Fixed. I wonder how Nintendo's going to manage all the heat, R770 isn't exactly the most efficient line of cards :v:
you're thinking of the gtx 480.
:foxnews:Turns out it was Valve that pulled Crysis 2 from Steam. http://www.giantbomb.com/steam/92-718/crysis-2-and-others-disappear-from-steam-eas-relationship-with-steam-unknown-updated/35-502206/ :foxnews: More as it comes up, I'm FlakTheMighty, and this is your game bit of CIPWTTKT.
I find it a slightly too big of a coincidence that Crysis 2 gets pulled from Steam and then suddenly on the same moment the "Only on Origin" advertisements begin. Fuck EA, I'm not getting their stupid-ass piece of shit service, I've already used their bullshit because of Bad Company 2 and I just can't trust them with this. Also happens to be the only reason why I won't be getting Battlefield 3.
A Person: For the "only on Origin" guy, show him it doesn't say that anymore for Crysis 2.

My friend wanted me to show this to you.
A Person: For the "only on Origin" guy, show him it doesn't say that anymore for Crysis 2.

EA is probably trying to negotiate with Valve, at least I hope so. I don't want to have to use Origin to get EA games on the rare occasion that I do; I like to keep it all in one place (Steam)
OK, got my shit ordered. Should be here soon, probably by Friday. And it's started making sparky noises. I'm thinking unplugging it is probably a good idea, now.
I ordered my shit also! :buddy: although its shipping from New York. It better be at my doorstep in Minnestoa by Friday night.
My friend wanted me to show this to you.
Tell your friend that I honestly don't give a shit, I won't buy Crysis 2 unless they stop bullshitting their fucking customers and bring it back to Steam.
Is there anything just like https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/elioihkkcdgakfbahdoddophfngopipi but for firefox?

^That doesn't help, as I have already tried like four different extensions, all of which were bad. Anyway I didn't realize this was the Computer Illiterate thread.. I'm dumb
This is also the general chat, however, there's a separate thread for small questions. http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1089163-The-quot-Quick-Questions-that-does-not-Deserve-a-Thread-quot-...Thread.-V2 [editline]16th June 2011[/editline] Also just modify them yourself to your liking, then?
This really doesnt mean that valve pulled it.

Instead, EA claims Steam "imposed a set of business terms" that resulted in an existing agreement Crytek had regarding Crysis 2 that "violates the new rules," resulting in the "expulsion" of Crysis 2.
Yeah, EA disagreed with Steam terms so EA took it down basically
its quite possible there was just a change in terms which probably happen fairly often, and EA took the chance to disagree to pin the blame. both EA and Valve (and all other devs/pubs going through steam) would be on NDAs about the agreement itself, so valve cant really release the terms so EA can just play the victim. only a possiblity of course, either could be true, just dont act like this is proof.
So, who is eviller: EA or Activision?
So, who is eviller: EA or Activision?
Activision.
Activision.
Well, since I figured that, since I'll be using my old desktop, I should probably finish moving all my data over to that new, bigger hard drive. Currently, it's copying all my porn. Which actually isn't much - the entire hard drive it was on was 20GB, and porn was barely 10% of it (most was surprisingly empty - much of the rest was occupied by DOSBox). It's all being copied over to my shiny new 120GB drive. OK, maybe not new, but it's shiny. And bigger than I used to have. I'll probably use the 20GB drive for experimental OS installation - I wonder how ReactOS runs nowadays. Or maybe dig up my Windows 95 install disk. Anyways, the copy, for some reason, is making my old desktop unresponsive. So I'm sitting here back on my laptop (it managed to fully charge, thankfully), trying not to type too hard since that will make the cable jiggle just enough to disconnect. After I finish the copy, I'll be setting my laptop in a very, very sturdy location, and looking up how to access Samba shares from OpenBSD. Do that, pipe the music on my laptop into mpg123, and I might actually survive until my new charger comes in.
So, who is eviller: EA or Activision?
Activision. EA has a cycle. Please fans. Keep pleasing them. Make them love us. NOW FUCKING SUFFER While Activision has always believed in us suffering.
I'm just wondering why COD got so popular, its crap.
Pepper;30485103']I'm just wondering why COD got so popular, its crap.
Its like the crack cocaine of FPS games
Pepper;30485103']I'm just wondering why COD got so popular, its crap.
Modern Warfare 2's development budget: $50,000,000 Modern Warfare 2's advertising budget: $200,000,000
Right-click image. Middle-click the "View Image" button, just like it was a link. It opens the image in a new tab, instead of the current tab. That was actually one of the things I disliked about Chrome - the "middle-click opens in new tab" wasn't constant, wasn't universal. It was like they didn't fully believe in that idea. In Firefox, almost ANYTHING can be middle-clicked to open it in a new tab. Minor gripe, yeah, but still something that bugged me. Of course, I'm typing this in Lynx, so what do I know?
All these years I've been using firefox, and I didn't know I could middle-click (I assume ctrl-click works as well?) view image... I've always done copy image location, then opened a new tab, then pasted it in... I feel stupid now.
Pepper;30485103']I'm just wondering why COD got so popular, its crap.
Modern Warfare was pretty fun. It wasn't as quick and arcade like the newer ones. It was faster pace than a tactical shooter, but slow enough to where, sitting in a nice spot with a sniper rifle was fun. A friend and I created a class that was unstoppable when we played as a team and it was a blast. I bought Modern Warfare 2 I think it was and it just sucked penis.
oh shit oh shit figured out why the copy was taking so long CPU fan was being blocked by a stray cable been like that for a while now apparently can't get it to boot fan is hot enough to burn faint smell of smoke letting it cool off now, hope it isn't permanently damaged

Which would be a bummer.
Friend of mine made a video:
Wait, how did he win? He was holding a can of norton...
Wait, how did he win? He was holding a can of norton...
He didn't. You can see it blink as the screen fades. :v: Actually, in retrospect maybe it was just closing it's eyes. Whatever. Interpret how you will.
Depending on what lubricant was used, it might have degraded from the heat. Which would be a bummer.
Well, as evidenced by my current browser icon (or, more accurately, lack thereof), it's working again. To be completely honest, I don't think this thing even HAS thermal paste on it. Just a small heatsink and a tiny fan. I finished copying over my files, and found a few interesting ones. In particular, articles I'd written ~4 years ago when I was planning to start a blog. They're all game-development related stuff, interesting predecessors to my now-famous/infamous posts. I might put some of them up, eventually. They're interesting reads, even though I kinda disagree with myself a bit, now. And my spelling wasn't as good back then. They're relatively small. The longest, "On Controllers", is just 1200 words. "On The Value Of Bad Games" is just 500 (probably unfinished, then). Anyone interested in seeing them?
