Hope it gets better. I get 523 via Chromium. (I'm sure it will being the first release)
Anyone else having random freezes on the latest build?

nothing but "turn off your pc" there [editline]1st April 2015[/editline] gonna try this:
Oh, actually if you can still get into win 10, go into the control panel app, update & recovery, and advanced startup. You will then want to get the command prompt open and run the following.
bootrec /rebuildbcd
That should work. [editline]1st April 2015[/editline] Honestly if you are trying to dual boot windows the way you tried to, you are best off unplugging the drive you definitely don't want it on, the bootloader is thick as shit.
[editline]1st April 2015[/editline] Yea that worked great. Anyways, is it possible to install W10 on the same drive? I was going to shrink the volume of the partition earlier for it but it said I had 0mb free even tho I had at least 20gb free space, unless there's another way to do it
well i'm on windows 10 now
well i'm on windows 10 now
Have fun. It's nice until you realize it's a technical preview and it's plagued with bugs. Brace yourself.
9926 was a stable, solid, daily driver for me. 10041/49 are the complete opposite. :v:
9926 was a stable, solid, daily driver for me. 10041/49 are the complete opposite. :v:
That's because the fast ring no longer pushes out stable builds. Before they would constantly check for issues like the ones you get in 41/49 and release a build when it's fairly stable which is why it usually took over a month for a new build.

Still not as solid as 9926, but still.
I had to roll back from 10049 to 10041 because I would get a Hard Error on startup. Something with explorer.exe. 10049 was a pretty unstable build, so I am glad I rolled back.
Have fun. It's nice until you realize it's a technical preview and it's plagued with bugs. Brace yourself.
It's a technical preview and still in development. Ofcourse there's bugs. It's also an overall damn stable OS and incredible.
only had one blue screen because of my ram but other then that seems just like windows 8.1 but unfinished start menu lol oh ya i cant overclock my mouse anymore to 500hz its stuck at 125hz which is fine.
If it's anything like W8, open regedit, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers (if the Layers key doesn't exist, make it), then add a new string there with C:\Windows\Explorer.exe in it (using explorer here because it always runs, meaning the fix is always active). Right click on the new string > Modify, and enter NoDTToDITMouseBatch in the "Value data" field. Then just open elevated command prompt, enter and execute "Rundll32 apphelp.dll,ShimFlushCache", reboot and your mouse should work at an acceptable refresh rate again.

But other than that it's pretty much fine other than the occasional crash. It seems to really vary between devices actually.
Well, I've never had this happen to me. Funny enough all of the bars are usable: [t]http://puu.sh/h3OQI/077a3377e0.jpg[/t]
Are there any major under the hood changes for 10?

So Windows 10 is old, time for Redstone I guess. http://www.neowin.net/news/redstone-the-codename-for-the-next-windows-update-coming-in-2016
Calling it now, they've switched entirely to a 3D-logic-based programming metaphor.
build 9841 was the best anyway
Snagged a free Lumia 820, did anyone find a way to force install Windows 10 on it after the insider app got patched? [editline]9th April 2015[/editline] Still boggles my mind that no one found a way to remove secure boot and other retarded lockdown features from the WP8 series
https://twitter.com/GabeAul/status/585880417951055873 You should be getting it tomorrow anyway I think, I'd just say hold tight.
Ok ummmmm hello????? Initial their was an issue with enabling the new devices, but that has since been fixed. Apparently a lot of people want the preview.
I don't understand why Microsoft doesn't get into the Smart TV industry with Win 10. They were too slow to get into the Smart Phone industry and it cost them big time, now Smart TVs are up and coming and will only grow from this point forward, why don't they smart manufacturing some TVs loaded with Win 10? Tablet mode on Win 10 looks like it would be perfect for it. They could also shift their console interests to TVs because lets face it, in the future we're not going to have external components to play games and streaming services and whatever off, these will all be apps on the Smart TV. This way MS will also pretty much dominate every tech except smart phones.
They could also shift their console interests to TVs...
That's what they did with Xbox One.

Well they can always start off with TVs and they merge gaming consoles with their TVs later down the track when it's more affordable and can run games better. I'm just saying they gotta hit that smart TV industry now before it's too late

My friends would always bring over their xbox to play Halo, it fit nicely in his back pack. Bricks are easy to move around, but once you start to implement that into expensive monitors, it becomes a big hassle, and a risk of breaking, and an expensive repair
That's true. Well I don't know how MS will do it but it seems like a large market that needs an efficient Smart TV to really revolutionize it, just like Apple and smart phones.
