It happened
I think it was more my sis going oh shit what do I do now and randomly deleting stuff though.
I got paid to fix it and delete that 100 gigs of random shit she downloaded though, all because I said it needed to be sent to a repair shop
no, this didn't happen. You can't delete system32 you buttdumpling
no, this didn't happen. You can't delete system32 you buttdumpling
You can delete system32.
Bleargh, my ADSL died randomly.
Good thing I live in Finland, free unlimited mobile broadband to save the day, can't be arsed to go reset the modem.
EDGE is painfully slow though, this USB dongle doesn't get that great of a reception.
You can delete system32.
No you cannot
Everything's possible if you try hard enough. :ohdear:
It isn't in 7, but I think it was on XP
[editline]13th June 2011[/editline]
I may be wrong on this
No you cannot
What about all of those trolls that try to convince people to delete system32? There would be no reason to get people to do that if it wasn't even possible in the first place, right?

It is on XP I think, though I'm pretty sure it'll stop you if you try to do just a normal right click -> delete. I think a batch file will do the trick though.
Quick! Somebody make an XP virtual machine so we can test!

Oh wait, using the del command does work!

So unless you're a silly person who knows how to use the command prompt and not know that System32 is a critical folder then this is pretty unlikely.
No you cannot
Awesome, the compster was right!

So I was right in assuming you could use a batch file/command prompt to do it. Cool.
Well at least we can find out whether or not renaming important .dlls actually causes issues.
I'm testing that right now.

His OS icon just changed from XP to ?.
I think the theory could be proven now. Either that or he's trolling and using user agent changers.
[editline]14th June 2011[/editline]
Nevermind, he's back.
Might be a troll though. I don't think someone that dumb would use Windows 7 AND Opera.
I highly doubt his sister went into run and did a del command on system32

Maybe she followed 4chan troll bait?

I like how he assumes that hammer editor is an engine that runs games.

Gentlemen, you know what to do.
content from notch:
Again, if you weren’t ware, the “modding api” is the entire source code for Minecraft, uncensored and unobfuscated. You need to agree to certain terms to get access, though, but anyone can apply.
you just know someone in the first wave of modders is gonna leak it to a torrent provider

I don't see why Notch doesn't just release it to everyone.
His game is copyrighted, if anyone stole his code he could just sue them until their great grandfather comes back from the dead to spank him with a wet fish. All he has to do is put a download link in the buyers-only page that has Minecraft+Sourcecode on it.
