Literally what I have been saying. Need to be able to sign in with a local account while still having a Microsoft account logged in for the apps
SP1 maybe? Here's hoping...
I'm not sure how to install windows 10 on my SSD while also formatting my HDD of Windows 7, without installing Windows 7 on the SSD first. I'm going to have to, aren't I. That's so annoying. To hell with system moving all that shit from one drive to another and breaking everything in the process Unless there's an ISO I can burn to disc
You should still be able to perform a clean install. Even if it means upgrading on your hdd to get a new key. [editline]26th July 2015[/editline] (A ISO will likely be available in some capacity.)
So, I just installed the insider preview on my desktop and I can't seem to get the 10240 update. It keeps telling me I'm up to day, but I know I'm not.
It takes some time, when I was on 10166 it took about 5 hours for the update to show up. Some people on this thread saidsaid that switching between the fast and slow ring made the update show up immediately.
Can someone point me towards what I would need to do now to upgrade to Windows 10 before the release date, since I've read around that it's possible but I can't find where it said that now? For reference, I have Windows 8 Pro (activated). Additionally, if I were to opt-out of being an insider, would I keep my license for Windows 10?

So it gets stuck on it and I can't skip it. [editline]26th July 2015[/editline] So am I fucked? I can't get any other updates.

You need to change some registry entries to get yourself on the correct update branch. Open regedit.exe and navigate to 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost\Applicability' and change these values to TH1 BranchName = TH1 preferedbranchName = TH1 No need to reboot. Just check for updates again.

The RTM iso is already available : http://getintopc.com/softwares/operating-systems/windows-10-pro-build-10240-iso-32-64-bit-free-download/
Glad to hear I'm not the only one with Nvidia drivers disappearing, Microsoft sure have fucked up here. How can they not learn its a bad idea to remove drivers before a shutdown or restart.
Well, I blocked the updates for it. And two days later, the same fucking thing happens. At this moment in time I feel Linux is giving me less headaches and am wanting for some sort of game porting extravaganza to occur over night. Because seriously this shit is headache stuff and I'm a person who's been working to start a career in IT for the last few years. Edit: Restarted and they came back, but absolutely no indication that I had to do that. Seriously, I wish they would not uninstall my drivers while the machine is actually in use.
MS released a tool to block/hide unwanted updates http://www.zdnet.com/article/microsoft-releases-tool-to-hide-or-block-unwanted-windows-10-updates/

Also my mouse is now unresponsive in games now. It keeps turning to the right and while it was humourous to try and play GTA V using it I eventually stopped to avoid me throwing up.
New nvidia drivers which appear to fix the secondary monitor screen tearing issue.
New nvidia drivers which appear to fix the secondary monitor screen tearing issue.
Link? I have this problem a lot
use windows update, make sure you're insider preview channel thingy
Yeah just noticed that now, ta anyway
use windows update, make sure you're insider preview channel thingy
I'm not on the insider channel, slow or fast ring, and the drivers were pushed to me.
Can the insider channel break things ? I need an update to get rid of this bug I got with the mail app. Here is what I got when I try to add an account, does the same on calendar app : Btw I just got the new nvidia driver via windows update, and I'm not on the insider channel either.
Will I be able to create local user accounts instead of online ones with Windows 10 like in 8.1?
I just finished building a windows 7 machine, but the 10 update symbol isn't in the tray. The windows 7 installation is fully updated and everything, how can I get the update option?
Will I be able to create local user accounts instead of online ones with Windows 10 like in 8.1?
Yes.
Was in the middle of a game and Win10 was like, NEW NVIDIA DRIVER And uninstalls the old one to install the new one :|

They're the only software I'm not okay with installing on day 0, plus I'd much rather install them through Geforce Experience
Will this let me block Nvidia driver updates entirely? They're the only software I'm not okay with installing on day 0, plus I'd much rather install them through Geforce Experience
I think it will only let you block updates that have been released already.
Was in the middle of a game and Win10 was like, NEW NVIDIA DRIVER And uninstalls the old one to install the new one :|
Every single gamer that uses Windows 10 Home should get to experience this, what an excellent idea.
Was in the middle of a game and Win10 was like, NEW NVIDIA DRIVER And uninstalls the old one to install the new one :|
My updates keep failing so I'ma just gonna wait till the full release and clean install.
I'm impatient so I got 10240 and cleanly installed it on a laptop to test. Do I need to reinstall when it's released tommorow or will there be an update to the preview build?
