My desktop updated perfectly and works perfectly, the email app's notifications work instantly. My mom's laptop was doing that flashing crap and I couldn't be assed to muck around in command prompt (the OS itself was completely unusable), so I put her stuff on a USB drive and did a full refresh and it is working 99% properly, but the email app's notifications dont work, the tile does not show emails, and takes like 2 minutes to 'sync'. The new improved window snapping makes multitasking faster for me, when I have photoshop, 3dsmax, chrome, pictures etc open, and the start menu is even better than 8 which I found slightly better than 7 other than being a cluttered if left unorganized. I like how you can click a letter to find programs faster and that it's sorted alphabetically. I'm not sure if I notice any performance improvements. Really like the appearance though. Overall, other than the flashing glitch on the laptop, I'd say I really like 10 so far. Sam [IMG]http://www.facepunch.com/fp/ratings/heart.png[/IMG]
I have 3 monitors driven by 2 GTX 670s in surround mode and windows 8.1 used to treat each one individually when it comes to window maximizing. Now if I try to maximize in windows 10, it stretches the entire window across. Is there anyway to bring the old behavior back?
So no way to fix this? It is getting annoying, and I googled already but couldn't find anyone else with the same problem
Try disabling automatic color setting in personalization menu.
Wow for fucks sake I can't get this thing to stop crashing. Every three minutes it randomly shuts down. Why did I install a new OS at launch it's always a bad idea.
Going off the info of sound cards causing issues I disabled my audio drivers and it's currently setting a record for longest time without a crash. I'm going to assume correlation = causation here then cry when it crashes anyway.
Try disabling automatic color setting in personalization menu.
Doesn't work, they are still bugged, also when searching for those apps in the search, they appear like this The weird thing it is that in the task manager, the icons appear fine, they appear even with the colored backgrounds with automatic color switching I found the place which has all the icons for those apps, but there are like 20 icons and I'm not sure which I have to edit
The people who have no problems really have no need to vocalize themselves on the internet as strongly as those who do.
Yeah, same with reading reviews on stuff like hardware. I get paranoid when buying new hardware when I read reviews.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/3sUtrcl.png[/t] Anyone know the correct format? I've literally tried everything to get this read only attribute off the folder but nothing's working.
There's a space in the filepath, put it in quotes.
The people who have no problems really have no need to vocalize themselves on the internet as strongly as those who do.
augh, windows 10 sucks I've not had a SINGLE ISSUE and it's only been a day good job microSHIT
Cannot pin any items to Start, actually every modification I do change only after next reboot. Anyone with same issue or ideas? something like this v [thumb]http://www.tenforums.com/attachments/general-discussion/17883d1430229543-cannot-pin-any-items-start-2015-04-28_15h55_43.png[/thumb]
I talked to a microsoft employee and apparently as long as windows activates the first time, it;ll always activate for your computer. my friend, who pirated windows 7-8 even got a activation key, and is activated at the moment.
Hmm, in tests on my PC so far, Edge uses about 25% less RAM than Chrome is with the exact same tabs. Going to stick with Edge for now. Shame the only adblock solution for it is hacky and slows down page loading though.
Just installed the 353.62 drivers and the Geforce Experience, and it's greeting me with this: Yet the recommended specs clearly show my card is supported (and it worked before upgrading to w10) [T]http://i.imgur.com/hLH4RE1.png[/T] It's not really an issue, I never really used it in the first place, but is anyone else having the same thing happen?

How do you get a key for 10?
My crashing problems haven't happened in about an hour so I'm gonna claim this shit is stable now. Here's the part where I try to make things look snazzy. Just gotta do some new steam grid images because I forgot to back mine up. [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/jlxrG9.png[/t]
Expecting a flawless day one launch is your own mistake
I think people are more expecting the update to not bork their entire system, which it's doing to a LOT of people. Personally, I had to do a clean install because the update was using 100% of my disk drive, making everything respond after ~30 seconds of waiting. Luckily, I had already made my install disk before updating.
Where did he get a key? How do you get a key for 10?
You don't get a key. It is pre-activated and it installs with a generic account. You upgrade via your Microsoft account, its tied via there.

So when I try to do any kind of surround sound (7.1 or 5.1), the only channels that work are L and R. It makes sound from any other location muted in games and it's driving me crazy. It worked before I upgraded. Any ideas?
Take ownership of your folder, the permissions have been probably messed up and you can't write with your current user
Err.... And how would one do that?
Is there a reason why Cortana wants to make my whole local account into my Microsoft account? I would prefer signing into it separately without changing my local account.

How the FUCK do I stop the Store from coming up first when I type in "downloads"
True. I just don't understand why so many people are rushing it or complaining that they didn't get it day 1.
My reasoning is I can always go back. I wanted to install the OS to my SSD for a while, so I did, and Windows 10 gave me the excuse to just format and do it. It's glorious. And for me there's no down side. If it doesn't work I can just go back. I lose nothing I would never in a million years fork out $150 for a new OS on Day 1 though. Ever

well fuck, I have this laptop from a few years ago, and I installed ubuntu on it, accidentally deleting the recovery partition. So I have no way to get windows 7 back on, and no way to "upgrade" to 10.
Key embedded in BIOS? I was unaware of this being a thing.
A lot of oem machines do it and have been doing it for years.
