Oh is that one of those newfangled UEFI thingies?
I don't have that :(
No, this has been an option with prebuilt machines since Vista.
If you need to see the key, you can read it directly using RWEverything
http://rweverything.com/
Click ACPI then the MCFG tab
Also, if you get the key this way, you can get a Retail 7 ISO, skip entering a key on installation (it won't work), then activate with your key from Control Panel > System.

I have the key (it's printed under the laptop), I just need the ISO.
A lot of oem machines do it and have been doing it for years.
I'm pretty sure that wasn't a thing with Win 7, only with Win 8.
So I don't have my student access to free downloads to Office and Adobe products since I finished school, or even access they security keys. How am I going to get these programs to work, I was already considering a free lance web design gig for my friend but doing that in notepad sounds like hell...? I don't wanna pay for CS6 Photoshop/Dreamweaver, Microsoft Office/Access over again.

ok?
i don't think we can give you an answer to that question
And now the Windows Store isn't letting me install anything.
I try to install the Windows 10 version of Minecraft, I get error 0x80070002.
I try to install other apps, it downloads them, acts like it's installing them, but never does and prompts me to download again.
I've tried resetting the store cache and running a myriad of commands in both CMD and Powershell. Nothing. Waiting for one more to finish before I contemplate on refreshing out of frustration.
Anyone have the same issues, or does anyone have any advice?

Buy a CC subscription and Office 365 subscription.

Yes, I miss this time
So what are some good apps to install? I tried just a few so far, the Netflix app works great and it's super convenient.
I had the Twitter one running, but I'm not really sold on that one - I'd prefer a Tweetdeck app instead. Any other apps?
i need some help, i'm trying to upgrade via media creation tool, this crap crashes once it starts to install windows
I have 3 monitors driven by 2 GTX 670s in surround mode and windows 8.1 used to treat each one individually when it comes to window maximizing. Now if I try to maximize in windows 10, it stretches the entire window across. Is there anyway to bring the old behavior back?

So I have to buy it all over again?

While we're at it, how do I make my start menu icons different colors? I noticed you have green boxes with a black theme, unless I'm dumb and that's a mod
EDIT: Found it nvm

that's kinda how owning software works, yes?

This kept happening to me. Eventually I made my account a "local account" then made it a "Microsoft account" again. It worked after that.
Unless it was posted outside this thread

August is like tomorrow :T
My win 7 PC will not run the installer, period. No error message, no nothing. How do I check the logs?

Ok. What the shit? That actually fucking worked.
I look up my issue online and go through all sorts of convoluted solutions that don't work, and something as simple as unlinking my MS account works instantly.
I even attempted to reset my PC earlier, and even that fucked up and (thankfully) reverted itself.
Fucking Windows and Microsoft I swear to god...

AND IT'S FIXED THE ISSUE WITH MY AUDIO DRIVERS PREVENTING SLEEP?
I... I don't even...:hurr:

Yeah, I couldn't find any solutions on the web to the problem. It just happened to be a coincidence that I did that and it worked.
For anyone who runs the command in powershell to remove the preinstalled apps and shit to realize it removes the store as well, here's the command to get the store back. Run it in the Powershell
$app = (Get-AppxProvisionedPackage -Online | where {$_.DisplayName -eq "Microsoft.WindowsStore"}).InstallLocation
Add-AppxPackage -Register $app -DisableDevelopmentMode
Ok so I upgraded my windows 7 to 10. My Windows has 2 users, my brother and me, on my user there are some apps that doesn't open at all, nothing happens when I click on the Store, Calendar, Mail, Photos, One Note, News, Money...
But in my brother's user, everything works.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix it?
that's kinda how owning software works, yes?
Aw yes, I had to buy Half Life 2, 15 times over the years on steam since it kept expiring.
That trick with removing stuff from SoftwareDistribution even managed to make Windows 10 start downloading on a system that never even showed the GWX icon, lmao.

i don't get what the issue is

I have the license, it was given free to me as a student, now since updating to Windows 10 I have to reinstall it and it won't work. Literally can't install the drivers for my GTX 960 either, defiantly a lot of early release bugs.

Sounds like an issue with Adobe.

How does it expire? I've had the same copy tied to my account since 2005.
