Got it working using this tutorial: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-CLEAN-Install-Windows-8-directly-from-Hard-/ Installed Windows 10 in under 10 minutes. The actual install took about 3 minutes, the thing that took longest was booting windows 10 for the first time and installing the graphics driver. This is so neat because it loads the setup directly from your HDD instead of a dvd or usb. If you have a SSD you can probably install and boot windows 10 in under 5 minutes (i have a 1tb samsung spinpoint f3). The only thing i didn't follow from the tutorial was that i copied everything from the windows 10 iso, instead of just the 2 folders and 1 file the tutorial said (better safe than sorry i suppose). If you do this remember when you are in the setup NOT TO FORMAT the hdd you will be using, you should have formated it first and copied the files after. If you format while in setup you will lose the setup files because they are on your hdd. Remember also when the setup is finished and it restarts (it does it 2 times), to choose the "Windows techical preview" from the dual boot menu AND NOT the "Windows setup" option. This is by far the fastest way to installing Windows 10 and any other windows for that matter, if you have a extra hdd or partition to spare. I have wasted so much time installing windows because i didn't know you could do this before.
I'm sorry, this probably has been asked before, but where do you guys download the latest build? I logged in on the windows insider page and it only says that W10 mobile is coming soon, nothing else.
If you mean where to download the windows 10 iso? http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/preview-iso If you allready have windows 10 installed: Go to settings -> Update & Recovery > Advanced settings. Here you can set the preview build option to "fast" to get more frequent updates, but potentielly with more bugs.
The new aero snap option is fucking brilliant, especially on dual monitors. I'd normally have to do the Win + arrows to get something on the left half of my second monitor but in 10 its a click.
what option?

I'm loving everything about Windows 10. I have a problem where in certain games, Steam will crash entirely but that's the only thing bothering me. It's a preview so I'm expecting errors like that to happen anyways.
what option?
this one [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/eR3y2G.png[/t]
It just feels really good to be able to snap four windows across a dual monitor setup. [t]http://puu.sh/f1y01/bd56ea3459.png[/t]
Feels way easier to do it now, especially on my keyboard since I need to switch numlock off to use the arrow keys.
Can you have Cortana open Media Player, and start playing songs or perhaps browse files to open a movie?
hey cortana shuffle hey cortana play that's at least how it's on WP

-snip- I was wrong I guess...

any idea why ethernet isn't working for me under Win10? ethernet won't work under Win8.1 either until I install the drivers for it, so I assume the drivers aren't compatible with Win10? I suppose there's not much I can do if that's the case? ethernet controller http://ark.intel.com/products/71305/Intel-Ethernet-Connection-I218-V mobo http://game.msi.com/product/motherboard/z97-mpower

If the installer gives you flack about it being the wrong version of Windows, install it with Compatibility mode set to Windows 8.
Have you tried installing the 8.1 drivers? I'm unable to apply my color profile
To be honest, you could always do this, but you needed to press Win + left/right arrow key.
I noticed they also made pressing Win+up/down arrow key while snapped to the side, makes said window take up 1/4 of the screen, and the pick a window thing pops up again. all i want from windows 10 is the ability to run fullscreen games without them fucking up the lut and better support for mismatched refresh rate multimonitor setups. using a 120 hz screen with a 60 hz screen is fucked in so many ways. it'd also be nice if my gpu would downclock properly but i don't really care too much about that.
found the problem
Unfortunately that can be a very expensive or impossible problem to fix.
found the problem
i already told you what the problem is, and it's not my setup. that's a pretty stupid thing to say regardless.
You don't even have to say that Just saying play or shuffle does the same thing
"Hey Cortana" is what activates her, without having to physically click. Not sure if it's in Windows 10, yet, but IRRC, it's on Windows Phones that have the denim firm ware.
