the windows 10 button on my windows 7 installation has dissapeared since an update last evening :v:
Does the upgrade kill Firefox extensions? Never had then on my laptop during insider preview so
I found a solution online for the Nvidia driver problem.
- Search Device Manager on your computer
- Go to display adapters
- Right click on whatever it is (For me it was a GTX 980 and there should be a warning sign on it)
- Update driver software
- Hit search automatically for for updated driver software
- Restart and it should be working perfectly w/ Directx12 if you have the card for it.
Bonus:
After I got all the shit sorted out, everything has been really fluid and smooth for me. Windows 10 could use a little optimization and tweaks in a few areas but, I like Windows 10 far more than Windows 8 imo. Also, Google Chrome is apparently faster than Microsoft Edge.
i love it
Im shocked as to how my installation went off without a hitch. My laptop always gave me problems
Mail and agenda app keep crashing, also they haven't updated the group policies at all, how could they forgot to change that.
How do I install Nvidia drivers? I downloaded them from their site but i just get a install failed every time.
I'm on Waterfox (64-bit Firefox fork, uses the same extensions) but so far no, I've been pulling all my old extensions and addons just fine.
Yeah using Waterfox too, neat.
I finished my install a couple of hours ago, I'm pretty surprised with how just about everything continued to work. That's a plus.
What isn't a plus is all of this smartphone app bullshit trying to get me to use my Microsoft account and how you have to go in to command prompt to uninstall it. The Email app is especially a complete nightmare, I couldn't get it to work properly for the life of me. Every time I restart my computer, it also tries to get me to use OneDrive, except the initial setup of OneDrive doesn't seem to work and I can't actually seem to uninstall it. It doesn't appear in the programs list or the apps list and I can't find it in the apps list in the command prompt (sorry, ~POWERSHELL~)
Once you get past that initial clusterfuck of uninstalling all of the dumb shit though, it seems to be a pretty solid and speedy OS. Not bad at all.
Stuck on "Preparing for installation". Alright, I'll stop the download. Oh, the button did nothing but grey itself out when I clicked it. Maybe I should restart. Oh, my computer won't restart because it's installing an update and now I have to hard restart.
Fuck this update already.

this is the error I get whenever I try to use OneDrive
this is just silly, guys

I seem to be having a problem with Skype. for some reason it snaps before it reaches the edge.
Can I do a clean install from the upgrade installer (including deleting any drivers) or do I have to upgrade then do a clean install?
Windows 8.1 machine downstairs receiving the upgrade now. Took about an hour after requesting it.
Downgraded to 8.1 temporarily until they fix the mail/agenda app and hopefully make them more.. intuitive, it informed me of mail, but didn't show which account had one, so I had to search through all 4 through that annoying accounts button, useless.
Went surprisingly fast. :v:
Did anyone else find their computer was slow as hell after upgrading? It takes several minutes for me to log on on my laptop, and the interface is really unresponsive. Maybe I need to do a clean install.
edit - It took five hours to upgrade as well.
Started the upgrade process. Is it normal to be stuck at 91% overall and 66% configuring settings.

On my PC all is gud.
Any personal experience of using W10 with Clover?
I went into Windows Update and clicked "check for updates", and that kicked it into gear
try that
This seems to have worked for me, thank you!
Windows 10 has been nothing but problems for me so far.
Somewhere along the line something (probably drivers) fucked up and now my display looks god awful.
And also, explorer.exe just repetitively crashes, but when it stops I can't use the search, start menu or even click on some icons.
Brilliant.
[editline]29th July 2015[/editline]
Oh and the date is American now
Besides the skype problem.. I haven't had any problems at all.
Both my desktop and laptop got upgraded, all seems to be working well here on both ends.
Any personal experience of using W10 with Clover?
My experience with it so far isn't great to be honest, it's randomly freezing and crashing alot. I'd suggest waiting for an update before trying to use it properly on 10.
okay i guess it'll just take some time to get used to it but at the moment i fucking hate it.
What is the cheapest way I would go about getting a key for Windows 10? On Microsoft's online store they want $180AUD for Windows 10 Home, which sounds like a lot, especially when I may be buying multiple licenses. I found /r/microsoftsoftwareswap/ which looks like a possible option but the much lower price and unknown origin of the keys makes me sceptical.
Also if I was to buy a Windows 8.1 key would I need to install 8.1 then go through the upgrade process or could I just install Windows 10 fresh and enter the 8.1 key during the installation?
i fucking freaked out when i found out that my windows 10 is 32bit
i need a emergency ISO of windows 10 RTM
This seems to have worked for me, thank you!
Actually, now it just seems to be stuck on 'Getting Setup Files'.[DEL] I think deleting those files earlier was a mistake :([/DEL]
EDIT: Wups, it's properly downloading now.
Seems to have sped up now. Must've still been doing stuff in the background. Liking it so far.
Should I install the graphics drivers from Nvidia or wait for it to pop up on windows update? It keeps checking for updates like forever.
OK NOW I CANT SEE ANYTHING AT ALL.
