yes, i think someone using a mac with a dock WOULD in fact disagree with my opinion based statement about the size of the dock being too big for my preference.
will you guys stop being redic, this is getting silly.
im saying he is biased because he is using a mac
wow
I still use Windows and Linux very often, and I like them both. Just because I am using a Mac means that if it something Mac related, I'm going to side with the argument that favors Macs? No.

you can RESIZE IT, what do you not realize about this
automerge :argh:
I'm going through my dad's old vinyl collection, and after recording a side to a single track in Audacity, I'll select one song and export selection, then enter all the metadata. I flip over the "Purple Rain" album by Prince to look at the song titles, it's NOT Comic Sans, but if the yellow shadows don't bother you, the fact that every single song title is in a different font will. On top of that, it's very hard to read because of the extremely busy background...

A larger picture would be nice.
only one I could find on google images, let me try taking a picture of it myself...
I'm starting to think that a daily scan with MBAM is a bit overkill..
I actually have an "Actual Documents" folder in my documents folder, where actual documents go, since the documents folder is usually clogged up by stupid game saves.

I just save all of my actual documents to my dropbox. Insanely useful, since I can access them from anywhere and they are always safe
here's a larger picture I took with my camera, the exposure was a bit high, so the picture came out dim, you can't really see the yellow shadow on all the text, but you can still see how the background makes it very hard to read in spots... (linked for massive image)

That's part of the image, which I cropped out. It's in the same spot on both.
I know this is late, I know, but it's probably a hot pixel, try warming up the camera before and while you use it.

Programs are actually supposed to put their user related files into the user's AppData folder where they are not in the user's way. Computer wide settings should be put in C:\ProgramData.

I just keep my documents in Dropbox, then make a shortcut in the favourites list. This way, all my school notes are safe as soon as I save them, I don't have to muck around with flash drives and I know exactly where they are on every computer. Couldn't be easier.
I just came back from a formal mess dinner. We had name tags on the tables to denote where everyone was sitting and lo and behold, the font was Comic Sans. I said "COMIC SAAAAAAAAAANSSSS!!" after I noticed this but no one got it. :smith:
I just keep my actual documents in D:\Documents.
I've transformed "C:\Users\lavacano201014\My Documents\My Games" into a symlink to "D:\Games\!Save Library", then let everything in the C:\Users folder obliterate itself when I reformat.

"formal mess dinner"?
where do you live/what do you do
[sp]I can see you live in Canada, I mean more specifically[/sp]
"formal mess dinner"?

I can't really reveal much. I live in BC and I'm not royalty or rich or anything like that, it was just a mess dinner for a group I'm with.
I mean, what's wrong with mac users in this thread? I got one because:
1. It was free
2. My PC is a piece of shit and i'm waiting for my new one
Shooter got his for almost free, for such low prices they are perfectly fine machines.

They're perfectly fine if you can get one cheap, however, paying full price for one is just dumb when you can get a PC of similar or better specs for cheaper.

nothing at all, im not sure why some people took my post that way.
[editline]13th June 2011[/editline]
oh god i hope i dont start this shit again. to be clear, there is nothing wrong with the action of using a mac.
I think using a mac is like using a very restricted computer at school.
It's annoying as hell, slow, buggy and fiddly, but it gets the job done and you don't have to use it forever.
Using a mac is fine as long as:
A: You didn't pay full price for it under your own choice
B: You don't go showing it about and bragging as if it's sacrilegious
[editline]13th June 2011[/editline]
Both these rules counteract eachother, so if you chose to buy one and don't show it off, you're fine
But if you got it free and brag about it to everyone, there's a problem
I did a bit of research and apparently the dock is integrated into a lot of the GUI functions, so if you kill the dock, you also kill stuff like the wallpaper and the cmd+tab functionality.
What I managed to do is clean it out, auto-hide it, shrink it, and (with TweakTools) relocate it.

It's not too bad now. I can live with it.
Damn, I think I might have a look for a complete shell replacement, I know they exist for Linux and Windows, just about every good OS really.
I just save all of my actual documents to my dropbox. Insanely useful, since I can access them from anywhere and they are always safe
And then add it to the Documents library and set it as the default location (it's in Dutch but you get the idea):

Most programs default to the Documents library, rather than just My Documents. If you're on Windows 7, that is.
Someone on Steam messaged me explaining that their video card might have failed.
I asked them to try re-seating their card and make sure that all power connections are secure, and then added to check the CMOS setup and ensure that the primary video adapter is set to that of their video card.
After half an hour he logged back into Steam and said that it didn't work, and then added: "My card was taped to the motherboard, it was a real hassle trying to re-seat it because of that. The weird thing is, there was a slot which one end of the tape fit perfectly into on my card and no other slot on the computer matched it."
I wouldn't have laughed so hard at that if he wasn't going to major in Computer Science.

While Apple screens do look nice and has good display quality, It's two pretty obvious things that bothers me:
Price, Pretty self explanatory since it's apple
And that unused space where the apple is located, Seriously, That has to be like 15 % of the screens space that is not used for anything except the logo

Pretty sure that's one of their all in one PCs and they probably needed extra room for components, could be wrong - i dont actively follow apple products.

Now why couldn't they use the apple as the power button?

Might be that, I don't really follow either, But could they not have made it a bit thicker in that case. Just seems like a stupid use of space to me
Now why couldn't they use the apple as the power button?
Are you kidding
That's a whole $15 extra monthly cost for power button components!
