The very thin borders on windows feels odd, though I can get used to it, I think it is nice in the long run.
Windows seem to have a shadow on them as well when overlapped another program.

I was just gonna upgrade on my normal desktop, is this a terrible idea? (I accept that it could stuff up, but major stuffups don't sound too likely and I've used Windows 7 and 8 betas.)

I really wish they would let you pin live tiles to the desktop... It would be like the gadget bar in vista, but better in my eyes.
Those massive shadows under windows look pretty neat imo

Wonder if there's a registry value to change it's intensity and stuff
Winaero usually makes a lot of programs that change these, I have like 3px window borders on win8 due them them :)
If you update your main OS with this, everything should still work shouldn't it? I want the multiple desktop now.

Test it for a few days first, don't jump in

I'm putting it onto my tablet because it's an environment that's used to change and data-loss :v:
Currently downloading myself a copy too. I'm really damn curious.
I'm wondering how it will run on my five year old Inspiron 1545
Installed, works really good. Now I need to use it :)
I'm installing it onto my First Generation Surface, while touch isn't ready yet, I do want to give feedback for both the touch and keyboard UI.
Might Hyper-V it on my desktop

Just realised I had downloaded a gigabyte of American English version.
NOPE, fuck that, English UK
Restart download
Now i'm really curious where the differences between the US and UK versions are :v:
Did they just change stuff like 'color' to 'colour'? lol
In other news, i hate my internet:

Step 1: press F1
Go from there
snip, my issue seems to have been a bug
This part of the original message is still relevant, though:

What about signing in without a Microsoft account? Or does that just make one?
GNU/Linux is shit for consumer computing, click on the "Sign In without a Microsoft Account" button, create your local account there.

Go into taskview, right click the program of choice there.

There is a 'Sign in without a Microsoft account' button right there.

I know, duh, that didn't do anything for me - I assumed it was due to this being an evaluation version or something like that.

I guess you need an account to send feedback to Microsoft. If you are againts it don't bother testing Windows 10.

Home page in file explorer, seems neat, the picture is a failed attempt at capturing the window, the other is a downloaded file.
Some replaced icons finally.
Since they're going for high-dpi deployment, it would be stupid as fuck to not change all the icons eventually.
I don't mind if it's not completed yet however
snip, apparently this was introduced with Windows 8

Why would you use an operating system that tries to sell stuff to you?
I hope you can disable it somehow.
It's nothing I'd care about while testing this in a VM, but something that would put me off if I had to seriously use it.
Lol osx,
Anyway, you'd only use it for some system updates.
Some being only new operating system overhauls
[editline]2nd October 2014[/editline]
They're deploying modern applications onto every Microsoft platform.
And in reality I would be more comfortable with Microsoft with my bank account that a lot of other independent sellers

It worked fine for me.

Can we stop talking about things that were new approximately two years ago when Windows 8 came out?
snip, apparently people like flat UIs
I like how open windows have a nice shadow.
