What about "Windows Explosion" (Explosions are usually fast)
I laughed.

I guess I should reply because I laughed too
Why rate me dumb???
Somehow I don't think windows 8 will sell well, they made windows 7 too perfect

Things usually appear perfect at release, then the flaws begin to appear.
The only font in windows 8 is comic sans.
OH SHIT.
So what is this? It's not Windows 8 obviously since Panda said so. (I trust him over some filthy thread stealer.) Just a Windows 7 update or something?
This just in.
Exclusive leaks of the first ad campaign have surfaced. The new UI font Comic Sans is used throughout the whole campaign.

Copy/pasting was quite a large feature I missed in Windows Vista and 7. Good to see Microsoft is starting to acknowledge that Windows XP is better than Vista/7.

Man, i'd pay full price for that!
How do we know that build isn't just a beta of a new service pack?
How do we know that build isn't just a beta of a new service pack?
This is first thing that came in my mind when I saw that :crossarms:
How do we know that build isn't just a beta of a new service pack?
Service packs never increase the build number (with the exception of Vista/08)
Those SP1 72xx builds were for testing the new way of deploying and preparing service packs.
And since the Windows team doesn't just sit on their asses when they're done with one version they actively test new things, toss ideas, proof of concepts, etc. You can find the superbar in its early state in months just after Vista release.
I just started to love Windows 7 though! I remember when Microsoft did free service packs. Now brand new operating systems are just code word for service packs. Sad day :(
Where's mah blackcomb?
Where's mah blackcomb?
Blackcomb will never happen. That codename died very quickly before Longhorn took its place. There was a (god awful) video of its (god awful) interface along with ideas and whatnot.
And despite what wikipedia says Windows 7 was Blackcomb nor Vienna. Vienna was never real and Blackcomb died. Windows 7's codename was Windows Codename "7".

I know right? I mean I had to shell out $500 for all 4 service packs of Win2k, all three of WinXP, both for Vista, and now about $50 for Windows 7 SP1.
What the fuck is that shit?
Well at least my WinFS then. I'm still waiting for MS to change the way I think about computers. I'm not feeling it right now man. At least not with Windows.
Ironically they seem intent on changing the way I think about computers with everything else but Windows. Natal, surface, the touch journal thing, various supercool MS labs projects etc.
Windows Indexing Service is pretty much exactly what WinFS was.
Try WinFS for XP, not all that great and pretty useless. In Longhorn WinFS didn't even work (with the exception of IE6.5's download manager) Libraries were afterwards (when Vista began) switched to the Indexing Service and that lasted until Vista Beta 2 when they took libraries out. Now they've readded them in 7 that functions and runs just like the Libraries in Vista.
It's just that I can't possibly see what's next in a new operating system other than what is in windows 7 right now.
Be glad that Microsoft most likely has some of the best software engineers in the world to think instead of you.
I can't see how my chair can be improved much, but that doesn't mean evolution will stop. One day I'll be levitating in front of my new quantum gaming rig with a 24 core optical CPU and I'll be like "Damn they were narrow-minded back when Windows 7 was out! Windows 11.5 is the new shit. I love how it uses HDD capacity as RAM because the new SSOMFGD HDDs are so blazing fast."
And despite what wikipedia says
Then just edit it, and link the source.
EDIT: Actually the page itself says that the codename was changed from Blackcomb to Windows 7, and then released as 7 officially. I'm not sure what you're on about.

He's saying that Windows 7 should've been Windows Vista done right and released as a service pack instead of a separate OS.

1.) I could edit it. Though so many people think that 7 and Blackcomb are related someone would change it back. So I'm not even going to bother.
2.) Sarcastic. And with that logic he must have missed XP's release or 98SE's release.

Well, they are related in the sense that it used to refer to a future version of Windows that originally was the undeveloped 7. They explain this quite nicely if you take the time to read it.

I knew you were, but your sarcasm seemed to completely miss his complaint.

His complaint is invalid.
Plus being a paid model that would be a stupid end on Microsoft's end. Because all the Vista bashers would just call it more of the same slow buggy crap.
