Speedfan (and the BIOS) says my +12V Rail is actually 4.93V, is that even possible without the pc crashing?
Content:
Today, i found a webpage advertising an internet security program open on my browser.... again. These have been opening overnight for quite some time, and i had finally decided that it was NOT my brother/family opening them. so, i ran a malewarebytes scan, and lo and behold, all my antivirus programs begin firing on all cylinders, opening up multiple "threat detected!" windows. thing is, when i scanned these or tried to do anything, the programs made a copy of themselves on the original file, then one copy on the file i tried to move it to. how the hell can i deal with this? it's really fucking annoying, and nothing i do seems to work. here is an avg window that i was talking about.
I guess he didn't read all of the warnings when he installed Metasploit.
That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard, and it really angers me that your government would waste money on such a useless piece of technology. oh, and happy birthday 343N
A lot of the time, schools get grants for different things. The gym may have new basketballs and stuff, while your English class has books from the 80s that are falling apart. In this case, they must have been granted a technology budget, which they they have to use on technology. In this case, they used it on iPads. You may want to say "Hurrrrr Apple sucks, the iPad is useless", though I would assume they would be excellent for schools. Think about it. It has a large colour screen with no moving parts (Except for some durable buttons). If they get say, textbooks on the device, they will stay perfect. I don't know about you, though I absolutely hate lugging around textbooks with me. They're heavy, large and take up a lot of room on my desk. Having digital versions saves space. Additionally, they can stay up to date. One thing that I like doing in English classes is reading an audiobook while I'm reading the hard copy, since I absorb the information much better (Through two senses). With an iPad, you could do all that without any extra work. Notes can be copied to online services like Google Docs, so they're safer than your physical notes. Internet research no longer requires signing out laptop carts or a computer lab, since everyone has access already. For math and science, Wolfram alpha and graphing programs are VERY good compared to the POS that is the TI-83. Drawing a sine graph is fucking slow, it's amazing that these things are still sold for over $100. Then there's the cost. Okay, so they're expensive initially. Though if you factor in textbook costs, the cost of sets of graphing calculators, the costs of maintaining computer labs, the costs of repairing laptops, ect. You might find that the iPads are a fairly nice solution. If they allow students to install their own apps on it, I would imagine they would take MUCH better care of an iPad than they would a textbook and binder. I see students here have that have their binder ripped to shreds because they just throw it wherever, how much do you want to bet that their phone is in great shape? Personally, I wouldn't want to buy one myself since I already have a 12" Asus netbook with a fairly decent keyboard, Microsoft Word 2007 and Dropbox (Syncing everything between my computers and phone, which allows me to study anywhere). However, if I was provided one by my school, I might give it a shot.

A lot of kids don't give a shit regardless. Since just about everyone buys phones with contracts and insurance here, they can easily get new phones for less than the retail price. As long as mommy and daddy pay for their stuff, they don't care about it. I'm sure a lot of kids would end up destroying an iPad within a few weeks of owning it. They didn't pay for it, so why should they care what happens to it? Of course, if the school instates some sort of fee system (and I wouldn't see why they wouldn't) that isn't prohibitively expensive, but expensive enough, that it would wake them up get to the point that they should take care of it.
You actually believe he is serious with that avatar? You actually take me serious with my avatar?
Except he is serious, I've known him since first grade. [editline]16th June 2011[/editline] Two new things, he wants Bad Company 2 for his laptop. And he wanted to know if you had to pay a subscription to play CoD through Steam.
goddamnit I just turned myself into content I finally got around to installing my TV tuner, and I realized I needed an IR blaster if I wanted to actually watch decent TV. (I need to use a STB..) I ordered one of these in hope that it'd work.. http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Go-40432-Infrared-Emitter/dp/B001DF7EC8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1308249854&sr=8-3 But it's a 3.5mm mono jack where the tuner's blaster port needs a 2.5mm jack. :saddowns:

Like, $0.99 cheap.
I was at work, and somebody was looking at motorcycles on this one website for a power sport dealer in town. Take one look at the website, and you'll know what I'm getting at. Man, this computer sucks. I found a port of Frets on Fire. Guess how badly it runs. 4 frames per second. At 400x300 resolution. (That's what you get for making a game in pure Python, morons) Oddly, other games seem OK. Wesnoth runs acceptably, and I even have Warcraft 2 running in DOSBox at playable speeds (might make an actual DOS installation, though, since it's still laggy).
However, Langdell had produced some floppy discs which stored logo, as evidence that it pre-existed the magazine. He claimed that the logo had been published on a “single page catalogue” and a flysheet he used at trade shows, but when asked to show a physical copy said that there was, er, “scarcity of use” pre 1993. But those discs – he’d saved “catalogue” and flysheet onto 5.25″ disc in 1991. He was home free! But wow, it was about to get brilliant. The disc was too delicate to be shipped to the UK, said Dr Tim. Despite it already having been sent across the Atlantic twice. The court ordered him to send it over. And thus Langdell sent the disc to an expert, Mr Steggles of Disklabs, who verified that the disc was indeed from 1991, and said that in his opinion it was “genuinely created at that time.” Surely Langdell was finally onto a winner? Except, well, Future’s expert, Mr Dearsley of Kroll Computers, pointed something out. The content had been created by Windows 95.
Via Rock, Paper, Shotgun Oops.
