Don't spend more than $5
the only thing that a slightly more expensive hdmi cable gives you is build quality, if you travel a lot don't buy a chink cheap one
As long as it's good enough to pass the signal you won't get any better picture quality so you're just paying for build quality.
Don't buy the cheapest of cheap because if the connector breaks off inside your equipment it isn't fun.
A bad HDMI cable can fall into that narrow zone where it works but you get corrupt data, you end up with random coloured speckles or a completely corrupt screen, outside of this zone it either works or it doesn't.
So eBay? 10ft is around $3.50
It's not something I'd use a lot. Only to mirror a computer display or extend it to the TV nearby so the length of 10ft is enough. And I of course want one that won't break or get stuck in a port (like my last one that was $10 but I blame something else for that) but at the same time I don't want to buy an overpriced one that has the same shit build quality as the $10 one.
don't buy a dirt cheap HDMI cable, because they'll probably kink and break pretty soon, but don't buy a really expensive one because it says it'll tickle your bollocks on the packaging, they all do the same thing. works or it doesn't

My acerV223W is dying (Purple lines on one side of the screen) and I want to get something of a similar size (22 inch)
I don't know if my second monitors cables are failing or if the ports are failing. both my DVI and power plug sit incredibly loose when connected. a simple knock on the table will unplug one of them (they won't literally fall out of the port, but they'll lose connection) or give the DVI cable a really bad connection resulting in graphical artefacts all over. the DVI one won't even work if I screw it in place for whatever reason, so I've let it sit loose since that's the only way I've gotten it to work
I'll probably just go to best buy or something on boxing day and look for a good deal.
