How bad would interlacing be if we still had display technology in use that was using it?
New tuner ehh

Turns out you can get defective/test silicon wafers for like $20 on ebay
Could be an interesting thing to slap on the wall
Did adobe force interlacing when on Mpeg4 or did it just default to it. Try setting to mpeg4 and then going back to see if you can turn off the interlacing.
It doesn't seem to matter. Even if I tell it to render with no fields (progressive scan) MPEG4 will still give me interlaced video. I can force it to deinterlace but then the output is blurred as fuck.
So since I'm blocked on coding until the site-side guy can catch up, I was organizing all the shit we had in the office server room - boxes full of cables and crap, trying to get it organized so that when somebody needs an Ethernet cable or power strip, they don't have to organize a search party and hire a team of Sherpas for the expedition.
I filled not one, but TWO large boxes with hard drives. Mostly ancient crap - I would be surprised if we have more than 2TB total in them all. Every connector type - IDE, SATA, several types of SCSI, you name it. I think I even found an IDE tape drive - like, cassettes.
Also, a full-length ISA video card. Two feet or whatever it was. Shit was crazy.
There's still boxes and crap all over, but I at least made a substantial dent in it.

What the fuck?
Tried the original bloat settings again and now that's outputting interlaced too. Did the rendering engine crash? I'm rebooting.

So weird. It's as if my first take was interlaced and the rest was not.
Oh well, it's compacted to 2.1gb now so I'm happy.
maybe you should use a not outdated version of premiere :v:
I should find some newer video editing software at some point. I'm still using some really... really old copy of Vegas I've had for years that I got handed down to me ._.
It does the job but just positioning things feels like it takes more steps than it should, clunky. And it can't even play back a 1920x1080 project with a single track and no effects... on my studio PC (Which is by no means a slow computer)
Maybe I just don't know how to use it properly. I can do basic editing to videos up on youtube at least.
I'd really like to know what Acer was smoking when they designed this ummm... laptop

Windows might have broken, try a spare HDD and install windows.
That gold is worth a little bit of money, especially if you've got enough of them.

Fuck the gold. They're awesome pieces of tech. Those were the days when gold was so cheap, DEC was making Alpha chips with gold lugs so you could bolt your heatsink to the CPU.

I have two of these guys, apparently you can get over $50 worth of gold out of a single one.

No you can't.. At least not after you pay the guy on craigslist or ebay the $80 he wants for one.

I salvaged mine so I didn't need to put in any costs towards the factors.
Who in the right mind spends $80 buying a Pentium Pro anyways?
I've held a stack of 15 of those Pentium Pro's in my hand. I've seen the ones with the gold bolts too. :v:

Pretty nice, but get that AUX button fixed.
Maybe we should put the IRC adress in the title so people can easily find it? I didn't write it down when it was being posted here.. so help me someone :v:
