Mine took fucking 5ever to download 10130, I just went to sleep and let it do its thing. When I woke up it was good to go.
Thing is tho that it didn't take forever on my desktop and it's been like this for now an hour
Last night it didn't budge past 1%. So I'm confident in saying windows update has hung itself.
Fair enough. I'm dumb so idk what to tell you. I managed to fuck up installing 10 even though its a one button process. I'm all sorted now though and I'm just in love. I haven't liked an operating system like this since I figured out how to even computer, on XP.

I have yet to get windows update to work on Win10. It just doesnt do anything. Damn dots moving across the screen endlessly
Well you guys are testers, write to Microsoft about it, or post about it on their forums, and hope its fixed.
If it helps at all, my update was hanging because of an incompatible program. By clicking the update page 9001 times it finally prompted me with a "hey chuckle fuck remove some shit so we can get the show on the road" window. After doing that it blazed through the rest of the update.
My store keeps giving me an error 0x8024A003 when I try to update my Xbox app. I've tried WSReset.exe to clear the cache and everything, but it doesn't seem to get rid of the cached update because it basically 'instantly' downloads when I select it to update from my update list. I just want to try streaming damn it. Any ideas?
Aight so the update went through (took a long time) and my laptop is running faster than it was on 8. Insider preview destroyed half the crapware on it, thank fuck
Cortana keeps saying it's not available in my region but it works fine on my desktop? I think I may of set my home computer to UK tho and not Australia. I'll fiddle with the settings and break something important
[editline]22nd June 2015[/editline]
yeah just set it to UK and what you know it works
also does anyone know when MS will launch an app store for edge? I'm falling in love with this browser

Cortana used to work on my tablet
Then I installed the AU keyboard language
I switched regions to the UK, also what's with start and metro apps. So unorganised, like in w8 it was all aligned properly and looked cool, but in w10 it's all over the shop
Trying out the XB1 to W10 streaming, it works very very well over my LAN connection. Quality could be better. Also I noticed my streaming Bandwidth doesn't seem to go far past 9mbps. is that a problem on my end or something microsoft does? For comparison Steam Streaming goes into the 100s.
I wish windows 10 for windows phones was available. The fast lane insider update bricked my phone last time I tried it (which was last night) and I had to reflash it. Which isn't a big deal since everything is backed up anyway, just more inconvenient than anything.
I got a glimpse of 10 for phones and it was beautiful.
It is available. The fast lane update is Windows 10 for Mobile. It's just still incredibly unstable.

Yeah, the bitrate isn't very good in my opinion. Especially when you compare it to the quality of Steam's streaming, Xbox One's streaming is substantially worse.
Latest build, anyone having issues with the store?
It keeps saying "The server stumbled Error Code 1" and I can't find anything on it.

Is this still a thing in Windows 10? Any other privacy/security concerns? I haven't been bothered to check it out thoroughly.

That will be in as long as you're using the technical preview.
There are a bunch of things for cortana, and things along the lines of location tracking, advertising ID. All of that can be disabled if you don't want to use it, but most of it is opt-out.

Found those settings yesterday.
Well, looks like we get to keep Windows 10 past the RTM and it will stay activated... So long as we're on an insider build. Apparently the program will last through Windows 10's life cycle.
is there any reason not to install the preview now as a replacement for 7?
Sooo, the "Get Windows 10" tray icon thing I had on 8.1 disappeared and won't come back when I try launching the exe again, should I be worried? Windows Update still says "Windows upgrade reserved" but nothing happens when I click "show confirmation"

If you want to deal with bugs time to time, sure. Otherwise I'd just stick with 7. I put 10 on my laptop and had issues for the first 3 days, but for the last week or so it's been fine not including the amount of times an app has crashed.
How is the performence of Win10 for you guys? I installed it to my laptop and I noticed its a lot slower. Games perform worse too. I checked my drivers everything is up to date. I'm yet to try win10 on my desktop.

I have installed into a 2007 acer netbook (1.6ghz atom single core, 1gb ram) and it's way more faster than 7 and 8

I tried it on my desktop machine. Noticeably slower.
Looked at benchmarks on the internet, they also had reduced scores in PCMark, videogame framerates etc when comparing Windows 10 with Windows 7 however it did perform better than 8.1 in many areas.
My laptop had tremendous issues until I updated everything
My main desktop PC has no audio because win10 fucked up the audio drivers, had to plug my headphones into my keyboard for the time being
Performance wise on both areas, absolutely 0 difference tbh. It's neither faster nor slower than 8 in my experiences so far after I fixed the driver issues
However I do find the start menu crashes a fair bit and locking the computer can take an unusually long time. Notification centre can be a pain in the ass to open, Spartan is faster than chrome but lacks extensions. OneDrive still pisses me off, I can't tell it to fuck off just like in 8 where it constantly needed to be on. There's no clear way to set a metered connection nor is there a way to view internet usage like in 8
And I miss the charms bar, it was really useful
I think battery performance got better with 10? But I'll have to learn that over time

Running win8 apps is painful, I hope devs are updating them as we speak because it feels like I'm running a legacy application

These windows would look so much better if they were blurred

So i tried installing the win10 insider preview build on my win7 pro desktop, i got to the install stage and it notified me that my pc would be restarting multiple times during the install, but after the first restart it just gets stuck on this screen

i cant even boot up Windows anymore and the startup repair tool just gives me a black screen aswell, what do i do?
I'm sure they're going to be blurred frux don't worry.
Looks like they're bringing the sexy blur to most places. This blur looks way better than it did in 7 as well.
Has anyone else seen the transparency in the store app? When you scroll down, you see stuff behind the header section Yosemite style. Hope they bring some more of that, it looks tasty.
Also there's a dark theme in the music app (you have to enable it in settings) and it looks a bit messy so far but it's got potential.
From a design perspective, 10 is really exciting. Especially since it's windows, which has never been so tasteful before.
I'm pretty pleased with Windows 10 overall, my only complaint is I'd have preferred an expanding start menu like Windows 7 rather than a tiny list of applications but I've got used to searching now instead.
I did not see any bugs when testing it, well my computer blew up but I don't think you can blame that on Windows.
I really hate the new Mail Client. The one on Win8 was great.
Might have to go back using my browser for mail.

Seems to be blurred for me, build 10130.

I had an update sitting in windows update so I'll see if that's the blur update
[editline]24th June 2015[/editline]
also, i really like the new animations, like when windows appear or open it gently zooms in (hard to describe but you can see it)
I hope more apps jump onto this new modern application system, I absolutely love it I think it's amazing
Also, is there a special w10 version of skype?
