Am I the only one who didnt have a single problem with Win10 upgrade on my main rig? Everything went smooth as butter and my key is not generic. The only issue I had was my mouse not appearing, which was my own fault.
Nah. The only problem I have is broken control panel for VIA HD audio and no stereo mix in audio devices. Everyting else is just an a annoyance by some dumb changes which made it past insider program.
Jesus christ Cortana pretty much wants to monitor absolutely damn EVERYTHING I do and send it back to Microsoft to function.
Not sure if I like that.
Don't be afraid. Its most likely trying to aid microsoft in figuring out how cortana could work with commonly used apps.
Right now it does shit all
how do I uninstall the driver nowadays, attempting to hit uninstall the below bugger in control panel just isn't responsive.

Not including price, is there any advantage to buying a windows 10 key over 7/8.1 and upgrading?

How can I get rid of/fill the blank space on the left?
q: anyone here has Windows 10 and PCI (not express) X-fi Xtreme Gamer (Fatality) ?
if yes, any issues with drivers ?
I know this is probably asked a bunch but I have Windows 7 home edition SP1 and I never got a "Get Windows 10" App on my taskbar. Im up to date with updates and and running a legit copy of windows 7.

Settings -> Personalization -> Start
"Most Used" and "Recently Added" fill the void

Alright. I am noticing one issue with Windows 10.
In my power management settings, I have it set to turn off my monitor after 15 minutes, and my computer after 30 minutes.
None of those are happening.
Chrome is super choppy when I scroll up or down, anyway to fix this?
I think you're looking for this. FYI there's alternatives to this so feel free to google'em.

Both settings are on but didn't change anything.
Just looked at the key my install has and it is the generic pro key even after doing the windows update upgrade :v:.
The only real gripe I have about 10 is that the taskbar previews for programs with multiple windows are all different sizes that change based on the size of the window being previewed instead of them all being the same.
Both settings are on but didn't change anything.
You can actually drag the start menu window to make it larger/smaller.

Anyone else have this ugly windows store icon?

That's normal, all upgraded machines use the key.
Also I really like the Taskbar preview size thing, it was kind of weird at first but I really like it now.
I don't have a clock on my taskbar
It's giving me a heart attack tbh. Does anyone have a fix?!?
Sounds like your monitor isn't set to being the main one under display options.

Yeah, but I still can't put any icons into the left column.

Your not meant to be able to.
Yeah, but I still can't put any icons into the left column.
The pinned applications (top left of start menu in 7) and quick links (right of 7 start menu) have switched places. You can't pin on the left anymore, it's moved to the other side where the new quick links on the left used to be.
I give up.

So I'm supposed to have a huge empty space in my start menu?

But I could control what went on either side of the start menu in 7, did they really remove that feature?

No. You can set it to put "Most used" programs there.
I don't care if you claim that it's on. It clearly isn't.
[editline]30th July 2015[/editline]
No. They switched sides. You couldn't control exactly what was on the right side of the menu in Windows 7 either.
[editline]30th July 2015[/editline]
Type start settings into search. First result. Either "Show most used apps or "Show recently added apps"
Still not getting the update, the media creation tool says "something happened", using disk cleanup didn't fix anything, fully updated, I got the tray icon but in the updates window it doesn't say my copy of 10 is reserved, it just says no updates, i'm really not sure what to think anymore.

All right, posting from my squeaky clean Win 10 install. No activation issues, no driver issues, no nothing. Bravo, Microsoft!
One question - how do I change the keyboard properties? I can't find the repeat rate setting :v:
[editline]29th July 2015[/editline]
Nvm, found it. Gotta figure this thing out... :P
~PLEASE BE A HERO AND FIX MY PC~
Explorer.exe is still crashing and restarting endlessly.
I tried deleting the drivers for my Nvidia GT 540m, but it just reinstalled what I already had. This particular driver is from 7/13/15 and it's version 10.18.13.5354. My GPU is literally incompatible with the new version released today
Please help my computer is virtually unusable, disk acces and CPU are both at 100% capacity
I have two monitors btw, unplugged second one and the problem persisted
