None of the methods Microsoft gave to fix the windows store and mail app works. God damn this is frustrating.
I think I broke everything. Deleting the stuff in the download folder and doing the wuauclt.exe /updatenow in an admin cmd doesn't work any more. Deleting the BT folder did nothing as well. Powershell method fails. System Restore fails on me, and the windows update window displays the normal "up to date" stuff, and not the Win 10 reserved. :(
Can I safely delete windows.old ?
Can I safely delete windows.old ?
If you aren't getting problems
Can I safely delete windows.old ?
Yeah, but you won't be able to roll back after you do is all.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/zEIUyaL.jpg[/t] I'm having so much fun; I can't change the resolution because apparently no program is installed to handle changing display settings, GeForce experience refuses to open, and the newest driver is still fucking up.
Can I skip Windows 7 updates completely and just use this? http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
Thank fuck I got the drivers to work. If it's not working for you, try this: Go to settings. Type in the search 'Device Manager' and open the device manager. Click Display adapters' drop down arrow, then click your GPU driver (if it's there), right click Uninstall. Then reboot your system. That's how I got it, apparently the auto-driver remover didn't nuke the thing fully.
I fucking love you, it actually worked.
Reporting in from 10 on my main desktop. Finally got 10 to take on one of my brothers computers as well and it's installing now. I can't get the 10 update to download on the two 7 computers in my house though.
Okay, so my $Windows folder is all full with Windows 10, but nothing is happening. What do I do now?
Can I skip Windows 7 updates completely and just use this? http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
You need Windows 7 SP1 and https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3035583
My update keeps failing
So i downloaded some tool from MS website and it's downloading windows 10, but it's dreadfully slow. Why am i even downloading it now? I thought you could pre download or something? I signed up for it months ago and it was supposed to download it yesterday, so what is this Windows BT folder that's 5.81gb if it isn't the OS? I also now have a windows WS 2.5gb folder... I'm confused...
Never mind, upgrading now!
You need Windows 7 SP1 and https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3035583
so in the end I DO need to go through a couple thousand updates
So can i please get some help getting back to windows 8.1 that is installed on another partition???! hello? help???
So you can only have one image as wallpaper now, even if you have several monitors? I liked having a different one for each monitor
God, CPU usage is so much improved with the release version.
if I can't upgrade to 8.1, I downgrade to 7 to then go up to 10, yes?
So Windows 10 is done being downloaded and it failed to upgrade and my Windows BT folder went to like 1 mb's or something. What do I do to upgrade now guys?
Nope, I was wrong, when I restart Windows fails to recognise the new driver and moves my graphics card from a display adapter to an unknown device, and the same dll errors come up again. Im gonna just reset my entire PC, this is really starting to piss me off.
I wrote the wuauclt.exe /updatenow command on CMD again and it started downloading something 5 GBs. What's happening? I downloaded something 2 GBs yesterday.
Has anyone in the UK got the notification yet?
[t]http://i.imgur.com/sgAor33.png[/t] Fuck this, Command Prompt didn't work, and it has failed to upgrade many times. I'm thinking of using this installer here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 Do I still get the option to keep my files because I don't want to do a clean install.
Still stuck on build 10166. Screw you Microsoft and you're finnickyness
Has anyone in the UK got the notification yet?
Nope not yet

I'm still holding out hope eventually it will work, but I might just give in and try to see if it will work tomorrow. And yes, you do get an option to keep all your files.
The get windows 10 troubleshooter says my windows 7 version is out of date, yet I have service pack 1 installed and every single update in the windows update program installed with no new updates available.
Speaking of, pressing Windows 10 icon loads up a window saying "Please wait..." then disappears with nothing starting back up. Icon remains in tray.
What do I do to fix this so I can reserve a copy?
