Since I own both laptop and PC and would like to make an upgrade on them and end the vicious cycle of pirating Windows in my house.
No need to buy it. Just use http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 and run the upgrade though that. And if your Using Windows 7 Pro, You'll get Windows 10 Pro ect...

randomly got weird constant system wide stuttering (it even affected the cursor) with tearing that persisted after both restarting the graphics driver and logging out and back in. wtf?
I'm so confused by nvidias website is Directx 12 with a 970/980 Hardware support or software support.
My windows Store doesn't open, I tried to execute wsreset.exe but it just gives me this error: any help?

I'm currently running W7 home premium, and found I have a full install CD of W8 Pro lying about. If I were to install 8 now, would I have to re-reserve W10 and thus wait longer (iirc someone said to get a valid W10 key one had to do the upgrade through windows update?), and if not would the reservation be for the home edition and not pro?
anyone know how to fix DPC Watchdog errors? I've been getting them randomly lately.
Just upgraded my work PC to Windows 10 Pro (need to test it for a while before rolling it out to the rest of the office). Liking it so far. A nice little feature I noticed was that you can scroll through menus between programs without having to actually click into them like you had to do in Windows 7. So with two monitors I can scroll through a webpage, then scroll through my Skype contacts and then scroll through my Outlook inbox without having to click into each program. It's pretty neat.
you could probably reserve then immediately force the update
Talking to a Microsoft Engineer right now to fix my multiples issues. Hope this will get to an end and I will be able to use Windows 10 as everyone else.
god dammit fuck off. I don't know if that'll fix your case though.
Asking again since I didn't get an answer last time I asked, or at least I couldn't find one. Where is the cheapest place I can get a copy of Windows 10? Microsoft's online store has Windows 10 Home for $180 which seems like a lot since I'll be getting multiple copies. They also have Windows 8.1 for $150 which if I understand correctly I can then upgrade to Windows 10, although I am uncertain of whether if I do it this way I will need to install 8.1 then upgrade or if I can start fresh with Windows 10 using the 8.1 key.
I had once a problem in the preview version that I couldn't search any apps in the Start search but it got fixed in a newer build for me. Now it's back. I start a search and type, for example, "Spotify" in the field and nothing comes up other than the "Search my stuff" thing, which doesn't come up with any results.

I'd say via Microsoft Store. Is that the local price? You may get it a bit cheaper in the US
Does Cortana work for anyone in the UK yet? I've installed the UK speech pack and restarted but she's still not available.
How can i downgrade to windows 7 using command prompt? This is the worst shit ever. My laptop is pretty much bricked. NOTHING windows related works. Not even the settings menu opens so i can't do the recovery using the ui.
I managed to get 10 on my laptop but I'm worried about my desktop - running Win 8.1 pro, but it keeps on failing to download a windows update from almost a year ago and therefore won't show the "windows 10" tray thing ( another kettle of fish though). If I download the windows 10 tool, can I update straight from windows 8.1 pro with a valid windows 10 pro license bypassing the reserve feature entirely? And before anyone asks, it is a genuine version of windows
Hey, my bugs are no more. The microsoft assistant helped me finding where it came from : it just came from my session being corrupted or something. Making a new one solved everything. If anyone has troubles as I had, try that.
Strange, I used the Media Creation tool and I'm Activated (Not including Product ID for obvious reasons)
Yeah it's activated now, I guess the activation servers just were under very heavy load at the time.

FINALLY FUCKING DID IT Here's a list of everything I did: 1. Upgraded using the Media Creation Tool 2. Greeted after login with a black screen with cursor 3. Rolled back to Windows 8.1 using SHIFT+Restart 4. Uninstalled UXTheme patching service 5. Upgraded using the Media Creation Tool 6. Greeted after login with a black screen with curso 7. Attempted to use "Refresh my files" of Windows removing all programs but keeping files and settings (in the menu upon SHIFT+Restart) 8. Refreshing failed about a third of the way in, unable to roll back to Windows 8.1 9. Whip up a thumb drive for Windows 10, clean install with keeping files/settings 10. Boot up, set up shit 11. Use ProduKey to grab key from broken Win 10 Pro installation 12. Activated, new not-broken installation of Windows. Today sucked, man. Now I have to reinstall all of my programs.

Nobody figured out how to make w10 apps behave like w8 apps?
I have heard rumours that there is anti piracy software in addition to a lot of tracking software in Windows 10 amidst the cesspool of /v/ it's hard to get a clear answer. I have windows 8.1 at the moment, it's not fantastic but once I adjusted to using it I haven't really had any problems. Is it actually worth swapping over? That said I've read a lot that even more so with windows 10, big brother is watching. how true is this? Should I just stick with 8.1? Or better yet should I downgrade to 7?
Does anyone know where I can get the Windows 10 ISOs? Is it better to use Pro over Home?
My windows 10 upgrade went smoothly, really liking what they did with the windows tiles in the start menu. [vid]http://puu.sh/jiGtS/0488999d22.mp4[/vid]
Go fuck yourself Microsoft and nvidia. Managed to rollback to w7.
What steps have you tried so far??
Disabling the discrete nvidia card from bios. Uninstalling Intel and nvidia drivers and clean installing a few different versions. Doing windows 10 integrity checks. I couldn't do anything else because NOTHING windows related worked, I couldn't even open the control panel for example. [editline]30th July 2015[/editline] If you've got a laptop with nvidia optimus, don't get windows 10. Shit's broken beyond repair.
I upgraded and things seem to be going swimmingly. There's quite a bit of stuff I don't think I need though.
