I know it happens regularly to me, now I just use gyazo to crop my screen then re-upload to imgur. But it has only started happening recently, maybe gyazo got to popular or they're pushing the premium paid version.
I think it's the latter. Just use puush, it's so much better. What it does is the same thing, except allow more options. Plus, it saves the most recent 50 into a file, which you can upload to whatever.
Not to mention that Gyazo images have always been really slow to load for me, and whenever people directly link images to me, there is an ugly Gyazo ad and a paypal button. I'm glad people are beginning to abandon it. [editline]24th August 2011[/editline] Does Puush have Dropbox support?

[editline]24th August 2011[/editline] Does Puush have Dropbox support?
You could probably make a quick batch script or something to bring all the files from the file it saves them in, but I'm not sure if there's support for that already. [editline]24th August 2011[/editline] Yup, you can change the path.
Crashplan ftw, best backup software.
JDownloader
http://code.google.com/p/zscreen/ An awesome image uploader that lets you pick from a range of sites as-well as direct to an ftp server
System Rescue CD http://www.sysresccd.org/Main_Page Forgot password? mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/dicks cd /mnt/dicks/etc nano shadow Delete password No problem
TeraCopy Because the default Windows XP/ Vista/ 7 copying system is fucking terrible in comparison. For large files for high numbers of files TeraCopy is amazingly fast in comparison. And it has the option to pause the transfer. Which should totally have been in Windows anyway and will be in Win8.
Opera Amazing browser, fast, many functions http://www.opera.com/browser/ muCommander Windows explorer replacement with many functions (works on Win/Mac/Linux) http://www.mucommander.com/
Autodesk stuff if you're a student. Dunno how useful it is if you're not interested in 3d graphics but oh well
Manycam is pretty useful.
I'm blown away by the fact that no one has posted this yet: Blender Without a SINGLE doubt my favorite 3D uhm.. Anything program!
Manycam is pretty useful.
It's shit in the state that it is, but useful.
I agree with Blender, although it does like complaining about Python though. :v:
I agree with Blender, although it does like complaining about Python though. :v:
Really? I haven't had any problems with it, not on Windows 7 or my Fedora Rawhide installation.
Linux.
Really? I haven't had any problems with it, not on Windows 7 or my Fedora Rawhide installation.
The cmd window that opens up checks for a specific version of Python, and a specific version of it works with a specific version of blender. after a bit of trial and error, i got the right version. Then i tried yafaray, only for it to be compatible with my version of blender, but not my Python. i removed yafaray after. :suicide: Great program, though!
Linux.
> everything, on netbooks and server builds
I posted the autodesk programs because you can get them for free under a student license.
I can't. Besides, Blender is free regardless of whatever you're doing. Except if you're dead, then it's VERY expensive.
I don't get how they're meant to know you're a student anyway, my school isn't even on the list for 'schools' on their site.
Sandboxie: http://www.sandboxie.com/ Lets you sandbox programs. Useful in a million and one situations. I don't know what I'd do without it. I use it every day. The free version can only have one sandbox(not a big problem) and after 30 days it occasionally nags you when you start it up.
What is it good for, if you know what program should and should NOT run on your computer?
What is it good for, if you know what program should and should NOT run on your computer?
You can sandbox your browser so if some malicious site sneaks a virus in it won't be able to do shit. Some programs you just don't know if they can be trusted or not, and VMs are taxing on resources. You can sandbox games that download things from servers in case you don't want a lot of custom crap littering your TF2 install or something.
But sandboxie is taxing on the resources, right? :v:
Less so than a full VM.
I don't get how they're meant to know you're a student anyway, my school isn't even on the list for 'schools' on their site.
If you are talking about the Autodesk programs then they make sure that you are through your email. I have a .edu email from my school which is an official student email. So I get access to all of their stuff for free. Even if my school isn't in there.
What if you don't have a student email and live outside the US?
Someone said there's a Homeschooled option but I don't know how legal that is.
Instead of defraggler in op, SmartDefrag 2, worked so much better for me. Contig: allows you to defrag singular files/folder, or your entire drive if you shall choose. MalwareBytes: If I ever get some type of infection, this program seems to always pick it up and remove it. Fixed many, many computers with it. Everything: 100x better than windows search (does not replace it completely though.). Search you're entire system for that file instantly, no matter the size. It also supports Regex. TrueCrypt: encryption software for storing data with passwords. CCleaner: All around computer maintenance software, very good. F.lux: Dims and colours your screen to match the time of day. Very nice for brights screens in the dark at night. Unlocker: Great program that can alter files that are in use by programs. Bitmeter2: Monitors your bandwidth in the background and saves the history in graphs. DropBox: Great online backup program that can be used between computers. Rainmeter: Create "skins" to sit on your desktop and relay information such as: cpu usage/temps, memory usage, and much more. FoxitReader: Really great PDF reader. FileZilla: One of the best FTP clients in my opinion. ImgBurn: write image files to cd/dvd with ease. Ditto: Amazing, feature rich clipboard manager that supports many shortcuts. Avast Anti-Virus: As the name says, it's a anti-virus program. The best in my opinion. Has stopped numerous attempted attacks and blocks known infected sites. CPU-Z: acquire information about your system.. GPU-Z: More detailed information about your GPU. HWMontior: Hardware temperature monitor.
Autodesk stuff if you're a student. Dunno how useful it is if you're not interested in 3d graphics but oh well
I remember when you could only get discounted student editions from resellers... In fact, I'm still using a Maya 2008 perpetual student license but it would be amazing to get the latest versions for free. So I created an account, entered the school I attended, received the confirmation email, click it. It leads to a blank page. I try to just log in anyways, the entire students.autodesk.com subdomain is full of blank page until I log out from another page... anyone got the same problem? [editline]27th August 2011[/editline] never mind, I created another account using my school email, connected to Facebook and it works. 28 minutes remaining for the 3ds max download! :v:
