Well. Earlier today, I was looking for a school computer that wasn't already logged into, locked or missing hardware when I saw a computer that nobody had touched. Naturally I went to try and log on when I saw the screen that went along the lines of: A critical file/folder is missing or corrupted: System32. Not only that, but students don't have access to that area of the computer. Therefore, either the Librarian or the IT man himself did it.
You do have acces to it if you just take a bootable usb/cd/dvd and open the recovery console.
Yeah. But no-one has the resources of intelligence to do so, or contemplate how a usb, cd or dvd works, let alone the recovery console.
Yeah. But no-one has the resources of intelligence to do so, or contemplate how a usb, cd or dvd works, let alone the recovery console.
as far as you know atleast
:iiam:
as far as you know atleast
No, really. No-one knows how things work here. People think Sketchup is some revolutionary game, people try installing easily traceable games onto the school computers, everyone uses Comic Sans and, worst of all, I got told not to "hack" when I went on ApertureScience.com.
No you cannot
install takeownership.reg. Right click on system 32, hit take ownership. shift+delete it. Profit.
I got told not to "hack" when I went on ApertureScience.com.
Somebody called me a hacker when we were using flash Because gotoAndPlay(64) really looks like some CIA busting shit right there :v:
Show them Reg Query HKLM -s
Did that in my school last year. Not a good Idea.
My daddy who is always averaging prices on computer parts/etc... : "A 50-60€ PSU? hell no take this 20€ one or take the PSU+Case bundle for 45€" "A 650€ 15.6' (ASUS) laptop? Take this 17.3' laptop (assuming it's an HP/Acer one) for 400€" Once a item is above his own average price, whatever its quality, it's too expensive for him. I know you are into bureautic computers in your own work, but god damn, not everyone has the same standard (and the same needs) than yours, dad. Especially when it's not paid with your money.

guy came into my work the other day asking a bunch of questions about computers, some i could answer but one he asked was something about overclocking cpu's or some-such thing i wasn't to sure on this one so i told him i didn't know, (don't want to give him wrong information after all) can someone tell me what it means to overclock? i'm guessing, it's something like making your computer faster than it is, or should be? why the dumb tratzzz?
Stupid me put the fans in backwards :v:

I think I made stuff like that with tizag within a few hours. Also <STRONG> ON EVERYTHING [editline]14th June 2011[/editline]
guy came into my work the other day asking a bunch of questions about computers, some i could answer but one he asked was something about overclocking cpu's or some-such thing i wasn't to sure on this one so i told him i didn't know, (don't want to give him wrong information after all) can someone tell me what it means to overclock? i'm guessing, it's something like making your computer faster than it is, or should be? oh, he also said he was going to buy alienware /facepalm
I can't give you specifics but overclocking is basically making something work harder to get more out of it. For example: a CPU has 4 cores with 3GHz out of the package. You could overclock those cores to 4GHz
Local store sells 250gb external usb harddrives, for fucking 59 euro. For that price you can buy a 1TB Spinpoint f3 and a external case.
i noticed some people were talking about 'smart boards' a few pages back. the thing is, i'm in the one of the biggest public secondary colledges in my state, yet it doesn't have a single one of these boards. yet all the teched-out primary schools have them so they can 'educate' the little ones how to dress themselves while we use almost-always-broken projectors that don't have the roll-down white screen to learn mathematical methods :argh:

most if not all projector screens on my school are broken. They've either been ripped out, torn to shreds or just won't roll out any more. And lets just say that considering I'm following an IT study and the only things we have are whiteboards and projectors. Doesn't really make much sense.

And read the reviews :v:
This 3-metre MC370-3M cable lets you connect an external hard drive with a female DVI jack to a peripheral with a female VGA entry.
