I'll probably be using 7 and 10 in a dualboot, just like you had to in Mac OS (9 and early X)

Why would you use 7 for not old games if 10 uses less resources and will have dx12?
Only problem is that Windows 10 notification icon won't go away unless I do the shitty show specific icons option.
the "ALT GR" key is basically ctrl+alt so you only need to press that and tab

Hardware accelerated directdraw, emulation layer sucks dick compared to native support.
For some reason Minecraft doesn't fit the Window properly and some bits at the bottom of the screen get chopped out too. I thought it was the Xbox integration causing this, but doesn't seem to be the case.
Anyone know how to sort this out?

Only "fix" I've got is to F11 into full screen, it's broken in windowed mode on W10 which is annoying - although isn't full minecraft coming to/on the windows store?
For the free upgrade, I am planning on getting a new PC in the next few months. If I upgrade to 10 on my old PC, can I use the same free upgrade on my new PC? Or should I get my free key and wait to install it until I get my new PC?
I have Windows 7 Professional now and I already reserved the upgrade.

I do believe you can reserve the upgrade on both even with the same key

This is a problem with most/all windowed opengl applications, on various builds.

Why would you use directdraw as an example when I specifically said not old games?

Oh, bad reading.
Is it worth installing Windows 10 preview on the Surface Pro 3 yet?
I thought I might want to start using it to get ready for customer questions and how to get around it technically.

In experience tablet mode has quite a few bugs (at least on 10074) so honestly I wouldn't if I were you.
I know its far from finished, but I'm really not sure that i like the new UI direction they seem to be taking, particularly on mobile. The new Music app (on mobile) is a prime example. Where before I could access all parts of the app with a left or right swipe, now everything is hidden in a tiny hamburger button in the top corner. That coupled with oddly tiny buttons (even on my 1520), It just seems like a massive step backward in terms of usability.

I've been using tablet mode on my laptop in 10130, and its been pretty good for me.
On an actual tablet only tablet (HP Stream 7) tablet mode is kind of a wash. I far prefer how Windows 8.1 handles tablety stuff.
Seems like they're focusing on tablet interaction a little more now, though. We'll see. Tablets have never been first-class citizens in the Windows ecosystem...
Is Windows Phone 10 going to be released with Windows 10?

No, WP10 won't be until late this year or early next year.

Did you know: Joe was also responsible for XP's and 95's UX/UI too?
Someone mentioned in the other thread that OEM windows are getting the notification now. Has anyone confirmed this? I checked on mine and I have the GWX folder in sys32, but no notification yet.
I wish there was a way to force this.

Windows 10 for PCs and Tablets is due for July. Windows 10 for phones is due for October, and that's just a rumor.

Being responsible for Windows 95's UI is a serious achievement.

Especially when you compare it to the really early Chicagos.

Even if some are there is a difference between all the OEM versions based on manufacturer. Acer has definitely not got the icon on their OEM yet

i specifically snipped out the reference to Win95, was that not enough or do I need to explicitly say that it was WinXP that had the gross UI

XP wasn't bad either for its time.
Weird issue here but is the bottom right area of the desktop unclickable for anybody else?
I can't click or drag click anything in the bottom area, like above the clock and a few inches left.
