I took a blue led from a flashlight, but it was 2mm instead of the original 1mm for my case so i made the hole bigger. That evening my whole room was blue. Luckily i got several old computers, one of them with the same case, so i just took that front panel off.
Ordering all this shit tomorrow :woop:

Should have got an ASUS or MSI mobo.
Hmm. Let me see what they have
ASUS P8P67 range is pretty awesome but MSI's EFI is better I found.
They have a nice Asus one, but it's a tad more expensive than this Intel mobo. I'll just stick with it, I've used Intel's motherboards before and I have had no problems
[editline]14th June 2011[/editline]
What's so special about MSI or Asus motherboards?
[editline]14th June 2011[/editline]
Anyway, do you think I would need a bigger PSU? The GPU requires at least a 500W PSU, so it's just barely fitting the need
Why a 460 instead of a 560 (Ti)?
Monies.
[editline]14th June 2011[/editline]
And I don't need such a card, really

I have a 500gb Spinpoint and it makes my face happy--bit loud though. If I were to get a 1tb one, could I transfer my partitions to it? v:v:v
I just got a weird train of thought. I was checking my PC's temp, I thought it was a bit higher then normal. Then i thought that my CPU could be as warm as a stove under very heavy load.
Soo, If i were to find some parts (almost scrap) and put them together and run them as warm as i could without the thing turning off..
Then maybe i could fry an egg on the CPU
Probably a stupid idea but an entertaining one :v:
IT IS TIME FOR A DUMB THOUGHT.
I've got a massive fan grille on the side of my case. There's no fan there and it gets dusty, however, there appears to be no kind of fan mount there. How would I go about sticking a fan in there?

Drill some holes?

The ghetto way eh? I may try that. :v:

and get some kind of filter so it doesn't get clogged up in dust.

Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: It's not so much "transferring partitions" as "making partitions on the new drive then just moving all the data over." With Windows partitions you may have to use some fancy software (if so, don't worry if the destination partition is bigger, it will still work). For data partitions you can just copy-paste all your data from point A to point B (make sure you formatted the partition first though). For Linux partitions it's the same deal as data partitions, but run `grub-install --no-floppy /dev/<NEW_HD_HERE>` afterwards so you can boot.
Look what i thought was a good idea

Slipstreaming about 90 updates for my XP disk on this piece of scrap

specs are
CPU: Intel celeron 128k 2.8GHZ
motherboard: intel d845GLAD
HDD: some maxtor 30GB
RAM: 2x 256MB PC2100 DDR
PSU: some waste of resources dell PSU from 2002
and to get this far took 4 hours and there was not enough USB ports on the board to plug in my external DVDRW, mouse and USB drive (that had the updates on). To sort that i had to steal the front USB sockets from a case.
I'm stuck on my dad's iPad right now (My dad is currently sitting on the Mac selling stuff on eBay) , and it's YouTube player is irritating the hell out of me. It should not take this thing 8 minutes to stream a 1 minute video at 480p on a 20mb/s connection.
Also, spellcheck is rather irritating as well. It kept "correcting" GTX as FTC.

that's because it's using a lazily ported phone OS
Its the same on the iPod touch.

seriously, 1333mhz VALUE SELECT ram? Barely 30kr more gets you 1600mhz kingston HyperX and 60kr more gets you this: http://www.dustinhome.dk/pd_5010331609.aspx
I know for a FACT that the XMS3 modules overclock like a boss, my 1333mhz sticks that I bought over a year ago do 2000mhz 9-11-9-27 easily at 1.65V, these newer 1600mhz modules should do that with lower timings.
That value select ram aint gonna overclock for shit, and I assume you will be doing overclocking because you're getting the i5 2500K.
Don't shoot yourself in the foot by cheaping out on the ram.
Oh yeah also get a better mobo since you're gonna overclock dat 2500k.
http://www.dustinhome.dk/pd_5010552348.aspx if you insist on m-atx.
if you're not gonna overclock ignore what I said but for the love of god get the normal 2500 then.
It would pain me to see that processor with that other hardware, un-overclocked.
that's because it's using a lazily ported phone OS
how does it being a "lazily ported phone OS" have anything to do with it's autocorrect? Even on devices other than the iPad it does that
-snip, idiotic-
Sweet, the PSU is instock. Finally going to order tomorrow, and assuming I get paid early in the day, I'll order with 2 day shipping and better fucking get it friday to build and play over the weekend. What do you all think of the parts?

What heatsink are you using?
Thermalright Ultra 120. I was going to put either a Noctua NF-P14, NF-P12, or some sort of quiet scythe slipstream.
The 120 cools my Q66 passively with rather good temps, I would think it could handle a 2600k with a decent fan. Do I need to think about upgrading? I'd buy a H100 but they aren't out yet. The H100 would work perfectly with my black design.
