Where did ya get 10147 from? Did it get released or did it leak?
[QUOTE=the_grul;48011632]Where did ya get 10147 from? Did it get released or did it leak?[/QUOTE]
Leaked.
Also, This is probably wrong as it seems misleading in the twitter message but.

[QUOTE=Daemon White;48011657]But... what version of Win10?[/QUOTE]
I'm guessing the standard Home edition.

Thanks for the update :)
Also, do anyone else's desktop icons occasionally decide to take Viagra and become 4 inches big?

SSHHHHHHHHHHHHH
BASK IN FREE WINDOWS 10 FOR EVERYONE[/QUOTE]
I'm definitely hopping on that train again once I free space and can dual-boot it.
Does anyone know if 10147 fixed creative sound cards? I saw on one of the windows forums a dev saying that it required a windows update to fix it, not a driver update.
My girlfriend just had her windows 10 to update, and now her ethernet is broken beyond repair. Apparently some system files are corrupt too. Such joy. Eternally 'limited'.
Meanwhile, I am sitting underneath her network adapter on a win 8 laptop connected via wifi just fine, and trying to understand what went wrong this time around.
I am never going to touch windows 10 even with a biohazard suit on.
You had a problem with an unfinished OS? Weird.

You know Windows 10 is a beta system right? I wouldn't walk into a minefield ignoring all warnings and only having the hope of not expecting the mine to blow up

Yeah, sorry. You're a bit stupid. Windows 10 isn't an EA-style beta, it's a proper unfinished bit of software. This isn't "download it now to play around with the finished product" like you're used to.
That's why the disclaimer is there. You shouldn't expect a beta build to work perfectly, or even at all.
[QUOTE=Havolis;45397581]wait, what? windows 8.1 performed way better than windows 7.[/QUOTE]

Windows 8 is faster than 7 at.. just about anything, AFAIK.
Tell me what Win7 does faster, and then back it up.

Well, DirectDraw support. But that only affects you if your playing games from 1996. :v:

Even on the Win10 preview- this is considerably faster than 7.

Up through 2003, if you count KOTOR.
So am I going to be able to get my free win10 and put it on a dvd? Is it an ISO file?

You can download an ISO file. I don't know if it's an updated one or the first one and have to apply updates after installation though.

June update ISO is here
I just installed 10 on my tablet here. It runs nice. And uses much less storage. But is the store down currently? I just keep getting we encountered an error, try again later.
Installing 10 now. Just in time because my copy of 7 was so old and fucked with, it barely worked anymore.
[editline]20th June 2015[/editline]
What I'm saying is, even if 10 shits all over itself on my PC, its a step up :v:
[editline]20th June 2015[/editline]
I also got the insider updates for my phone but I guess winders 10 isn't out for it yet.

Apparently associating my computer login with my MS ID fixed it. I guess. Aside from a few bugs here and there, this works real nice.
And were off to a great start. Installing, the screen and resolution were fine, but the actual desktop screen was off center and way smaller than it should be. :v:
Although I'm trying this on my sisters old laptop too and every time I have to force a reboot when I install a driver because it causes the keyboard and touchpad to stop working. Which is weird.

I wish you could associate your MS login with a local account, but keep the local account for local login. Its been bugging me that I have to sign in twice because I dont want to use my MS account as my computer account.
How much space should have free for a VM Machine + This
Thinking about getting w10, just a few questions
1) how stable is it? Is there any crashing(if so, by doing whatwhat?), or any issues that can be noticed without intentionally looking for them?
2) does upgrading wipe your hard drive?
3) How good is Microsoft edge?
4) is there any difference in speed/optimization to what I currently run on? (W8.1)
5) is it actually worth upgrading right now?
Is there anyway I can force a resolution? Shits fucked up.
[editline]20th June 2015[/editline]
Like, its the proper resolution but everything is cut off on the sides. I don't get it.
[editline]21st June 2015[/editline]
updated drivers, we're all good here, working flawlessly. Which worries me a bit.

i'd also like to know this
i fucked my hard drive order or something like that, my computer's been wonky ever since, also says my windows isn't genuine, when it totally is
i'm thinking i should wipe my hard drive and start again, and so my options are:
1- give HP 40 bucks for recovery media that i forgot to make, or
2- upgrade to windows 10, wipe my HD for free, and have a spiffy new OS
Do you not have a product key on the bottom of your laptop?
