Anyone know how to force start the download?
Anyone here fluent in slavic languages Feel like the answer is their internet somewhere
Hey guys my GWX is always crashing when I try to start it up, so I don't know if it's downloading my upgrade in the first place or not. Funny thing is that GWX icon on the tray showed up a few days ago, and has been crashing since. I went to windows update and It said it reserved my upgrade.. I'm not sure how tho, since it's been crashing forever now. Any help with this?
Any way to put downloaded windows on usb and boot from there?
This is now in my Windows Update history..
:words:
Someone chucked in their own private printer into the network I can now remotely print to it Windows also download the modern app for it
Anyone know how to force start the download?
I got it on my desktop by searching for updates a couple times, maybe throw in a reboot, but it's definitely triggered by windows update.
I got it on my desktop by searching for updates a couple times, maybe throw in a reboot, but it's definitely triggered by windows update.
Yeah I didn't reboot just searched for updates twice, then the folder appeared and it's downloading the rest now.
I got it on my desktop by searching for updates a couple times, maybe throw in a reboot, but it's definitely triggered by windows update.
Service Host appears to be downloading something now. What I did was go to the RHS pop out bar on Win8.1, go to search, search for "troubleshoot", then clicked "Fix problems with Windows Update". Did a quick sign out, then in. Turns out it didn't fix it. Fuck sake.
For me Windows Update downloads 140MB of data into C:\$Windows.~BT then says the update failed, guess I'm not worthy of the upgrade
For me Windows Update downloads 140MB of data into C:\$Windows.~BT then says the update failed, guess I'm not worthy of the upgrade
I have a 140 MB Windows.~BT folder too, but nothing Windows 10 related in the update history yet. Really not a fan of how this all happens silently in the background, I wanna know what's happening.
So if I don't want to be an insider post release what do I do?
Host has been downloading for about a halfa, but no change to file size in GWX or $Windows.~BT
Anyone know what "Change Product Key" under "Activation" in the update settings do? Could I change my key back to my original windows 8 key I bought awhile ago?
:snip: Apparently they aren't releated to Win10 at all
Anyone know what "Change Product Key" under "Activation" in the update settings do? Could I change my key back to my original windows 8 key I bought awhile ago?
It does exactly what it says, it allows you to change windows product key.
So... I now have a 5.95 GB $Windows.~BT folder. Yet, the setup says I am missing the WIM. Fucking hell Microsoft, couldn't you have just let non-technopeasants grab the ISO?! [t]http://i.imgur.com/lJ2lQQ0.png[/t]
Gonna install this thing to my test bench tomorrow. If it's any good, I might update my home desktop also.
So if I don't want to be an insider post release what do I do?
I'd also like to know. I'm currently on the Insider version. Would I have to format back onto 8.1, upgrade from there? There must be an easier way.
It has been confirmed that the version that is being downloaded is just 10240 iirc. I assume an update will be posted to take it to release. [editline]28th July 2015[/editline] That is from the esd decryption. The file name automatically generated is XX_windows_10_pro_10240_xYY_dvd.iso Where XX is the region and YY is the bit version.
So I read everyone complaining about dodgy graphics drivers, does it also apply for AMD graphics cards?
Some people are reporting 10300 though so I dono. Wouldn't be a big thing for insiders to get windows 10 for free by default so I dono.

Then I found this sucker ninja downloading away.
How much free room should I allocate on my main C:\ drive (a small SSD) before I do upgrade to 10? I'm just concerned that it may run out of room during the installation

Is there any downsides to upgrading rather than just doing a clean install?
Is there any downsides to upgrading rather than just doing a clean install?
Nothing really minus the fact it'll have all your old files and programs and maybe slow it down a bit compared to a fresh install.
