I have 3 monitors driven by 2 GTX 670s in surround mode and windows 8.1 used to treat each one individually when it comes to window maximizing. Now if I try to maximize in windows 10, it stretches the entire window across. Is there anyway to bring the old behavior back?

Has anyone by any chance tried playing a game with sweetfx on windows 10? Wargame Red Dragon with sweetfx just crashes whenever I try it which is a shame because sweetfx really helps bring colours out [editline]a[/editline] Apparently it was the version I was using.
It's useful if you have more than 1 computer in your household (all with W10) and one of them downloaded the update before the other ones; it'll be used as a 'seed' for a faster download across all other computers in your network. It's actually pretty useful, in that regard. Also, So how many things do we actually have to disable on this thing?
I don't see those "Content Suggestions." I'd like to think that's a case of 4chan being hyperbolic. Also, "Wifi Sense" isn't a thing, as far as I'm aware. Haven't seen that either. [editline]30th July 2015[/editline]
I mean, the initial slog of disabling all of that nonsense is a bit tedious but I've had 10 running since like 3 AM yesterday and once I disabled all of the nonsense I haven't been bothered by anything else. Once you remove things like the mail app and the zune music and movie apps by deleting them through Powershell and you disable all of the Live menu stuff through the (admittedly kinda convoluted) options menus, you're left with a really nice, speedy, clean OS. As for Cortana using cloud stuff and tracking your browsing habits to make recommendations to you, I honestly don't mind since there's not much Microsoft can do with the info that I like to look at anime titties and I like to buy video games off of Amazon. If you don't like Cortana you can just not use a MS account and switch it off. Turning off Cortana does mean you have to go through an extra step to use the search bar though, and Cortana itself is relatively benign. It's just a novelty like Siri, fun for old people and normal people but for people like us that understand advanced techniques like how to use Google she's pretty useless and non-intrusive.
I use Cortana to open apps since I don't want to slog through the menus. She's great for that. Then again, there's something fundamentally gratifying about yelling at my computer.

You can connect Facebook and Microsoft contacts - if they're near you/can see your wifi, you can set it to automatically allow them to connect to your wifi. Neat feature, honestly, but sorta useless since there's no way in hell I'm allowing Facebook that info and I don't have friends that could connect to my wifi anyways. [editline]30th July 2015[/editline] Also, sort of sad there's no OblyTile alternative for Windows 10 yet. I want to customize my tiles more and make them colorful and give them new minimalist PNGs, but there's no customization apps available for that yet. Sad.
The amount of stuff Microsoft has access to by default is pretty ridiculous. I went through every menu and disactivated all that crap but I doubt that'll stop em. They also shoved Microsoft accounts in everything. I set a password for my laptop, but without notice after I logged into the mail app it changed my laptop password to my Outlook password.

They can access everything you type in Edge, every email you write or send in Mail, all sorts of shit. Basically keylogging. I've excised as much as possible and I'm not using Edge or any of their other "Trusted Windows 10" apps, because the TOS on them is awfully far-reaching. Really bad privacy policy. Worth using alternative apps - at least I know Google isn't tracking my every keystroke in Chrome, even though they're just as bad in every other regard.

And they have complete access to your search history, browser history, saved passwords, and any other information stored in the browser. Personally, I've stopped caring. Privacy's been dead far longer than we like to realize.
I can't even open my Windows update page, it just hangs on a white screen forever. Previous to this problem happening i used "wuauclt.exe /updatenow" in CMD, but straight after, i was met with a 30-40 minute hang, and now the page for the update just straight up wont load Also, just to note, when i use the media creation tool offered by Microsoft, both methods (Install win10, or get the iso) leave me with the spinning circle of white dots and nothing else, for hours on end
Ok, I got 10 working. It was a long night, my power had went out during the install of 10 and it was FUBAR'd. I had to format my HDD, install a extremely virgin install of windows 7 and use the USB to install from there. Took me all night, but I got it! And I mean like ,super virgin install. No updates at all. I just used the USB and I had a validated Windows 10. Also
Finally got Windows 10 on my laptop :toot: But I have a problem with the wallpaper slide-show, I can select the folder but I can't select the images. Does anyone know why and how to fix it?
Quick question, why and what would one use the generic installation keys for?
Only just occurred to me, my motherboard has a rather odd RAID controller (Jmicron JMB362 specifically, drivers last updated by the manufacturer in 2012) and my C:\ drive is RAID 0. Were I to upgrade to Windows 10, what's the likelihood those drivers will still work?
Is the task bar way more prone to errors now or is it just me? It becomes slow as hell when it works (might take 3-4 seconds to open the start menu, or the right-click menus when available), and when it doesn't, it refuses to open Start and Search menus. Totally. The only way you can use them is rightclicking them. Very annoying.
I use ordinary Windows 8.1 (not Pro) right now, and I want Windows 10 Pro. Will I have to upgrade to Windows 8.1 Pro first in order to do that?
The more I use win 10 the more I see that it's not quite ready for release. No, it's working great but it's like some of the teams who worked on it had same idea in mind but different visions of it. Like you know, why do I need wireless display menu on the machine without wireless adapter, why there is so much customization features stripped yet we can still access them through some weird command line commands, why is there still win8-style sidebar when I connect to a new network, etc.
Quick question, why and what would one use the generic installation keys for?
I think we don't really need to use them since this keys is exactly the same keys which will be used by the system if you press skip button during installation.
why is there still win8-style sidebar when I connect to a new network, etc.
Well 10 is essentially an incremental upgrade from 8, in more ways than marketing. :v: It's actually kind of hilarious watching people take to 10 without hesitation, yet mention 8 and they hiss like feral cats.

It's just... Ok you make system color and transparency customizable and it affects taskbar, notification center etc but network connection sidebar still stays the same blue and non-transparent as it was in 8?

My W10 failed to install. It reverted back to Windows 7 but now it says my copy of W7 is non-genuine even though it is..
Is there a way to change Winkey+E back to what it was before? In windows 10 it opens Quick Access instead of "This PC" :frown:
Pinning things to start menu doesn't work on my desktop

Can someone explain what this is and why this is I did have Air Display installed forever ago on Windows 8, but I uninstalled it, and I did a "reset" after installing 10 which should technically wipe everything but the OS, so I'm very confused right now [editline]30th July 2015[/editline] I keep thinking all my windows are inactive because of the white title bar
I reserved and all that, but I'm still stuck with "OK, notify me when it's ready"...
I have to say, I installed windows 10 last night, and I love it. Obviously there are a few things that need to be ironed out. but it's a new OS and for it to function in the capacity that it does at the moment is pretty cool. It loads and shuts down a little slower than my windows 10 build but i attribute that to my upgrade and the fact that I still have a preloaded 7 on there, which i'll take care of in a few weeks when i get around to doing a clean install. One thing I noticed though is when I shut the computer down it plays the error sound... I found that weird. There is no start up sound either, not used to this. This is gonna be great after a SP hits the OS.
My windows 10 upgrade went smoothly, really liking what they did with the windows tiles in the start menu. [vid]http://puu.sh/jiGtS/0488999d22.mp4[/vid]
Can you play Xbox One games with Mouse and keyboard?
Ok, Windows 10 REALLY does not like my graphics driver. Guess I'll wait till October when they should have sorted this crap out
