The cheapest tablet you can get that isn't complete garbage is probably the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 (what a fucking name) but it's still a $150 Android tablet and terrible.
So the main problem is the lack of ram?
I'm seriously considering getting this, seems pretty decent if you know what to expect from it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/7-tablet-pc-Q88-Allwinner-A23-Dual-Core-1-5GHz-512MB-4G-WiFi-OTG-android-4-2-/161182790960?pt=US_Tablets&var=&hash=item25873e3530
These are utter shit and are practically unusable, don't bother buying them. When it comes to electronics, you get what you paid for.
So the main problem is the lack of ram?
The cheap hardware isn't the only problem. You'll run into a bunch of software and user experiance issues as well, ranging from unresponsive touchscreen, having an extremely unoptimized android OS that can't run anything, lack of aftermarket support, you name it.
the Note 8 was slightly better in my experience (but still pretty shit)
It's also twice the price. But yeah, Samsung tablets have some notoriously cheap digitizers in my experience.
The Tegra Note rebrands are at least semi-decent and fairly cheap if you can't shell out for the N7.
Still only 1 gig of RAM. Would totally have one by now if it had 2.
But yeah, the tablet might not be as bad as you guys make it out to be but I won't be buying it now. I'll save my money and get a good phone instead, I'm getting pretty sick of my HTC Wildfire S. And I hate shitty screens, so that tablet would probably be pretty painful to use.
Honestly the cheap tablet I'd prefer to get the most is the Asus Transformer Book T100. $400 for a quad-core x86 Windows 8.1 tablet with a keyboard dock that doesn't suck.
Visiting family for Christmas is always so bittersweet. I love being able to see everyone, but it hurts to see my grandfathers Alzheimer's worse every time we come. This disease is horrible.

I got my GTX 760 today and installed it. It barely fit in my mid tower case and I had to do some SATA cable rearranging between my hard drives. When I went to boot my system up, my computer stalled trying to boot Windows and gave me this error: 0x000428 winloader.exe - Windows could not verify the digital signature of this file. I have no idea what it meant and I tried everything I could to fix it. I installed Windows 7 on a second partition on a separate hard drive and that's what I'm using right now. If I could fix the original HDD that would help a whole lot. Oh, and the GPU kicks a lot of ass. 70FPS steady in almost every game with Ultra
Proven false I just moved the brick all over my face going "HEEEYYOOOOOWAYOHHHOHHHH" and the only thing I've achieved is confusing the fuck out of the cat
Speakers give of an electromagnetic field while operating (It's how they work). I suspect there's a coil inside that device that picks this field up.
Yeah my grandma's funeral was today so I know how you guys feel Death sucks
man, when i lose my grandparents it'll be really tough. i love them so much. i'm finally realizing that it'll happen soon, because my granpa is 80 now, and it's a big change from 5 years ago. he sold his place (the nightclub next door wanted to expand) and stopped working. it's really crazy, it went from him working 6-6 to staying home all day. his eyesight was really really bad already, but nowadays he can't read at all anymore - he could using a magnifying glass and some effort. he's also slowed down considerably, like his body is getting heavy. it hurts like hell but i'm trying to spend quality time with them and help however i can when i'm here at their house. i can't see them often because of uni but gotta spend the time i have left with them the best i can e/n
My grandparents on my dad's side both passed away when I was about 3 or 4, and there's one one picture I managed to find of me with one of them (my grandpa) which I have tucked away in a safe place since it's all I really have left of them. But on my mom's side my grandma, who is in her early 80s iirc, has almost no short-term memory. I get asked how old I am at least ten times a day and she still seems to think I'm in middle school when I'm half-way done with college, but yet she can remember something that happened 10 years ago. Besides her losing her memory she's always sick/tired so she can barely walk and can rarely leave the home she lives in. On the other hand my grandpa is doing ok, he's just tired from having to help the nurses take care of my grandma and cleaning out their house which is being sold to one of my cousins. He's in his mid/late 80s but he's always willing to getout of the home and go somewhere, plus he's still somehow able to drive himself around. Luckily he's still easy to talk to and always has stories to tell since he served in the Canadian Army in WWII and in the American Army in Korea, plus he was a metal worker in Los Angeles so he always has some random trivia about the city and its buildings to share. It's just sad knowing soon he's going to be alone with his cats in an old people's home in Mexico. I hope that when I move out he's some how able to move in with my parents or live with one of my other relatives. [editline]27th December 2013[/editline] wow, that post was longer than I thought

Just had my keyboard and mouse start flickering (both backlit) and the PC would not accept any input at all from either device. Sound to my headset (also USB) was working fine - I was watching a YouTube video at the time. Any idea what that was all about? G500 mouse, Corsair K70 keyboard.
probably a usb controller or software issue
I'm going to assume my motherboard is yet another piece of garbage (Gigabyte GA-Z68-UD3H-B3) that's on the fritz and work on replacing both it and my dilapidated, insect-corpse ridden computer case.
I have the same motherboard. My only issue with mine is the coil whine that happens when I play certain games.
It's too loud for me to even hear. I don't know. I just have shit luck with technology, I guess. Two hard drives dead in a year and some other bullshit with my computer, plus being forced to format Windows because some shell extension would crash Explorer every time I right clicked on a file. At least my phone still works. Shit, I just jinxed it.
So I went to a best buy and noticed they moved the entire laptops and desktops area to where the car audio once was and plastered Windows 8 all over it (finally). Touch screens are cool but it seems to make the screen thicker and heavier on laptops. I tried typing on the RT tablets using the rubber keyboard, worst thing ever. I found it hard to type with this thing. I'm still in the market for a laptop and the windows 8 tablets with snap on keyboard combo looks cool but I'd go for the traditional laptop because power and price.

I'd sort of like to learn different languages but 1) They just sound like gibberish so its hard to start 2) I'm too lazy/busy
That's the tablet i am going to buy next week, I can provide some feedback and photos.
Awesome, please do. I'm planning on getting it once I have some disposable income.
