Looks pretty slick, though it really highlights how many icons they'll have to redo.
I like the sound of some sort of aero glass returning to Windows too, if you read through other articles about windows 10 build 10036.
I don't think the blur shader is coming back though. Which honestly makes that transparency look awful in some places.
In the above screenshot it looks fine but if there's something under it, it looks bad:

Ewwwww. Showing windows under the start screen is a terrible idea, I hope they scrap it and go back to a nice clean background.

Because it's honestly a useless feature. It's either a mouse movement to one corner and a single, obvious click, or a mouse movement to the other corner and a double click.

Yeah, the blur shader's a necessity if they want to do that.
Adding back Aero glass blur to some things would be great, transparency like that won't work without some sort of blurring
Used to be against it but after seeing what apple has done with blurring, it can work extremely well + makes you focus on what is causing the screen to blur
[editline]15th March 2015[/editline]
like this, where the notification centre blurs out the screen behind it instead of it being see through or adding an obnoxious background
[t]http://i.imgur.com/6vb0zPa.png[/t]
And spotlight search where there's no distractions, plus it blurs in real time when you slowly pull down on it
[t]http://i.imgur.com/lJ08dQt.jpg[/t]
Could work out extremely well if Microsoft took this approach
My Skyrocket had a transparent notification drawer that I modded in myself, and it didn't blur, and it worked for me.
Course, it also darkened whatever was behind it by a significant amount, and that probably contributed

well darkening or blurring would be the better choice but I really like how apple did the blurring with iOS and OSX, it looks super nice with a clean UI

The kicker: If you had a 4 on iOS 7(.1.x), It looks just like 10 right now (no blur, ruining everything)
I still own my copy of Glass8, which thankfully works under Windows 10 so at least I'll be able to hack in some Aero glass transparency. What a bitch to install, though.
Really hating the overuse of hamburger menus.
I'm pretty pissed about the charms menu being removed, it makes Modern UI apps painful to use on my Surface as you have this teeny tiny little hamburger up in the top left you are supposed to hit with a fat finger.
I thought the charms were supposed to stay for users in tablet mode?

This is your reminder that we will never have a user interface as great as the Windows Phone 7 iteration of Metro UI was.

Win+Lock is the ctrl+alt+delete
Having that step on desktop will be a pain in my opinion
I enjoyed not having to put up with it
yeah win+power sends a system interrupt or whatever it is cad does
i thought cad to log on was only a server thing, but you can enable it on normal machines too: http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/308226

Pretty much any domain connected machine I've worked on has required cad.

Because Sinofsky fucked all sorts of shit up and for some stupid reason wanted to emulate Apple's level of secrecy so people wouldn't know something was happening one way until it's far too late to scream "go the other way!".
