Okay, so I installed W10 on my Acer Switch 10 a hour ago. I did the upgrade thing, kipping my apps so I didn't have to get the drivers from acer. So far so good, everything is working nice, except the Start menu not responding sometimes. I find it way better than W8
EDIT: wasn't W10 supposed to get rid of the recovery ?
Is there a way to remove the timebomb from preview builds? I want to install Windows 10 on a spare computer and I don't have spare keys [of 7/8.1] for upgrading nor want to resort to piracy methods
Isn't using the software outside of its legal limitations piracy?
Soo. Apparently windows 10 has the streaming shit in now.

I haven't seen anything about it being implemented yet. They talked about it at E3, so maybe he's just a bit late with the news (as they talked about it back in January or whatever).

The real test is gaming - the latency needs to be pretty low (it probably will be, but still).
If I install 10 right now, do I have to reinstall it or something in July 29th when it's officialy release?
Had to go back to 8.1 because 5.1 sound is broken for creative sound cards. The digital audio/spdif is broken too

pretty sure removing the timebomb on a time limited software is also piracy???/
Has anyone got Xbox One to Windows 10 streaming working? All is good for me up until it comes to displaying the stream, then instead of showing the stream, the Xbox App just darkens.
Let's hope it will also have better compatibility in the terms of gaming this time as I have noticed many problems on Windows 8.1 meizu

Strange bug for Win10 regarding my AMD laptop. Sometimes it flips the screen landscape on click. Every time. The only way to fix it is to restart. Need new drivers asap

been trying it it's fun.
i have xbox preview and i dont know how invites work but i dont mind inviting people if i can figure out how
Is the recovery partition still needed by W10 ?
does compatability mode in win10 work alot better than it did in win8/8.1 (some older games randomly crashed)

Been using it myself aswell :v: you have to go into the dashboard preview app and invite people through that :v: Doesn't seem to be any input lag or lag at all aslong as your connection is decent enough which is great
I have a problem with updates.
I originally had a Razer Deathadder but I since changed to a Logitech mouse.
When I go to windows update it keeps saying theres an update for the deathadder, and it tries to do it but fails.
How can I get rid of this? It's like its not detecting the Deathadder is gone

For those who want to see how stable it is.

Edit: Nevermind, a previous posted had a solution!

I guess they're going to rename Cut, Copy, and Paste to Microsoft Cut, Microsoft Copy, and Microsoft Paste too?

It kinda makes sense though, because Chrome has its own "Save to PDF", and there are also other PDF print drivers like CutePDF.

But it's a verb/action, not a brand.

Go Go Gadget Copy
Go Go Gadget PrintToPDF

But it means that they are in equal terms if other groups want to make a pdf converter.
A brand can have both negative and positive views from an individual.
It also doubles to actually let the user know it's a Microsoft item, rather just being unidentifiable to non tech-savvy users, allowing them to access proper help, or report errors in the correct ways
So my Xbox app kept failing to update. I eventually hit the cancel button, and now the update doesn't show up on the beta store even after restarting my computer. I guess I'll never get to test out streaming.
*snip* nvm
Does anyone else's explorer.exe crash when shutting down windows?
