Are you kidding That's a whole $15 extra monthly cost for power button components!
Seriously though, "Poke the apple" is simpler than "Give your computer a reach around".
I actually have an "Actual Documents" folder in my documents folder, where actual documents go, since the documents folder is usually clogged up by stupid game saves. How is anyone supposed to be able to find their documents in this mess?
I like having my files where Windows wont delete them on format. Also I like things being organized. Inside Applications there's Audio, Video, Programming, etc. Pictures, Music, Documents and the like are completely empty or only have Windows files + game saves.
How come you misspelled Applications on your folder name but not in your post?
Did that long ago, if I rename it a bunch of my shortcuts break :saddowns: [editline]13th June 2011[/editline] What? I wasn't page king for like two minutes straight.
Having used fancy IPS monitors for some time now (dell u2311h) I feel I've been spoiled. Recently I got a laptop, it's a lenovo thinkpad L412. Now, I've always heard lenovo stand for pretty good quality but the screen on this thing is just horrible! Not just the screen but some software is fucking up too, I woke up this morning and turn it on, only to find that it's all fucked up like someone turned contrast, gamma and brightness aaaaaaaall the fucking way up. The tab-address-bookmark bar on chrome was bright white and reading anything hurt my eyes. I go into the intel HD-graphics settings and turn contrast down as low as it will go, lower gamma and brightness and what was too bright now looks reasonable, but now everything else is too fucking dark! I'll have to spend some time with this to make it look acceptable, Curse all TN panels!
I think using a mac is like using a very restricted computer at school. It's annoying as hell, slow, buggy and fiddly, but it gets the job done and you don't have to use it forever.
I can't tell if that's a bad analogy or what, but are you saying that all macs are buggy and fiddly and restricted? I don't want to start another argument over Mac vs PC, but my MBP is the best and most reliable computer ive ever owned, and is not restricted at all; anything a PC a Mac can do, and anything a Mac can do a PC can. All of the annoyances I find in Windows are not there, however I still don't like how there is no thing like Windows + L on Mac :argh:
You can't overclock a Mac, either :smug: Not that you necessarily would want to but w/e.....
You can't overclock a Mac, either :smug: Not that you necessarily would want to but w/e.....
You can with software *cringe*.

[editline]13th June 2011[/editline]
You can't overclock a Mac, either :smug: Not that you necessarily would want to but w/e.....
Can't really overclock a prebuilt PC well either.
Few years ago my cousin who is like 8 or something gifted me this floppy disk which had bunch of game shortcuts in it and some car pictures
Few years ago my cousin who is like 8 or something gifted me this floppy disk which had bunch of game shortcuts in it and some car pictures
That's fucking stupid. I always realize how much I hate kids :v:
Few years ago my cousin who is like 8 or something gifted me this floppy disk which had bunch of game shortcuts in it and some car pictures
Someone kid (back then) I know did something like that too. He sent me a shortcut to the Windows XP sample pictures folder...
Woo! Just ordered my computer parts from Newegg.
Few years ago my cousin who is like 8 or something gifted me this floppy disk which had bunch of game shortcuts in it and some car pictures
A long time ago, I tried to copy the whole 'The Sims' file into a floppy and I raged because it keeps on failing.
I never understood why my 1 hour of mp3's (about 70mb) wouldn't fit on a 700mb cd. (Now i do)
Guess who went into school to work on a project with mr. K, who then said I could just have the D40 today? I kept making the size too big and ended up with like 10mb files. v:v:v
Hey guys content!!
Well TBH overclocking might be disabled on the mobo in a pre-built.
Well TBH overclocking might be disabled on the mobo in a pre-built.
And in >75% of the time, they are.
i think what he means is that you can't really overclock well on a crappy prebuilt.
I would consider a mac mini (starting from 700€), but I have no idea why I'd use a mac over my regular windows pc. [editline]13th June 2011[/editline] which macbook would have the longest batterylife?
i think what he means is that you can't really overclock well on a crappy prebuilt.
Exactly, I'm sorry if I made it appear as content :v:
Are you saying a Celeron D doesn't overclock very well? Stop the presses!

[editline]13th June 2011[/editline] which macbook would have the longest batterylife?
Whereas with MBPs you're getting a very nice (yes, overpriced) laptop, there's absolutely no reason to get a Mini. They are rificulously overpriced. Does anyone know how to get into the BIOS of a MBP?

Mac's can't even boot from a USB Stick :\ [editline]13th June 2011[/editline] Anyways, was browsing youtube and stumbled up on this: AGP to PCIe x16 you say? It took me half the video to figure out they were just replacing the mobo.
I had my math finals today. It was a 40 page exam. The entire thing was in comic sans. :suicide:
Mac's can't even boot from a USB Stick :\
Can you not get Bootcamp to do that? I've seen a few threads on ubuntu users doing it.
Macbook Pro 13" Mac mini's are great for server use, the small form makes them cost quite a bit though
I would rather have a dual core atom micro ATX motherboard, and spend most of the money on storage and a nice case.
