I just got this new case and my CPU ambient temp went from 48c to about 31c.
Glorious.

The fan cooling down my GPU is making less noise at full speed than the fan fanning me.
And my brains don't even run at a 100Hz.
Feels bad man.

It's strange considering it doesn't look all that well ventilated.

My current GPU has no fan.
Hell, it doesn't even have a heatsink. Just a bare GeForce 2 chip on an AGP card.
My 6870 is practically silent
The only thing I hear right now is my CPU fan.
I can't even hear my 6870 when I'm playing Bad Company 2 at max settings
Bringing back an old topic:
This BBC documentary I'm watching "Kids Behind Bars" or something. ALL THEIR DISCIPLINARY CARDS AND BULLETIN NOTICES ARE IN COMIC SANS. No wonder these kids aren't learning to behave... They have to put up with Comic Sans.

Let me guess, the only thing you could find good open-source drivers for?
Hurrrrrr
Fuck GPU drivers on Linux.

Uh, I'm running OpenBSD. There are no GPU drivers for ANYTHING. None. I'm not even sure you can run the Linux drivers via the Linux emulation - I think that only works for userland stuff. So it's basically just a framebuffer - I might as well put an actual VGA card in it.
The GeForce was just the only card I had free that still works - my Radeon X700's fried, as is my Radeon 2400. ATI seems to hate me.
Fuck drivers why can't they just be built into the kernel.
Ï have a feeling that's the dumbest idea ever but I can't see a reason right now.
Okay what the hell. I ALT+CTRL+DEL'd to open up task manager an hour ago on that computer with 3 AVs and a missing explorer.exe, I kinda forgot about it.
Then I remember this thing is still on, I go shut it down but I notice something : It's still trying to open up task manager :byodood:
Fuck it, I'm doing a fresh XP install tomorrow.

Aren't most drivers kernel modules? That way the kernel doesn't have to load all of the available drivers, only the ones for your hardware on boot time, but you can still load them while the system is running. Xorg drivers don't seem to be modules though, at least I haven't checked.
Well, there's an nvidiafb module but you can just use the framebuffer directly. Low-level system mechanics, how do they work?

If you're talking about "built into the kernel itself", then the problem is that updating becomes a nightmare. Seriously, have you ever recompiled a kernel? Not easy, and not really feasible on some systems - a full recompile takes hours on my Athlon system.
Certain drivers that basically never change are sometimes done this was. SCSI drivers and ATA drivers are often done this way. But anything you'd ever update, no.
If you're talking "a library that's dynamically loaded into the kernel", then THAT'S WHAT A DRIVER IS.
Think you quoted the wrong person. Just a heads up.
Now, write wikipedia in klingon since you have proved your study of the language.
There actually is one.
For added fun, look at the Klingon Wikipedia's page on Esperanto. That's like two levels of useless languages. Now just add Interlingua and Elvish and you're at Inception-level level-nesting.
Edit:
And for the record, I speak bits and pieces of Klingon, Esperanto, and both Sindarin and Quenya Elvish. Never tried Interlingua.
I'm not fluent in any of them, by any means. I can generally recognize them, and can speak them with a dictionary in one hand, but I'm not conversant or natural at them.
Uploaded my last unboxing video, working on the timelapse video right now. Music is something I try to get right, and it takes so long.
