Windows 10 adds ability to run multiple instances of same app, more features being considered [t]https://www.neowin.net/images/uploaded/2015/06/screen_shot_2015-06-01_at_12.30.36_pm_story.jpg[/t] http://www.neowin.net/news/windows-10-adds-ability-to-run-multiple-instances-of-same-app-more-features-being-considered
I haven't got the little update icon on my windows 7. what do?
If you're coming here wondering why you don't have the app yet the answer is it's a scheduled task that should happen at some point in the next 24 hours. Past that look up the FAQ for it to see why it didn't pop up for you.
The notification isn't showing up for me. And yes, i;ve installed all the updates.
Got the icon to reserve my free upgrade. Does this mean I can reserve it and install it in a few months or even near the end of this year? I don't want to install it after it's released as I'd want to see if there are any post release issues they need to fix beforehand.

You will get the upgrade then. However, you can choose to wait.
To those who've been using Windows 10 builds thus far, is there a noticeable difference in performance on both desktop applications and gaming? I'm also skeptical because when I bought my laptop almost 2 years ago, it had a really big issue with Windows 8.1 after I updated to it from Windows 8 where the key wouldn't automatically load, and TL:DR, Microsoft threatened to charge me criminally for "pirating" until I had to re-enter a different key than I was given by finding it through Belarc Advisor and the issue was resolved. :v:
I've been using the technical preview for almost as long as its been out, switching back and forth between 8.1 and 10. I believe I can notice a difference that the OS itself is faster and games run faster. I have not done any sort of bench marking to prove it but this seems to be the general consensus so I wouldn't be surprised if it was true.
Even tho I really want to upgrade straight to windows 10, I still have a feeling that something will break in spectacular fashion. That and my SSD is way too full for the upgrade anyways. I think I just wait it out and get windows 10 once I get a new PC.

When I first installed Windows 7 I came across the issue of not knowing what was running and what wasn't so often with new applications since it'd automatically go into that bucket instead of the tray. I always use show all.

Haven't gotten it on my machines yet and they are all fully updated.
WOW YOU COULD DO THAT? I always went to the fucking menu.
It's one of those things your stumble across Like Ctrl Alt Tab
if you are on 8 you should instantly move to 10. if you're on 7 like me.... I dunno I love this OS more than I can say it hasn't given me 1 single problem I might switch IF directx 12 does prove to do something amazing like physx. But as it stands right now I don't feel like reinstalling everything again. And that notification that you get by installing some of the recent updates does not help change my mind.
8 is objectively better than 7, though?
It's one of those things your stumble across Like Ctrl Alt Tab
Also, Win + Tab on windows 7
It's one of those things your stumble across Like Ctrl Alt Tab
Or 'Windows+Tab' for a pop-up book experience
It's one of those things your stumble across Like Ctrl Alt Tab
How's that any different from Alt+Tab?
How's that any different from Alt+Tab?
One is persistant
I've been thinking, is 10 stable enough as a daily driver once it's released? I installed Windows 8.1 on my computer only a week ago, and received the notification yesterday already.
does windows 10 have a direct write input? like you actually write in the textfield, rather than opening that panel on the bottom and do it there, kinda like lenovas writeit thingy.
what the flying fuck teach me more
Win + D to minimize everything and show desktop [editline]2nd June 2015[/editline] Win + x for advanced options

I'll probably be using 7 and 10 in a dualboot, just like you had to in Mac OS (9 and early X) 7 for the old stuff and games, 10 for everything else
