I upgraded to Windows 10 successfully on Wednesday. Everything was working fine, so I logged off for the night and went to bed. Yesterday morning, I tried turning on my computer but when it booted up it kept going black and resetting.
You know how you first turn it on, and then it shows that little loading wheel with your personal color as the background? It runs that for about a second, then it flashes back and resets the loading wheel. I have tried restarting it multiple times as well as letting it run for hours on end, neither of which yielded any results. Im currently waiting to talk to a Microsoft person for help, but is there anything else I can do in the meantime? Has anyone else had this type of issue?
Is it true that we updates are mandatory in the new Windows? I sorta want to upgrade but W7 is perfectly fine for me.

there's a tool which can let you mitigate that
I managed to get it installed and working, but as soon as I changed the resolution back to my monitor's native I get an error and Windows keeps restarting itself.
The error was SYSTEM SERVICE ERROR (igdkmd64.sys)
I was told this has to do with my integrated GPU? Would updating its driver fix this?
Is it possible to get a dark theme in windows explorer on Win10?
Am I able to change the taskbar color at all? I can't find an option for it if it exists.

You can set it to use your accent color.

I believe you can via the Accent Color

If you're eligible for an upgrade to Pro there's a "Defer updates" checkbox that prevents updates (besides critical security ones I think) from downloading for a few months. However, you have to uncheck it if you actually want updates more recent than that. If SH/H&S begin bitching about an update just check that box before WU runs its check and you'll be clear.
If you're not eligible for Pro, then disable the Windows Update service.
I uninstalled Windows 10 until i can be bothered to do a fresh install, i have a year so i'm ok, too many driver and compatability issues when i upgraded.
i have no idea where people are getting driver and compatibility issues from, everything on my pcs are working just fine.
meh.
alright! Downloading the files through the media creation tool. 15% done in 2 hours. And I'm on a 100/100 Mbps line. It's gonna take all night

Not everyone has systems comprised of the same components.
I have a friend who is having issues opening programs and drivers not recognizing his GPU, while I have nearly the same setup and I have no issues. It seems kinda hit and miss.
How secure is Edge anyways? Should I continue using it?
it's way lighter and faster than chrome, But how much safer compared to noscript/adblock chrome?

This has got to be a regional throttle by Microsoft. I downloaded and installed Win10 through that tool in like 2 hours tops on my 15/5
Very strange issue on one PC of mine that I upgraded last night. I can't ping it. I can ping out, but not in. Windows Firewall is off so nothing should be blocking ICMP. I can't also access it via RDP or network shares. Anyone see this after upgrading? No network settings changed at all. Tried assigning a different IP to it, didn't help. I'm stumped.

I restarted mine after it spent 6 hours and got to 30% now it's racing through already at 20% and only just restarted it
And done in just under 20 minutes!
I'm not sure if this is exactly a Windows 10 problem, but I didn't have this problem with any other version.
When I plug my phone in, it doesn't show up under "This PC", has anybody else had this problem with Windows 10, and is there a fix?

Oh speaking of this:
GT 530, coming from Windows 7. 64-bit. Had the Win10 drivers pre-downloaded from nVidia because I'm a forward thinker, installed those the instant I got to desktop, haven't had a problem. WU had a little footnote saying "yeah i couldn't install a driver update for this piece of hardware, hope that's OK".
For those having issues with the media creation tool:
You can force Windows Update to actually use those files it downloaded.

After spending the past two days installing Windows 10 in every possible way, multiple times on my desktop, I've finally got it settled in after doing a format. I even have partitions to organize everything.
