desktop, and yes i do, but i don't think that'd solve the issues i've been having, short of the validation popup. i could do that, and probably should, but i'm pretty sure i'd still need to wipe my HD
Did you ever install the drivers for it?
i'm fairly certain i have, though i'm honestly not entirely sure short of simple stuff you teach your parents to do, i really have no idea what i'm doing with computers
Thinking about getting w10, just a few questions 1) how stable is it? Is there any crashing(if so, by doing whatwhat?), or any issues that can be noticed without intentionally looking for them? 2) does upgrading wipe your hard drive? 3) How good is Microsoft edge? 4) is there any difference in speed/optimization to what I currently run on? (W8.1) 5) is it actually worth upgrading right now?
1. I had my fair share of crashes, as expected for a non-stable release. YMMV. Some people had no problems, and some people had. 2. Can't answer this as I always format my HDD before upgrading/reinstalling 3. Looks good to me. It doesen't really feel that bloated than Chrome or Firefox to me. Haven't taken a look at resource usage yet. 4. Haven't really felt a difference. 5. Personally. No, unless you want to risk wiping your HDD in a month again when stable W10 hits (I don't know if you can upgrade from Preview -> Stable).
Is there anyway I can force a resolution? Shits fucked up. [editline]20th June 2015[/editline] Like, its the proper resolution but everything is cut off on the sides. I don't get it. [editline]21st June 2015[/editline] updated drivers, we're all good here, working flawlessly. Which worries me a bit.
Was gonna ask if you had overscan / underscan on in the graphics drivers.
Upgraded both my pc and laptop to 10 buggy as shit rn because I haven't got the right drivers and they're taking forever to load but I'm happy to say that installing 10 on my bloated acer PC has pretty much killed all the shit controls it had on the hardware so no complaining in that field
Is anyone else running the W10 preview on a lenovo T400 or other similar thinkpad with a trackpoint? I am having some issues with the middle button under the trackpoint not acting like a normal middle mouse button and wondering if anyone has found a way to restore it in w10. I've upgraded without formatting first and it kept all my data and apps from W7.

None are usually critical, just more like you have to relaunch something. As for edge, its pretty nice. Resource usage is low and its quick. Although since many web apps aren't designed for it yet, some are a bit broken, like Google music. I've been trying it so far on my tablet and its pretty nice. Performance wise its as good if not better than 8.1.
My T430u has the same issue, there's no updated Synaptics drivers with Trackpoint support is the issue.
Thanks! I was looking through the beta w10 drivers but nothing's available yet for these models. I guess it's a matter of contacting lenovo and hope they listen. I also have an issue that some apps like the App Store don't open, instead they just hang at loading. I've tried this fix but I get the message:
Deployment failed with HRESULT: 0x80073D02, The package could not be installed because resources it modifies are currently in use.
Not sure how to find the task that is causing this package to be installed. Name: Microsoft.Windows.ShellExperienceHost_cw5n1h2txyewy!App. Anyone have a similar issue?
Update, June 21st 9:45AM: Microsoft has updated its blog post today and removed references to "remain activated." The stealthy edit isn't acknowledged, and we've reached out to the company for comment.
So, I directly upgraded from 7 to 10. I assume, since it didn't ask for a key, it used my 7 key? Will I get to keep 10?

On 10 now using a separate partition. How do I set Windows to use the main / larger partition to look for drivers / software / etc?
Is there a way to resolve the "A Critical error has occurred in the shell Infrastructure Host. Start Menu, Cortana, and some apps may not be available. please save your work and sign-out to recover." bug? Singing out doesn't work and neither does a reboot and I can't get to user accounts to sign in as someone else

Problem is, I installed it directly from an ISO
Problem is, I installed it directly from an ISO
I very much doubt there is a DVD. I think he was making a joke about expecting support for an unfinished bug fiesta of a product. I don't know how to fix your issue. Personally I would attempt a reinstall.
Has anyone managed to get 10 working on a BootCamp Mac? It isn't hard to just go and get the drivers instead of Apple's.
I already tried a reinstall, didn't work. I am getting so pissed at this piece of crap I am about to snap my keyboard in half. I can't access anything on my main pc. Is there any way to recover win 7?

reinstall did nothing and for some reason whenever I log in to safe mode because whenever I put in my password it says "Parameter is incorrect"
Does windows 10 fix screen scaling? I have a 4k and a 1080p monitor and can't disable the scaling on the 1080p monitor no matter what I change the settings to

But then again, 8.1 is supposed to be able to do that as well, so I don't really know what's really your problem.

So it turns out I got the Windows 10 version of the Android crash where it can't connect to the google servers. All fixed!
fixed all issues on my desktop, 10 runs brilliantly my laptop however, not so well, it's on my floor, it looks like its on life support
Installed Windows 10, very smooth everything is where I left it. Though I can't seem to delete the 'Windows.Old' folder, I can't see to set permissions to allow deletion for most of the files. Edit: Oh right Drive Cleanup
I wish windows 10 for windows phones was available. The fast lane insider update bricked my phone last time I tried it (which was last night) and I had to reflash it. Which isn't a big deal since everything is backed up anyway, just more inconvenient than anything. I got a glimpse of 10 for phones and it was beautiful.
find the/a product code, download it from MS's website, and reinstall? you'll need something to burn a cd though, or a flashdrive with enough room.
Dumbest post I've seen this year. This is not needed and will wipe the computer. They issued both recovery mediums and roll back tools so that the data can be maintained for rolling back to previous versions. Using regular installation media to roll back is not needed for the preview
Aight good news, managed to get windows 10 to stop using the Microsoft basic adapter and use the Intel HD graphics card for basic graphic processing I suspected it was trying to use the Nvidia card to do that but the card is only in the laptop for heavy duty programmes Windows update is stuck tho, anyway to deep reset Windows update?
