, back when you could see how many times a user had been rated __ over his lifetime, and everyone had a little badge of their most common post, it made sense to care about ratings at least a bit. But now that it's essentially recordless, it's pointless to give a fuck.

I agree with this.
you're the one who cares that i rate your posts dumb
no, thats not how it works. i found it funny how you were whining about being rated dumb for your dumb posts, then you go around and do the same thing. i dont actually give a shit, it just serves to show how much of an idiot you are.
another failed argument "he's using a mac lololol"
im saying he is biased because he is using a mac, and obviously is going to disagree with my argument (about the dock being too big) because of it. by extension he is also disagreeing that you were whining because he thought you had a valid complaint when i rated you dumb, 2 or so pages ago.
most people prolly agree, its pretty funny to see some guy come on your visitor wall then cry about ratings. that was my original reason for posting it in this thread, of course your use of strawmen arguments and ad hominems and turned this into a circus. lets just stop so the thread doesn't have to deal with this shit.
anyone else never use the my documents folder and HATE it when programs default there?
I actually have an "Actual Documents" folder in my documents folder, where actual documents go, since the documents folder is usually clogged up by stupid game saves.

How is anyone supposed to be able to find their documents in this mess?
