There's been a few changes to names
I just use WinAero's tool to manage it
what is facepunch general opinion on the edge browser?
personally im in love with it but kicking the chrome habit was a bit hard at the beginning when youre used to all your stuff, passwords and autofills accumulated over the years just being there in one place
Page prediction works here on facepunch, it's pretty handy
Are user accounts no longer administrators by default? Is there no way to get around that? (Windows 10)
I really have no idea what that disagree is for :v:
How do I acesso safe mode? My Windows is not working
[editline]18th July 2015[/editline]
No signs of disk activity :(
Used ccleaner to wipe some files. When it finished I tried to run chrome and it crashed. Restarted and now, after the Ácer splash screen I get a black screen.
I'm gonna cry. Did I just kill my computer?

Such a pain in the ass but oh well, I'm going to revert back to Windows 8. I shouldn't had wasted my time with the 10240 ISO until Windows was officially released but I at least had an excuse to break some stuff around and see how everything does behave overall.
There's quite a few large issues so far though, I hope it'll get more stable.
I most likely broke it myself when I tried removing the Xbox App (and maybe some other apps, not sure).

Heh, I didn't just randomly delete stuff around. And it's not my fault if they keep bundling all this bloatware I don't even care about, why can't I simply choose not to install this stuff. :plsunderstand:
Whose idea was to tie such things to the system anyway, bunch of twats.
Might as well switch to freaking linux :excited:
[editline]19th July 2015[/editline]
I had an update and now it's fine :what:
bloatware such as what?
What did you clean?
Chrome cache, Steam cache, Edge cache, recyle bin, etc
I also used the Windows Disk Cleaner to wipe Windows.old folder, not sure which one made my computer almost die
Managed to open recovery mode somehow and refreshed the system. Phew
bloatware such as what?
Not really bloatware but, stuff I'll never end up using anyway which I wish I could get rid of. I was really hoping that Windows would become a bit more modular with the package system.

Making Windows 10 free was already a massive stretch for Microsoft. Giving the option to remove shit you don't want would never happen.
They wouldn't dream of letting you remove Bing and Xbox.

What really bothers me about the newer versions of Windows is the extended lack of control, I really wish they would stop hiding so many options from the user, an example being the newly forced Windows Updates thing (drivers included) (not being able to properly tell Windows to shove those updates up it's ass, and not reboot my computer as I'm working on something), but Windows hasn't been released yet, so I have no idea if those things will change in the future.

It also tells you if you have a restart scheduled in the action centre
anyone else getting issues with the nvidia drivers since the last two builds
been getting weird graphical glitches and some games don't load due to driver crashes (World of warships is a example) . i re-install the drivers every build tho.
i hope it isn't my SLI going crazy or something.
edit:
apparently jamming re-installs down it's throat fixes it
whatever

There's this option for drivers via windows update, if they didn't remove it in the non pro version.

I still don't understand why they feel the need to spread everything out so much, instead of putting all these options in one single place (as I said, more or less) V:v:V
Tanks though :poot:

I'm on Windows Pro and I don't have that at all.

Maybe down the line Microsoft will take the time to clean the windows
It'll be a big task though
You guys suck at doing the windows things, just type "Device Installation Settings" into the start menu and press enter.

Maybe I'm not being clear enough or something. I'll take screenshots instead I guess. It'll probably pop up if I set Windows to English but I don't care right now, on my Laptop I'm fine with the automated stuff.

This doesn't work when using a different language pack.

Works for some things
Computer booted in Japanese, searching 'news' or 'language' still returned their applications, despite the language settings
also click Chiedi ogni volta
you missed the most important setting

That why people don't use different language packs.
My open\save file dialogs don't remember sorting settings that I need for certain folders, am I the only one with this problem? (10240)

353.50 drivers are quite buggy it seems, you probably installed 353.30 which is the latest on their website.
Can you upgrade from windows 8 to 10? Or do I have to be on 8.1 first before upgrading with the 10240 iso
Don't think it matters
I'm pretty sure you have to be on 8.1.

I haven't had any real noticeable bugs on 353.50, but I do wonder if the freezes are caused by it. I'll try 353.30 and see how that works out for me.

For some reason I can't rearrange icons pinned to start menu. Dragging them does not work.
