Took me 2 hours on my pc and only a few minutes on my tablet, I think it scans all your drives for compatibility issues
When I did a clean install it only took 10/20 minutes, I installed Windows 10 directly through the boot menu though.

Could i do this and keep the reserved copy i have? I tried it and it asked me for a product key. I didn't have one and backed out.
So whats with Runtime Broker constantly taking up 20% of CPU. Is it useful or can I remove it?
Still no update yet, have tried every method to force it. Any other ideas?
I dont understand. I have a custom built PC, what is the updater waiting on? [t]http://i.imgur.com/5q2q4W2.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/aGqGjcw.png[/t]
If I upgraded, is it safe for me to restore Windows 10 to factory settings through the recovery tool? I didn't get an option to do a clean install and instead just got put down the upgrade path, when I've been looking to have a clean slate for a while now.

Did you JUST reserve it?
Still no update yet, have tried every method to force it. Any other ideas?
Did you download the whatever-the-fuck-the-name-is.exe off of microsoft.com? That pretty much solved it for me.
I ended up going to their website to get it.
is it safe for me to just click on the setup.exe in the windows BT folder and start the update? [t]http://i.imgur.com/6wckz64.png[/t]
Yea, just go to http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10, put it into a thumbdrive and you're good to go
I ended up going to their website to get it.
Be careful doing this I did it and now it appears my windows 10 isn't activated even though I had a legit windows 8 key and typing the key in after it install just keeps giving me an error. Trying to contact support now...
If my windows 8.1 is in legacy mode and I want to install 10 with UEFI do I need to do a clean install from uefi installation media? Also can I just use my 8.1 serial key for 10?
I saw that I needed a certain update (KB295664) to upgrade, so I did it through Windows Update and now my "Get Windows 10" icon is gone from the system tray and clicking "learn more" in Windows Update won't bring up the GWX program. Windows Update itself says my upgrade is reserved and it's not downloading anything.
Whenever I try to use the Windows 10 setup thing from microsoft.com when I select to upgrade it it just shows "Something happened" and shows a button to close it. Does anyone know how to fix this?
is it safe for me to just click on the setup.exe in the windows BT folder and start the update? [t]http://i.imgur.com/6wckz64.png[/t]
From the reddit thread, apparently that fucks up the BT folder and deletes tons of files.
guys help i upgraded to 10 on my PC and there are huge black bars around the edges of my monitor (its 1080p), how do i fix this? is it a driver issue?
From the reddit thread, apparently that fucks up the BT folder and deletes tons of files.
Good job Microsoft :v:
I downloaded the latest Nvidia driver off of their website and apparently my GTX970 is incompatible with the system, and so is the driver. Which would be fine since Windows installed the driver, but it's missing the Nvidia Control Panel, which is kinda important

[editline]29th July 2015[/editline]
Even with video quality and resolution set to high, it still looks pretty bad. It's also locked at 29-ish FPS and the overlay doesn't seem to work with some games, but that's to be expected.
It's not meant to be professional capturing software. For what it is, it does a great job.
I'm using it now. Upgrade went alright, now using it and it's damn snappy and cool. I like it. Upgraded from Windows 7.

Ah, finally the wuauclt fix worked. Redownloading now
Is there any way to make windows apps auto maximize? Tired of having to continuously click it if I want to watch Netflix.
Still getting the message that I failed to install, a new one appears every time I reboot. Will I be able to install if I just wait?
Anyone else having a weird issue with login and DWM.exe? I made a post on the Windows subreddit to see if anyone else knows, just checking if anyone here has experienced it: https://www.reddit.com/r/windows/comments/3f1dmp/weird_issue_with_win10/
I have it! running smooth. thank you microsoft!
It's been stuck here for quite some time now.. [t]http://puu.sh/jhAWo/7ccf58b3ed.png[/t]
Restart, it should fix it.
Nope [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/13796438/Untitled.png[/t]
Nope [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/13796438/Untitled.png[/t]
I'm in the same boat as you. Is explorer repeatedly crashing for you too? Regardless I'm sure they're going to send out a driver for these cards in a few days, right? If not I guess calling tech support wouldn't be a terrible idea... [editline]29th July 2015[/editline] And if none of that works, is it possible to revert to 7?
