Would just like to advise anyone who has a Windows.old folder prior to Win10 upgrade to rename that folder to something else, otherwise it will be deleted and replaced by a new Windows.old folder containing your backup for your previous version.
I had ~120GB free on my C: drive before win10 upgrade, and thanks to my ignorance of the Windows.old folder containing some steam games, now have 270GB free.
So yeah, rename that shit before you upgrade.
Guess I'm going to postpone my desktop's upgrade
what does this mean? and how do i fix it?

I am a brave (and dumb) man.

sorry, i meant to say. it says for insider preview, and i'm looking for the full package, is this correct? i'm not getting the cool purple popup that you all are getting
I don't know if anyone had this problem here but whenever I tell Cortana to launch any game from my Steam library she will just instead use Bing to search for stuff like "Launch Payday 2", but will detect something like Minecraft normally. Anyone has any idea what I can do?

Anyone else done the same with Steam tile?
Is there anyway to hide both taskbars? At the moment, the primary one does. the secondary one doesn't
Anyone else not able to force the Win10 update through control panel?
It has been a hour and the install JUST hit 14 percent. I should have left this over night.
That is sheer laziness, Windows 10 has near enough a whole new set of icons and yet they couldn't be fucking bothered to change two more.
look at all that new icons

This doesn't do anything. After a while it just goes back to getting the same error.
What version of W10 is being released? 10240?
My PC is entirely fucked after upgrading. Half the shit ain't working, task manager doesn't work. Getting errors for using built in features. Comes up with shit like 'cannot find ms:display' or some crap like that.
ARGH

Which one do I choose? People are saying not choose the first option.

This is totally self explanatory on what you should do.
Why don't I get a mail or notification to install Windows 10? I have reserved it.

To be perfectly fair, changing all that window stuff isn't as simple as it seems, due to the spaghetti backwards compatible code they have written.
The icons though? Meh, they are not that important, they probably had better things to do first to be perfectly honest. I'm sure they wouldn't mind to make all the windows more consistent, I have no idea how clusterfucky the source is though, but I'm sure it's a mess.
I need some assistence please. So basicly I had a not-legit version of Win7 and Ive got my hands on Win8. I got it to update to Win8 but now I need an upgrade from 8.0 to 8
1. But now theres a problem. It says Could Not configurate the new updates. Rolling back, and it just goes on a loop . Any ideas on how to fix it. I am not the one doing the update so no pictures, basicly i have to ride like 100km in order to see it myself. Would be great if i could skip that. On a phone right now.
Anyone remember my problem with explorer.exe constantly crashing?
It was because of iCloud.
:v:
Jesus christ Cortana pretty much wants to monitor absolutely damn EVERYTHING I do and send it back to Microsoft to function.
Not sure if I like that.
A friend of mine is stuck on 10130. How important is it that he makes an account on Windows Insider and links the account to windows 10?
None of the methods work any more. I don't know what happened, but something big must have fucked up and I can't even use System Restore because it results in a "Incorrect Function" error. I think I might have to format :(

I always check if those 3 midi songs are still in C:\Windows\Media, it seems that they still are. onestop.mid is a sweet song.

it is getting worse with every release. im sure they could find workarounds if they tried but im sure they dont care at all.
So I began a factory reset before I left the house at 2:00.
It is now 5:36 and it's still resetting. What do I do?
