Updates haven't downloaded since forever. Been stuck at 0% since an hour and a half ago, so I can't upgrade to the recent version. I'm on version 10130
download the ISO, unpack into a folder, run setup. Its what I had to do
http://blogs.windows.com/bloggingwindows/2015/07/09/announcing-windows-10-insider-preview-build-10166/ This is all that they're saying. But looks to me like it's the most stable build. [editline]9th July 2015[/editline] For fucks sake razer [t]http://i.imgur.com/moZNMVuh.jpg[/t]
If anyone anywhere knows how to remove it from the firmware that would benefit many goddamn people
And we're activated again
One thing I really dislike about 10 is the fact it's installing all this printer software because it find it over the network. I don't even use a printer but I get to have this bloatware installed on my computer.
I'm glad that it doesn't search the extended network, or workgroup(?) There are a lot of printers here, and I can connect to them directly, but I guess that they are not a part of my subnet
If you disable the print spooler service before it finds a printer you might be able to keep it from trying to install one
Yeah I'll probably just do that. But it's not quite a great solution considering you used to be able to ignore/hide updates and those in particular were marked as optional and not selected for install to begin with.
Feels good to finally get updates as they come. [editline]10th July 2015[/editline] All of my Realtek driver issues disappeared in the 10166 update. This is a good update.
If anyone anywhere knows how to remove it from the firmware that would benefit many goddamn people
Yes please. It's such a terrible piece of software... I would love to remove the install files from the keyboard itself.
So I'm curious, are the previews stable enough that I'd be fine installing it onto my main computer with minimal issues or is it still rather buggy?
Does anyone know if it's possible to get the recently played jumplist back on Steam on the taskbar? It's really annoying that it's gone.
Is it possible to get apps permanently on the list where "Most Used" and stuff is? [t]http://i.imgur.com/orXkyCP.png[/t]
Alright so how do I get that "extra key for insiders"? I'm going to be building a HTPC for in home streaming and I'd love to have an extra copy.
I got my replacement laptop. Windows 10 is coming in a bit more than half a month and I don't want to do the work of setting up twice in one month, so fuck it. I'm installing the preview. So I downloaded that preview upgrade executable of 2MB from microsoft, and it just opened windows update, which in turn did nothing. I then installed all the updates it could find, but it still doesn't do anything. Now I'm just downloading the ISO instead [editline]10th July 2015[/editline] Oooh holy shit, this looks fancy. I've had to fill in an evaluation key. Can I fill in my Windows 8 OEM key later? edit: One weird thing: it took 5 to 10 minutes to start the sublime text installer. Explorer froze until the actual UAC popup came up. Weird. edit: I cannot get over how slick this looks.

Guys, I'm having touchpad troubles. The touchpad only does very basic things (moving mouse, left and right click) but literally nothing else. No scrolling, no multitouch, no disabling when a mouse is inserted etc. Laptop is Dell XPS 15 9530 I have tried installing the Dell synaptics drivers, but they do nothing. The program works, but it doesn't affect the touchpad in any way, regardless of what I do with its settings. I'm on the slow track, build 10162, is this a known issue? If not, how do I solve it? Google couldn't help me this time either. [editline]10th July 2015[/editline] Oh, and I don't know what to do with this: [t]http://i.imgur.com/QOFuBEC.png[/t] It won't find the drivers automatically.
I haven't installed the insider preview yet. I work at Best Buy, so we put it on one of our computers to try it out, and I love it. This is my main computer, and I know one of the posts above says that the latest build is pretty solid, but is there any risk to putting it on this PC? Will it effect my files? What about programs like Mod Manager for Fallout, etc?
Only way is to pin it on the right side as tile.
That's a bit of a shame to be honest. :(

You may need to search for the HardwareID on Google to find out which is which.

Wasn't even an email [t]http://7proxies.pw/i/2015/07/15-07-11_08-13-28.png[/t] But my outlook account needs fixing apparently and doesn't work because the identity window just crashes [editline]11th July 2015[/editline] And my region is set to English (australia) in case anybody thought otherwise

This would be a godsend for my Chinese/Korean MMOs still in alpha.

Can anyone confirm is this is just me or not. Going into the mail app then settings crashes it.
Not on 10130
Open the windows store and make sure it's updated I find a few applications just crash a lot I just come back later and it's working fine
Guess I'm throwing this on my desktop now. I figure we're close enough that I can ride it out through release. My Windows 7 install's become increasingly unstable lately, so I don't have a whole lot to lose. Still got this laptop, too.
Someone posted this on the neowin forum https://people.mozilla.org/~shorlander/mockups/Windows-10/Windows-10.html I think Australis looks and works nice in windows applications Hope that theme support will be usable in the final version [editline]11th July 2015[/editline] also cornered tabs I guess https://people.mozilla.org/~shorlander/mockups/Windows-10/Old-01/Windows-10.html
I really hope they remove the rounded tabs.
So I'm curious, are the previews stable enough that I'd be fine installing it onto my main computer with minimal issues or is it still rather buggy?
tbh, I wouldn't bother. Only 3 weeks until release.
