Right now i'm doing all this shit to try and get Cortana to work on my laptop :v:
how do i claim my free upgrade through windows update if it isn't downloading or the force update isn't working? i got so far as preparing for install yesterday, but it needed a W7 update to be installed, which i later did but now i can't even get the W10 update to start at all now
Anyone having the problem with notification center icon showing that there are new notifications but there is nothing when you open it?
ok so i'm still trying to upgrade via windows update, and now preparing for installation is stuck for a hour, is this normal or it will move at some point and it fucking failed with the damn code C190011F, imma go and install via media creation tool
Is this normal? This is on the defragging program and I didn't see this back on 7.
How is the default W10 antivirus? Reckon I still need a 3rd party one?
This morning when I turned on my computer, the tray icon for "upgrade to Windows 10" had disappeared. Nothing indicating anything has been downloaded, as there's no C:\$~update folder (Or whatever it is called). And nothing under Windows Update. Meanwhile, on my work PC all files are fully downloaded and ready to be installed :hammered:
I wanted to like Edge but after some site redirected me to a fishy page, I'm going back to Firefox. I still believe Edge has potential but it needs to mature.
Anyone having the problem with notification center icon showing that there are new notifications but there is nothing when you open it?
Yes. It's probably just a bug with applications sending notifications even though you told them not to.
How is the default W10 antivirus? Reckon I still need a 3rd party one?
It's still MSE essentially, so yes.
I wanted to like Edge but after some site redirected me to a fishy page, I'm going back to Firefox. I still believe Edge has potential but it needs to mature.
Using Edge reminded me how unbearable the internet is without adblock and noscript
Using Edge reminded me how unbearable the internet is without adblock and noscript
Also no right-click refresh.
I have one PC at home that still doesn't have the upgrade available to Windows 10. Umm?
Still no update on that laptop... Anyone know how to force it? Release date is yesterday and this PC still doesn't have it. Also... My gaming rig, which I am on now.. Before upgrading to Win10...this never happened. Now, whenever I put it to sleep - I come back hours later and it woke itself up.
How is the default W10 antivirus? Reckon I still need a 3rd party one?
Exactly the same as 8. If don't think it's sufficient, you still need a 3rd party.
I'm amazed on how many people upgraded day 1 to a new OS and now are complaining that things are bugged. I don't think I've ever seen this many people upgrade day 1.
Any way to completely remove quick access from the explorer on the side tab.
I'm amazed on how many people upgraded day 1 to a new OS and now are complaining that things are bugged. I don't think I've ever seen this many people upgrade day 1.
It's never been a free upgrade before
It's never been a free upgrade before
True. I just don't understand why so many people are rushing it or complaining that they didn't get it day 1.
Upgraded and everything went beautifully. No driver issues or anything.
So Windows Insiders dont get Windows for free ?
True. I just don't understand why so many people are rushing it or complaining that they didn't get it day 1.
There are always so many bugs day one its usually best to wait a week for the storm to calm.
True. I just don't understand why so many people are rushing it or complaining that they didn't get it day 1.
Because it's past release date? Doesn't make a lot of sense when MS says "you'll get it on 7/29" and half of my computers don't have it still.
I have to install my retail version of Windows 7 Home Premium to get Windows 10 free Might take a while to get back to Windows 10
Is there a way to manually download the update that's supposed to make the Windows 10 icon appear on my taskbar? I don't want to download the W10 iso because I've heard there are problems with doing that.
There are always so many bugs day one its usually best to wait a week for the storm to calm.
Difference this time is the insider preview went on for way way longer before release.
Is there any way to resize tile groups? All of this wasted space is really bugging me
I've been testing this OS for two weeks now, it's stable enough for me to be my main OS on my desktop. I do have my backup laptop, though, so it's not a critical linchpin in my workflow. If my desktop breaks, I can still get work done. If you're not in a situation like that, you might want to hold off.
I hate that I can't pin some exe files to the start menu. I've read other people that noticed this. Hopefully there will be a fix/workaround soon...
Is there any way to resize tile groups? All of this wasted space is really bugging me
My question is howd you get those nice icons.
First news on what's coming next for Windows 10, over at The Verge To give you the cliff's notes: - "Service Release 1" coming next month, possibly next week. No new features, just bug fixes. - Larger update coming October, featuring Messaging app and Edge extensions. Testers will get their hands on this stuff soon. - Messaging app: Skype integration for Windows 10, ala iMessage/Facetime on OSX. Phone and video calls and Skype chat without needing Skype installed. - Edge extensions: Aiming to support all the same APIs as Chrome to make porting from Chrome require minimal/no extra work. Extensions are hosted on Windows Store and can be sideloaded by developers.
