Is there any way to add the search option into the Start menu? Like next to the other important Start menu folders in the bottom left corner (Power, All Apps, etc.) I just don't like it as another button right next to the Start button.
Fuck, I forced update through cmd and it installed Windows 10 in Norwegain and kept all my files. Any way I can quickly wipe and reinstall in English
I'm in the same boat as you. Is explorer repeatedly crashing for you too? Regardless I'm sure they're going to send out a driver for these cards in a few days, right? If not I guess calling tech support wouldn't be a terrible idea... [editline]29th July 2015[/editline] And if none of that works, is it possible to revert to 7?
Nah, everything works and is stable, I'm just missing the Nvidia Control Panel which normally gets installed with the driver, so that's what I'm trying to do
what exactly is your problem here?
Whoops, my brain isn't working. Edited
You can't.
if you still have a windows 7/8 code I suppose you could format back to that and then upgrade through windows update
Hey, I am running windows 7 that has not been updated since 2011 and it will not allow me to update now. Getting error "8007007e". Is there any way to bypass a system update to grab Win10 or would it be easier to format, reinstall Win7, update, then claim?

or just use window key + s to get straight to it which thankfully still works
Is it normal to not have received the email that they're suppose to send? Also my Windows 10 taskbar icon thing went away, but it still says I've reserved my copy.
I used the media creation tool to upgrade, Windows 10 doesn't activate. Hopefully it's just a temporary server issue, or otherwise a bunch of people have just fucked up :v:
thanks konkey and scratch. I guess my other question would be how to make the window bars have color, as opposed to just being white like this. [t]http://i.imgur.com/HK2mv5e.png[/t]
Alright guys, someone's gotta help me or I'm gonna stab myself with a fork. I've done all the solutions that I'm aware of. I've done Force Update in CMD Prompt, I've used the Media Creator tool, I've used Windows Update normally, I've downloaded all other updates, but I just can't download this bloody thing. Windows Update just keeps failing and the tool keeps crashing. I REALLY need someone to help me. I NEED this upgrade and it's the only thing so far that can possibly have a chance at fixing my PC. Please, anything. Anything at all.
I'm just gonna wait it out. Trying to force out the update just isn't working for me.
do you guys think i should get windows 10? i have an Nvidia GTX 780 and i'm not sure if i should install windows 10 or not at the moment.
Nope [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/13796438/Untitled.png[/t]
Friend lurker of mine told me that deleting the drivers on the device manager should make them reinstall by themselves, if that's any help.
Nope [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/13796438/Untitled.png[/t]
Update, I fixed this by installing an older driver and letting Geforce Experience update to this one, the control panel and everything is where it should be now
It started the download, even said "Starting windows 10 download" Did all the force windows 10 download things, deleted all the stuff inside folders etc, still not working Error code 80004005 [editline]a[/editline] And now it's downloading again.
Is anybody else having it say "Connect to the internet to activate Windows"? It's not pestering me but it is showing up as such under the activation page.
It's been stuck here for quite some time now.. [t]http://puu.sh/jhAWo/7ccf58b3ed.png[/t]
I restarted the download and it's stuck at thee same place again

I think it went with something like "quick access" or "most commonly used apps".

So Cortana doesn't even work in Canada what the fuck We speak English just like you, and the application is just a glorified google searching AI / Reminder app...
if I can get my copy to work I'll post it for you.
for people with nvidia cards, once you get windows 10 set up, run windows update. it updated my cards drivers for me there. and i just restarted a couple times and everything was fine for me. now if it doesnt work i dont know, im just saying what worked for my 970.
Every update method I've tried, has fucked up. I have the media creation tool downloading the ISO right now, I'll go buy a USB stick tomorrow and throw it on that. Couldn't find any of my sticks for some reason.
