I can see how it's annoying but I simply don't understand how it could "Break [somebody's] workflow," like most opponents to Windows 8 say it does. It pops up, you click something, and it pops back down just as quickly.
It wasn't until Windows 8 that I realized how little I use the Start Menu. I will sometimes go hours without pressing the Win key.
Opening the Start Menu breaks workflow to begin with, since you're popping a big fucking thing into your screen.
It doesn't matter if it's full screen or not.
I wouldn't say this blocks my workflow.
A grid of huge icons blocking my whole screen is.
I'm happy I didn't pay a cent for BF4, as in I don't have it.
God that was a bullet I dodged
It's the most fun in a mindless FPS I've had in ages, but only when the following are true
1) You've found a good server that's not 24/7 Locker!
2) Your game doesn't crash while piloting a Little Bird
3) You don't use the entire DMR class of weapons
4) Your squad isn't comprised of twits who don't know in which direction is up
5) There are no god-awful commanders in the game doing nothing but dropping cruise missiles outside the map.
But when you do get something good, it's tons of fun
[editline]15th December 2013[/editline]
[sp]then it crashes[/sp]
Or when I want to play a mindless FPS I could just play BF3, which is almost the exact same game but stable

Does pentium ever talk about anything that's not related to vintage pc?

He has 20 year old chips in his blood stream.
if i want to play a FPS i just boot up planetside 2
it doesn't really get much better
I'm happy I get 30~ FPS in planetside 2 now, used to only get ~5-10 FPS on my old PC

No.
No.
That sounds about right :v:
It's pretty bad when I can't even send him the CIPWTTKT gpu cause his motherboard doesn't support PCI...
6 weeks later and BF4 is still so broken.
3 weeks later: BF5
"Hey you guys, lets fix all the problems with BF4 by releasing an identical game and calling it BF5 and charging another 60 bucks plus a 25 dollar season pass... On top of that they're both the same exact game as BF3."

It makes me wonder why he doesn't just build a new PC rather than trying to revive a dead horse. He recently posted about how he bought 2x1GB DDR-400 for like $50 when he could have used that same amount to buy 8GB of DDR3 towards a new computer.
I found a nice DVB-T USB stick for software-defined radio, and tried to order it.
19$ item, 37$ shipping. I'll pass.
Anyone got suggestions on where to order that doesn't fuck you over with international shipping?
I got one off ebay for £11 with a bunch of MCX adapters by searching for RTL3832u.
SDR# with PDW is awesome, I've been decoding pager signals all weekend. Ah Defcon, what have you done to me.

Dammit, now I want one. Do you need any special antennas?
Okay, I'm sorry I keep plugging my website, but I just added something I call RandomRig:
It grabs a random case, cd drive, gpu, motherboard, cpu, hdd, psu, and ram. One of these, instead of being a normal computer part, will be a completely random item (for funsies). And yes, the javascript is bad and outdated, but I just started figuring it out for myself.

The first "case" I got was this.

Also the snow is annoying.
[editline]16th December 2013[/editline]

Same rig? You're supposed to encounter exactly one completely random item per rig. It's just there to make it more interesting, because usually newegg has some really weird shit for sale.
Some engineers were rebooting a Linux box used for video stuff at a Finnish TV station, but someone fucked up with the video output.

Would use as PSU
10/10

Not for pagers, the little one that comes with it works fine. I was able to pick up my car key frequency on it too.
However, with a cheap home made antenna you can pick up weather satellites (this is my mates):

And a couple of pictures he received:

Wow $87 saving what a bargin!!!1!
So I'm going to assume that you guys want me to remove the single completely random item that you get?
Also: removed the snow
It's kinda funny I guess, but sometimes you get two random things.

Well shit, I guess I'll be buying one of those if I have money left over after buying gifts. That sounds amazing for a little USB dongle.
Holy shit this new laptop at work... i7, 12gb ram, touchscreen, leap motion, 2x1tb drives...
I got this for my first case

It's the DIY option.
