No no no nobody else do that please
Where did it come from? I've wanted to know for some time.
Kill him
Nah, he's a one big idiot, but he's still my dad. It's just sad when I want to discuss hardware or having some advices from him, he's always questionning about the price (never about why I need this component and for what use. Never these questions). Hell, I think he wouldn't even know about the whole Intel i core series if I didn't talk to him once.
you just know someone in the first wave of modders is gonna leak it to a torrent provider
Notch can check the torrent file and find out which person it belongs to. I think I remember him talking about how it worked. [editline]14th June 2011[/editline]
Well here's some actual content now http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1096119-Hammer-Editor-Sucks!-Take-A-Look-at-this-Engine! I like how he assumes that hammer editor is an engine that runs games.

If it sucked, it couldn't do wonderful things, I'm just saying that Source is still an incredibly powerful engine, and regardless of whether it's outdated, it can still give modern games like Portal 2 stunning visuals. Unity, I was messing with that one for a while. I remember it was pretty straight forward, but the engine is primarily designed for open environments as far as I remember, or at least it excels with them, a powerful engine, but not something I would compare with Source, simply because of all the differences in use and functionality. (Also, you don't win an argument by calling the other people Dumb, Civil.)
I hate it when people say that. Source has terrible graphics, but has excellent art direction. The stunning visuals are from the art team with their ability to make source actually look good. Otherwise, Source looks really bad for the most part.

Not brown & gray = terrible?
Not brown & gray = terrible?
Where did you come to that conclusion? I'm saying that source only measures up to most other engines and games for their amazing art team able to fit as much good looking textures and animations as they can into their outdated engine. If valve released Portal 2 on a current gen 'Source 2' I think we'd all be blown away.
my need to sync to my dad's Mac every week or so
Your what?
Content: http://www.deakthegeek.com/ One of the worst website designers, and he is actually in business. All his websites are centered text with links on the right. http://www.lakeshorecelebration.com/ http://www.hamburgfunfest.com/index.html http://www.carpetdepot.bz/ Don't even dare looking at the source code.
I think it looks kinda classy [editline]14th June 2011[/editline] Just like GTA 4 ingame sites
:ohdear: I was visiting my grandmother and needed to borrow her laptop to check a thing. When i clicked the start menu button on the keybord i thought the computer had frozen, But the mouse still moved. I thought for a few seconds and THEN, After something like 7 - 10 seconds, the menu appears, Loading the same way as a PNG on dial up, Slow as fuck I don't even want to know what has been done to the poor thing
You'r what?
You'r grammer?
And that unused space where the apple is located, Seriously, That has to be like 15 % of the screens space that is not used for anything except the logo
Ever wondered where the hardware on that thing is?
I hate it when people say that. Source has terrible graphics, but has excellent art direction. It's the artists that matter, not the engine. If I make a box, even if you give it ray tracing, it's still an ugly box.
Ever wondered where the hardware on that thing is?
No, But would it not be smarter to do it a bit thicker instead of having that much unused space
You'r grammer?
:irony:

Told friend that I was going to OC my GPU. He: Lol, are you going to fuck it up? Me: No. He: Why not? Me: I don't know how. My friend once OC-d his GPU and failed. He needed to boot into Safe Mode and remove the clocks :v:
What about my combination? :v:
Your combo is just stupid. His is literally dangerous and stupid.
guy came into my work the other day asking a bunch of questions about computers, some i could answer but one he asked was something about overclocking cpu's or some-such thing i wasn't to sure on this one so i told him i didn't know, (don't want to give him wrong information after all) can someone tell me what it means to overclock? i'm guessing, it's something like making your computer faster than it is, or should be? why the dumb tratzzz?
It's when you increase the clock frequency (how many times current goes through the CPU per second simply explained). CPU makers specify a stable frequency, but you can often increase it a bit further, and even further if you increase the voltage.
EA has finally opened their mouth about the exclusive DLC for BF3. Is the threat of a boycott working?
why the dumb tratzzz?
Because if you work as somebody like a computer technician, you should know what OC means. Or if you know a bit more about computers, you usually know what OC means. OC is Overclocking, overclocking is making your CPU and GPU faster, by increasing clock rates.
seriously, it upsets me when I can't find a job and some illiterate has one at a PC place
I got a job at a 'technician' at this job. We don't do as much trouble shooting as I'd like. It's more: "oh virus, Reimage." "Mouse not working, new mouse. Mouse still not working, reimage" "bluescreen, reimage. Still bluescreen, new computer." Very wasteful for the most part, but our amount of work tends be low. It allows me to read plenty and work on expanding my knowledge of most things.
I had a German exam today which had a lot of "letters" in it which we then had to answer questions about. All the letters were written in Comic Sans, I wanted to get up and just yell
Reminds me of the time my class had to help correct some bullshit and it was all written in comic sans. We screamed COMIC SAAAAANS when the teacher went to get more bullshit for us to correct.

I can imagine that you would want to get back to work as fast as possible (or at least the boss would want you to do that). Then it's probably faster to just reformat the PC if you already have a image of a functional install ready. That way you don't have to wait for a tech to troubleshoot, and as long as there are backups then it's faster What i tend to believe anyway. Our school techs do the same

He pops them into a USB port and hits the power button, then it automatically loads Norton Ghost and writes the image to the hard drive. I would say that's easier than fiddling around with drivers.
I heard somewhere a 6950 can be 'unlocked' to a 6970-is this true? If so, I may buy one.
